0 empty info Ok, hey all! Well, if you're reading this that means you got my mag.
Good for you! Well, not too many know of the mag, or heard of it so here's a
little info on it for yah...
Well, one day I was idling and got rather bored, so I figured why not
start a new mag (I had recently killed off an old mag I was doing called Zodiac)
and got to thinking and thought that the ascii scene never really had a good mag
to call its own, so I figured why not? And thus it began...this mag is going to
be the best. I'm going to make sure of it. A quality ascii scene mag. Too many
ansi mags. All ascii for this one. Anyway, here's a list of people who said they
would help me, and as an added bonus, a little info on them.
The Chosen One - A former ACID member now in TWILIGHT he will be coding the mag
thank him when you see him.
Discyple - My right hand in all of this. He does art, articles and as an all
around good guy, he does whatever he can to help...
Pariah - My left hand in all this. He does the same if not a little more than
Discyple: draws, writes, whatever is needed for the mag (note the
above ascii).
Mass Murderer - He did two really fucking cool ascii's for the mag and I really
thank him for that.
Ack - Everybody loves aCkie-pooh. He's doing a little art, and a little
bit of writing, to add to his phat editing skillz.
Meatpod - Writer, and artist. We couldnt do the mag with out him. He has the
esteemed position of official TYRONE interviewer.
Sargon - I dont know what he's gonna do, but we'll think of something...
The Prodigy - From odelay. He rules, and he's going to be writing about the
ascii scene in general.
Savage Dragon - formerly of noname as well. He will be drawing and writing for
the mag, as quoted " i ever get my lazy ass in gear "
Omicron - Writing the monthly REMORSE column, he will be bringing us the
news that comes from REMORSE
Necromancer - last and definantly not least, comes necromancer from remorse,
he will be writing a monthly oldschool ascii column..
And there you have it. Those are the members, and now... (Drumroll please)... On
with the mag!! Also just a new peice of information, this mag is now affiliated
with REMORSE ascii, as am i(empty) just a new tadbit of information i thought
' pariah wtf?
To this day I still don't understand how some high ranking people in the
ascii scene have become what they are. Some of you, are looked upon as legends
yet produce art that isn't exactly superior, and is achingly mediocre. Granted
you have nice signature styles, and try to cover up the mediocreness of your
art with "its 100% original baby" or even, "I could do better, but I'm trying
to be creative". If you're honest with yourself, you stick "100% Original" on
something that doesn't look good, an excuse of sorts. Another thing I don't
understand, is some of these so called legends act as if they are the pinnacle
of what ascii should be, when in reality they're kicking a style that might have
been innovative years ago, but is worn down compared to newer artists now. The
thing that aggrivates me the most, is that these "legends" who produce mediocre
art compared to newer artists seem to boast high standards in what they like in
ascii, and worst of all, like to criticize, or even give advice. In a way it's
Confucianism in the ascii scene, and I've never been fond of Confucianism. Don't
get me wrong, I actually DO respect certain "legends" but only those who have
shown they can adapt to the modern styles that artists are using, and if they
can't, in my eyes they're old innovators, but certainly not everlasting legends.
I know all you ascii veterans (I'm referring to NEWSCHOOL veterans, an oxymoron
in itself) are boiling right now, "How dare that fool pariah attack ME?" you're
probably thinking.. Basically it all comes down to only criticizing what you
know you're capable of doing, because once you criticize anything that you
yourself couldn't draw/achieve you're a sophomoric fool, perhaps experienced in
time, but young stylistically. To be honest I don't respect the majority of the
ascii scene, so if you want to take offense, be my guest.. Half of you center
yourselves around your repetitive, or just plain primitive styles and boast to
be the best.. If you stopped labeling things as "Colored Ascii" or "Ansi" or
"100% Ascii the way it should be" and started looking at things as computer art
you'd learn to respect several artists you foolishly ignored and become much
more critical of your own age old styles. Lastly, since I do respect certain
"legends" and artists, I'm going to list them below.. just so they don't take
the offensive and bitch like monkeys..
Discyple, Msd, Khz, Endless Nameless, Cain, Polymorph, Haji, and The Prodigy.

Has that ever happened to you? If it has, then you are among the elite
of the scene. You join the ranks of a grand devision of "psyburpympz". They
truely are a mad breed, utilizing their unique talents in ascii to procure
the affections of mindless snob cheerleaders across the nation. YES! I KNOW
YOU WANT THAT!!!
I know what you are thinking! You are thinking, "Dang, ACK! How can I
achieve the level of mad ascii pimping that you have?" Well... I'll tell you.
You know that old song "Who Wrote the Book of Love?" WELL! I DID!!! YES! ME!
The original title was "How to Act Like a Female Preeteen To Get Some Nasty
Cyberluvin'", but my editor advised me to retitle it.
Hmmm... this is a long story... A few weeks ago, I was approached by
an incredibly beautiful girl at my school. She said to me, "y03, 4ck@#$@#

