CogSwap Trick Guide
A guide for the cogswap method, using a slide card, includes a template for the slide card.
This will allow you to play cd, and dvd backups without a modchip.
If you print out the picture of the slide card you can use it for the cog swap method.
Use the white pin (circled in the picture) to open the tray, you need to remove the front of the tray, it just pulls off (it might snap the tab off but it will glue back on easily). If you look in the slot underneath the tray, here, you will see a white pin, you have to use the notch in the tool to grip it and slide it to the right until the tray pops out a little, and then you can pull it out by hand.
When you have done the swap, you need to push the tray back in, then use the tool to grip the pin and pull it back to the left.
This will take a bit of practice to get right, but as long as your careful and take your time you will get the hang of it.
To load the exploit cd.
- Have AR/GS dongle in memory card slot 2 (if needed by your disc)
- Power on your PS2
- Insert AR/GS/ disc, press Reset
- At the AR/GS menu, select Start Game, Without codes
- Use Flip Top or Swipe/Slide Card to open PS2 tray
- Swap/Insert your exploit CD
- Close Flip Top or use Swipe/Slide Card to close PS2 tray then press X
- Screen will change and the exploit will now start to load
