›≤±∞≥    Hello and welcome to the latest issue of the Dextrose Chart,    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  and what a month it has been, with over 50 releases, not bad      ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  going for what many have passed off as a "dead format".  And      ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  things look like they can only improve in the next two months     ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  with some of the best games on any platform on the horizon.       ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥                                                                    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥    In a busy scene there has also been quite a lot of squabbling   ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  and arguments, mostly started by the releases from Total Crap     ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  (or is that tOTAL cRAP).  It seems that The Corporation took      ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  serious offence to the initial Total Crap release, mostly due to  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  the parody of The Corporation's .NFO file.  While the leaders of  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  the group eventually deny the whole thing, there was an initial   ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  Witch Hunt going on to try and find out who was responsible for   ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  the releases, blaming everyone from the regulars in some IRC      ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  channels to members of other well respected groups.  While it     ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  is understandable that the group be interested in origin of these ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  releases, what is a little harder to condone is the actions of    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  several members of the group who spent most of their time trying  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  to get the files nuked from sites by telling everyone they were   ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  "fake" releases, WITHOUT even taking the time to download the     ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  files and testing them.  The excuse that they thought Diddy Kong  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  Racing was a fake as it had an invalid checksum can hardly hold   ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  much credence, as everyone who owns a backup unit knows that the  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  game uses a different CIC chip to the normal.  This sort of       ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  behaviour from a well respect group reflects very badly on the    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  scene as a whole and helped to build up the bad feelings towards  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  The Corporation that are currently going around.                  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥                                                                    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥    While any release is welcome, whether it be a totally new game, ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  a different country version of an existing game, or even a new    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  version of an old game, we should always be grateful to the       ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  groups who take the time and effort to go out and get the games   ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  for us.  Without them, we would be all in line at BlockBuster     ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  forking out far too much money to rent games, and the owners of   ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  Block Busters would prolly be in the same league as Bill Gates,   ≥∞±≤ﬁ

›≤±∞≥  The US version of last months Hybrid Heaven will allow the non    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  Japanese speaking to attempt to understand the "good guy/bad guy  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  /not really/who knows/is it?" plot.  Tonic Trouble proved to be a ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  quite a nice little Banjo Kazooie style game, but without much    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  in the way of a plot.  Monaco Grand Prix is the sequel to last    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  years F1 World Grand Prix, renamed for the American market.       ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  Also making an appearance this month is the long awaited Hot      ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  Wheels, which EA has been trying to pass off as some Micro        ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  Machine beater, Unfortunately the game turns out to be total and  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  utter rubbish mostly because it is running on an updated San      ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  Francisco rush engine, and we all know how good that is...  Road  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  Rash 64 is a Nintendo 64 update of the classic 3D0 game, which    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  turns out to be a quite playable despite the fairly basic graphic ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  ability on display.  WCW Mayhem carries on the popular line of    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  'restlin games, for those of you who like that sort of thing,     ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  Gauntlet Legends proved to be an excellent port from the arcade   ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  original, which was in itself a very enjoyable game, but ruined   ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  by the in-game speech. Gauntlet just is not the same without the  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  TMS5220 generated speech of the original.  Rounding off the US    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  releases for the month is the incredibly surprising Army Men:     ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  Sarges Heros, which when you consider the development teams last  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  game was last years dire Battle Tanx, is an incredible            ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  improvement. While the control is sometimes frustrating, and the  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  camera is ALLWAYS annoying, the game is very playable and         ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  definitely one of the best this month.  All-Star Tennis turned    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  out to be the US version of Junes PAL release, V-Rally Edition 99 ≥∞±≤ﬁ

›≤±∞≥  Japanese version of V-Rally'99, and at 128mbit, the second        ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  release was identical only the game had been resized to 64mbit,   ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  while the third release was identical to the second only with the ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  archive filename changed.  It seems that the supplier of this     ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  game got it from a Hong Kong CD, played the game and thought "oh  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  it's a rally game, it must be V rally 99..".  A slap on the wrist ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  to The corporation for not realising that the Japanese version    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  of V Rally'99 has not been released yet, but in the rush to get   ≥∞±≤ﬁ

›≤±∞≥  game despite being Japanese.  While game of the month is once     ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  again a tricky choice due to the shear number of releases for me  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  Densha de GO! proved the most enjoyable game of the month,        ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  closely followed by the excellent Bakuretsu Muteki Bangaioh.      ≥∞±≤ﬁ

›≤±∞≥    I personally feel that the point of owning a backup unit is not ≥∞±≤ﬁ

›≤±∞≥  unusual games (mostly Japanese) that you normally would not be    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  able to play. Groups like Menace whom actively seek out Japanese  ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  games should receive more credit than the groups who just camp    ≥∞±≤ﬁ 
›≤±∞≥  out in EB or WalMart waiting for what ever the next big American  ≥∞±≤ﬁ
