Steve Jobs didn’t coin this sentence. "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish" is often attributed to Steve Jobs but it was actually used by "The Whole Earth Catalog", published 1968 – 1974, who had put the words on the back cover of their final publication.

In the Stanford speech Steve Jobs towards the end of his speech shares the following sentence:
"On the back of the cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath it were the words: ‘Stay hungry. Stay foolish."
