are any of you on the MBV list as well? there is some major Slowdive
slamming going on over there....I just dont get it...but dont want to get
in the middle of it either...

i.e.:
"i think slowdive is horrible and yes i have given them a chance.
and i don't wanna hear that it will continue to grow on me if i listen to it
more...why don't u all buy the new hanson cd and listen to a billion times
til it grows on u.....maybe u see where i am coming from now. in my opinion
slowdive
is in the same category as every other shit band there is and if that offends
anyone well then its yr own problem cuz thats just my own opinion and nothing
more.
as for getting a grip..the only thing i wanna get a grip on when i listen to
slowdive is the side of the toilet bowl."

"I've never really understood the fuss about them either, as anything
other than pleasant enough background music..."

"Slowdive are more evil than Hitler"

Of course, the guy who said the above also
likes Tool, and Screaming Trees, and likes
to quote Pavement lyrics whenever he gets
the chance...so there you go.

Richie from Manic Street Preachers said this.
The same guy who cut himself with a razorblade
while doing an interview with the NME. The same
guy who's been missing for the past 18 months.

Well, that guy wrote me back by private mail and said it
is listed in the credits to the film 'NOWHERE' along with
"Avalyn II" (by Slowdive). So where can one get this song?

BTW, I don't have ready access to the film, so I can't
verify the song's listed.

Hi again all->

Just wanted to inform the masses that there is only one week left
for the auction I'm having. I added a whole bunch of tasty treats, many of
which haven't even been bid on yet. So have at it for the next week.
Auction ends Midnight next Saturday/Sunday. URL is:

http://grove.ufl.edu/~eleven

Remember, it's to help me visit the one I truly love, for all you hopeless
romantics! Also of note are the MBV 7", 12" and CD up for grabs, as well
as Slowdive stuff, and tons of other rare shoegaze/indiepop/etc stuffs.

Crosspost, crosspost, everywhere a crosspost...

gregg araki used both songs in the movie but neither one shows up
on the soundtrack. 'tryin' to reach you' should be appearing on the
next mojave 3 album. it's on some bootlegs, but also, you can go to
http://www.kcrw.org and listen to it on morning becomes eclectic in
RealAudio. yay.

it shows who slowdive hit many types of people

we also got the Scar ep from lush
and tons of xymox so if you are looking email me...maybe i can help

I just realized that Shine is one of the most achingly beautiful songs ever,
perfect for a Sunday morning. Thank you Neil, Rachel, and co. Love Spirals
Downwards does come close at times, but ooooooooh, Shine is perfection. Or,
at least for me.

Hi

RE - SLOWDIVE - In Mind (Reload Remix The 147 Take)

Its just dawned on me the connections between this remix and the game of
snooker!

1. The 147 Take - 147 Break (In other words the perfect remix!)

2. The murmers at the star of the track sound like a sampled snooker
commentator...the one from the BBC??

3. The sound of a snooker ball striking another can also be heard near the
start and at the end!

Interesting that!

Just stumbled across a copy of The Charlottes "Liar" EP; my first exposure
to this proto-shoegaze group; and I'm interested in finding out a bit more
about their brief history. Can any knowledgeable fans describe how their
sound evolved from that recording to their 2nd LP/1st LP, etc? Your help is
greatly appreciated!
The Charlottes' Discography:

•Are You Happy Now ? on Molesworth Records (7") '89
•Lovehappy on Subway Organization - SUBORG 12 (LP) Jul'89
•Love In The Emptiness on Subway Organization - SUBWAY 27 (12") '90
•Liar on Cherry Red Records - CHERRY 113 (12") '90
•Things Come Apart on Cherry Red Records - BRED 92 (LP) '91
