Jack attributed his inability to play musical instruments of any kind to his lack of an unending soul. It was not that he had not looked. He had. And he found nothing there. For the same reason, he had a great affinity for the Blues. It filled him with a sense of well-being. Even though it was. The Blues.

Jack's lack of an unending soul made him a very rational person. Except when it came to affairs of the heart. "It stands to reason," he would say, "that such matters cannot be governed entirely by the intellect. And since I lack one unending soul, I shall have to leave it to chance."

Interview Capsule 2: Andy Howell
----------------
Andy Howell's career as a world-renowned street artist co-exists in zen-like balance with his past as a top professional skateboarder, co-founder of prominent skateboard company Element Skateboards, 411 video magazine and Giant Distribution, and creative director for various companies. Andy describes his paintings as "transcendental moments", or "the actual moment when we transcend daily mediocrity, whether it be discovery, triumph or escape." The FACE Magazine described them as "Disney on Drugs".

"Street art speaks to everyone, sometimes subconsciously even, and everyone has some reaction to it."

------------------------------------------------------------
Sublime places repeat in grand terms a lesson that ordinary life typically teaches viciously: that the universe is mightier than we are, that we are frail and temporary and have no alternative but to accept limitations on our will; that we must bow to necessities greater than ourselves.

- Alain de Botton, The Art of Travel
------------------------------------------------------------

Interview Capsule 3: Bigfoot
---------------
Bigfoot has found worldwide commercial success through design for footwear label I-path and BF-1 tshirts. In his art, he works big, using recycled wood and paint to create bold visual reminders of the power of nature, addressing the conflict between the respect for nature held by American indigenous people and the destructive agenda of the Western conquest.

"Everything from a candy wrapper to a skateboard graphic can make a person inspired to use colours and shapes to express themselves, and to take it to the street is to make it become part of the world for all to see and be influenced by."

------------------------------------------------------------
If the world is unfair or beyond our understanding, sublime places suggest it is not surprising things should be thus. We are the playthings of the forces that laid out the oceans and chiselled the mountains.

- Alain de Botton, The Art of Travel
------------------------------------------------------------

Interview Capsule 4: Sam Flores
--------------
Sam Flores was born in 1975, immersed in the stark beauty of the New Mexico desert. His work of paintings on maps, blueprints, canvas and tshirts have earned him shows in New York, Tokyo and Paris, and he continues to enjoy a strong following in the street art world.

"I've always liked to put stuff where they don't belong. Over the years, I got used to it and I guess it's my way of portraying people in their lives. The characters I paint have no pupils cuz a lot of people are like that. They are blind to what's going on around them and their surroundings."
