Hi everybody!
Since "Just for a day" and "Souvlaki" i've been looking for some other bands
with the same sound effect and soothing vocals......somes of my favorite are
Colfax Abbey "Drop"
Blind Mr.Jones "stereo musicale"
7% Solution "all about spaceships and satellites"
If anybody have some new bands or old that might sound like Slowdive first 2
albums i'll be very glad if you let me know!
And do someone have any information about Blind mr.jones, are they working
on a new album?
I'm a big Chris Hufford fan for the work he done with Slowdive and Blind
mr.Jones, i know he have work with Radiohead for "OK Computer" but does he
have work with other shoegazing bands in the past?

hihi,
I've been a fan of Slowdive/Mojave3 for some time, but only recently
joined this list. So if this has been discussed before, please point me to
the archives (if they exist.. I hope so!).
Today, with all this talk of Rachel, I did a search on her name and came
up with this page:
http://www.harald.net/peter/fresh!/moNo/gammalt.html
It has a brief interview with her, on a very well designed page. The only
problem is that it's all in Swedish (I think). Does anyone here have the
time (and/or capacity) to translate this to English?

Hello,
If anyone is interested in getting Slowdive and Mojave 3 bootlegs I can tape
what I have in exchange for blank tapes. For every 90 min. worth of music
you would like you send me: 1 tape without case card etc., 1 sealed Maxell
XL II tape or TDK SA II tape..I keep this one, and $1US..this is to cover my
cost for bubble pack and postage...I'm seventeen and don't have a lot of
spare cash so I have to ask for this.
My Slowdive/ Mojave 3 bootlegs are listed at:
http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Alley/5405/slowdive.htm
If anyone is interested please get in touch.

Hi there!
I just read the interview referred to above and I think it must have
been written in english from the beginning and then translated into
swedish, because the language is a bit strange and I should know since
I am swedish myself... What I mean is that the interview should exist
in english somewhere on the Net...
But hey, I will translate it for you if you want as soon as I have some
time over... got to take care of my studies as well :)

Hmmmm... Sorta in the same genre as "Ch-Vox" by Seefeel. They create
minimalistic/experimental electronic music. They are on Mute Records, if
that gives you a better idea... And they are out of Finland. "Vakkio" is
their older release, but "Kulma" is more recent. In my opinion "Kulma" is
better. Guess it just depends on your preference.

I guess it fits under term "techno". Very minimalistic. One might say it is
no music at all, just some electric noises :)
A Finnish band under the Finnish label S{hk| (That's S, A with two dots,
H, K, O with two dots).
Check it out if you're looking for something different!

I think that is a WONDERFUL idea, but some may have a problem with the
copyright thing. I personally don't. I have a live recording (not in the

had something like this on CD, but unfortunately this is only a taped
recoding. Lots of air and feedback.

I saw thm at the last Indie Rock Flea market, and they were totally great
- just the bright morning sun beating down on me, as I sat at the feet of
Windy and Carl....mmmmm...bliss! I can't wait to see them when they come
to town! I guess they have started their US tour already, and they will
betouring through November, after which I'm sure they'll need a nice
loooong break! As for where they are playing, not totally sure, but they
will indeed be here in gainesville, FL in later November...

Sounds like a fantastic idea! To those that have a problem w/ it... too
bad! I've got a live CD called "slowdive Live" abs 005 put out by
absinthe records in 1997. It says unofficial slowdive release- for
private use only, the songs are :
slowdive, catch the breeze, melon yellow, when the sun hits, Alison,
Losing Today, Morning Rise
Quality is blah! I've got some other tape recordings as well some of
which sound better. The best I've heard to date is Oslo 1993. I believe
this was an official release on cd though if I'm not mistaken. It'd be
cool if we could stick to the quality level of this release.

i saw them last february with labradford here in chicago. they actually
play here quite often. i am pretty sure that i've seen their name on the
show list once or twice since then. we're spoiled here so it's easy to
miss things as bands are always back within a couple weeks.
in any case, they were very good, not really all
that interesting to watch but good nontheless.

Here's an idea for the live CD then...
we need to get a list of what songs/bootlegs we ccan get ...
I have a cd burner and can cut the cds for about $10 Australian
each...(with some artwork)...
So i could cut the cds and send them for about $15 Australian
(depends on postage) this is about $13US.....
but we need a list of people who want it, and the cd's or tapes
to get them from....

Surprised I haven't heard more reviews about the new FSA album yet on
either of these lists! I listened to it about 4 times between yesterday
and today, and I think it is ultra tremendous. Harkens back to the olde
days of FSA when they used to blow me away...a nice meld of the first LP
and the last LP (Chorus), IMO. Truly remarkable, and getting chalked up on
the year's top 5 list for sure...
