Disclaimer: if you get beat and waste all your money trying these moves it ain't my fault none. Plus, I probably will make a lot of spelling errors. Bear with me.
The uppercut is the best move in the game. Period. It's easy to do, fast to execute, knocks the person down, and does a lot of damage. Most people do not realize the full potential of the uppercut. Against a novice it is very useful in that it can be used to stop a jump attack. Simply crouch down and wait for the jump, then hit low or high punch. Now for the really useful juicy stuff. I am now going to tell you how to beat anyone in a n uppercut fight, EVEN JOHNNY CAGE! Its easy; When your opponent goes for an uppercut do NOT wait for him to crouch back down. This is assuming that you're guarded when your opponent is doing the uppercut you are defended. It takes some timing, but once you get it down, it becomes automatic. This creates a very nifty little move that annoys the HELL out of the other guy. For those people who crouch down and wait for you to jump, and then do an uppercut, what you do is hit the kick button real early in the kick. That way if they try the uppercut before you land they get tagged on the top of the head. If they do not get hit, meaning they are still defended, they will probably go for the uppercut right after you land. Here`s what you do : Hit the defend button right after you start your kick. That way, you`ll be defended when they try to uppercut you. Then you tag them before they can crouch down again, as above. BAM! You can do this many times in a row before the players figure it out, if they ever do. WARNING! : the moves above are only for human players! This does not work against the computer. T defeat the computer I suggest the following universal moves. The Computer is a sucker for the jump kick. You can get a lot of mileage out of going for one jump kick right after the other. Eventually the computer will start to block, but you can get several hits off depending on how far into the game you are. If the computer does block the jump kick, here`s what you do; do a foot sweep, and get as close as you can to him and press low kick. This is the knee that all players have, and will knock your opponent down. Then you can begin the jump kick cycle over again. If the computer blocks the knee, then it will almost always do some sort of high attack move, like a standing kick, and you can uppercut the dude. These moves do not works against Gorro. DO NOT SWEEP GORRO! EVER! Also, one more computer tip, until it gets pretty far into the game, the computer will walk right into rapid low punches. So, in the first few battles, start out by pressing low punch rapidly. You will have to develop your own timing as to when to stop punching. That`s it for now, gammers! Have fun!
