                        "Why AD&D 2nd Edition Sucks"

  AD&D 2nd Edition has been around for quite awhile now.  I wonder how many  
  of the 2nd edition players have seen the 1st edition.  I have been playing 
  AD&D for 10 years and I still play 1st edition.  Some of my fellow BBSers 
  (I won't name any handles) are huge 2nd edition backers and think my views 
  on 2nd edition suck.  Well...  I can say one thing... TSR can kiss my A$$! 

     2nd edition blows for a lot of reasons. 

     1st reason:  Too much has been put out for it.  Plain and simple. 
                  With so much out there some of it (most of it) is bound 
                  to suck.  They just put it out to make some $$$.  I hate 
                  buracracy and having to deal with their BS.  I put up with 
                  enough buracracy in every day life, why do they have to 
                  incorporate it into RPG.  (Big business I guess).   

     1st reason part II:  With so much out there, how can someone such as *I* 
                          who has little or no cash, afford it?!?!  I can't. 
                          Result:  I don't buy it.  I haven't bought any 
                          2nd edition stuff.  Not one lousy thing.  And I  
                          don't plan to. 

 
      2nd reason:  AD&D 2nd edition was never really improved upon.  The  
                   System is almost exactly the same, just a few little 
                   changes here and there.  If they wanted to make a better 
                   game they could have released an entirely new RPG.   
                   Putting out a 2nd edition is like saying "1st Edition  
                   sucked so we made a 2nd one."  That grinds me. 

      3rd reason:  They fired Gary Gygax... The CREATOR of AD&D.  'Nuff Said. 

      4th reason:  An entire manual on one character.  See reason 1.  Why 
                   would you need an ENTIRE manual on one character?  Don't 
                   ask me.  I couldn't tell you... 

       
        I suppose I could sit here all day and give more reasons but I won't.  
        To wrap it up I'll just say that I love Medieval RPG and AD&D first 
        edition is a great game.  2nd edition.. well..  I don't know.  I have 
        never bought anything for it.  So how can I sit here and rip on 2nd 
        Edition?!?!  Well hopefully I have YOU convinced to BOYCOTT TSR 2nd 
        Edition because it's a scam.  A total scam.  And if you (I pity you if 
        you have) have already run out and bought 20 zillion 2nd edition  
        manuals, then I figure you're sitting here saying "What a bunch of 
        BS.)"  Well yer the one who got ripped off not me.  hehe.  You 
        could have bought 10 DIFFERENT RPG's and had 10 times the fun.   
        Oh well.  Sell it at the next GenCon..  Which I hope to attend.