Using ascii to improve your pimpin skillz is not really a tool. It's a
method. You must approach a bitch like you approach an ascii. Well, ok. Maybe
ascii is more of a tool...
Ok. This is how I got started. In 1993 I was an absolute geek. I was
shunned by women. They were constantly saying to me, "g0 4w4y, 4ck! y0u d0n'7
dr4w 4sc11, kun7knuckl3@$@#$@" But then, I saw the light. ASCII: THE COMPUTER
ART MEDIUM OF THE FUTURE!!! God said that to me in a dream. Do I started to
draw, and guess what!@# It cleared up my acne, made my penis larger, and cured
my chronic foot odor. I was a real pimp!
I started wearing leisure suits, slicking back my hair, and saying phat
phrases like, "Howz my bitch?" and "Slap my 'fro!" And the chicks loved me.
They loved me! I was flooded by hordes of teenie-boppers. They would mob me
in shopping malls, and rip off my clothing. They would fight over the scraps
of my clothing like animals! "My g0d!@#" I would say, "This is kinda kinky!"
And to believe it all started the day I bought my first d00dle to
school. I stepped out of my ride that morning, with a laptop under each arm,
and my leisure suit and felt coat on my body. I was the center of attention.
One daring female walked over, and asked me directly, "What are the laptops
for?" I told her, "For your eyes only, baby." (<<---Notice the pimp lingo1@#@!)
So I popped open one of the laptops, and showed her an ascii I had done
the night before. She could not contain herself. She moaned loudly, and
began to rup her thighs together. WHOA! I had to take her back to the ride to
chill her out. Needless to say, it was a very good day.

Basic pack 05, the Revival review by Pariah for Tyrone Emag
5Q@BSC.ASC :: Pretty nice, a little default style-wise though.
B-BDOLE.TXT :: I really like Biogensis' style, it flows nicely and isn't messy.
BM!*.*.ASC :: I've always liked Blindman's oldschools, and no dissapointments
here.
CN-*.*.ASC :: Err.. very scattered, but I think that's the idea. Should've used
more characters to give it style though.
DSP-*.*.ASC :: Overall some good pics accompanied by messy fonts.
GDR-*.*.ASC/ANS :: Not up to what Gravedancer has shown he's capable of doing,
but still pretty good.
MF-*.*.ANS :: Ugh.. if you're going to color, don't do it like me, get creative.
Also, some of these logos look like mice/haji drew them and I
colored them. A nice mix, but not original at all.
MJ-*.*.ASC :: Nice oldschools, some innovative newschool pic ideas as well.
MSO-*.*.ASC :: Average oldschools, I like the style in MSO-DROP.ASC, if only the
others resembled it.
MT!*.*.ASC :: Unique oldschools..
PPMB*.*.ASC :: Whee, Basic has everyone doing oldschool ascii :) Some nice stuff..
TN-BASIC.ASC :: I really like this one, it's the "messy" style but still flows
together nicely.
US-BLK.ASC :: A semi-original logo by Mortify, which is a nice change. Otherwise
a smooth oldschool/newschool mix.
VOL-BSC.ASC :: It's a little simple, but I still like it. When I first heard about
the Basic "revival" I heard the names Blindman/ Epidemic/Holoc
aust, and only one of them released. Perhaps it was the lack of
Holocaust's presence, but newschool-wise this wasn't a good pack at
all. As far as oldschool goes, it was an okay release, thanks in a
great part to Blindman but still lacking Epidemic, which could've
helped quite a bit. Unfortunately, the Basic pack ranks 4th, and
last this month.. not competing at all as far as newschool goes and
the oldschools, no matter how many just can't support the group by
themselves. Hopefully next month Epidemic and Holocaust will fix
what is capable of being a very competitive group.

BM!*.*.TXT :: Nice unique oldschools..
CN-*.*.ASC :: Very smooth graffiti/abstract style.
DY-*.*.ASC :: Lately discyple has been sticking to this write-up graff style,
and its simply amazing.
EN-KWOLY.ASC :: Great anscii, smooth oldschool/newschool mix.
FUCKING.K :: Haha, word to this.. Abstract meets graffiti in ascii.
MA-*.*.ASC :: Typical Mass Murderer nice asciis.
NM-*.*.ASC :: Mad Necromancer asciis, as to be expected.
OM-*.*.ASC :: Elite oldschools..
PAR-*.*.ANS :: Another great group of ascii's
PPMK*.*.ASC :: Phat, funky and stylistic.. perfect mix.
PR-*.*.ASC :: Very stylistic as well, beyond opinions. Nice .BIN too.
SE-PRODY.ASC :: Looks nice, although I'm not sure what it is :)
US-BLUE.ASC :: Sort of messy, but okay.
US-KWEST.ASC :: Discyple's write-up style meets Polymorph's bubble style. A
combustion of style. Overall a great release. Sort of small, but
what was released was definately high quality art. Watch out for
the K in the future.. This month Kwest comes in 2nd, releasing some
of the best newschool but just not competing oldschool-wise with
the likes of Remorse.

ACK-*.*.ASC :: Usual aCk style, and I like it quite a bit.. especially the
oldschool.
C4-BASIC.ASC :: Very unique, maybe a little too scattered though..
ENIG-RM.ASC :: The experimental analyzation of his own style, interesting..
GDR-ICB2.ASC :: Perhaps a little too overshaded, but otherwise a perfect pic and
font.
GDR-MOS.ASC :: Great pic.
JAK-INT.ASC :: Looks a little rushed..
JH-RMRS.ASC :: Perfect. Unique graffiti oldschool/newschool type style.
LI-0597.ASC :: Looks rushed here and there. Proportions on the pic are slightly
off but nice logos..
M!-ICE.ANS :: Proportions are off but the font is okay.
M!-ICE2.ANS :: Nice anscii, font + pic blend nicely.
M!-YEAH.ASC :: Looks messy, but I guess that's a style in itself.
MD-MOBZ.ASC :: What can I say? Perfect msd anscii..
MT-NON.ASC :: Nice logo, sort of abstract.
NM-*.*.ASC :: Typical great Necromancer oldschools.
PAR-*.*.ANS :: Great shading as usual by the one and only Pariah.
PB-BEYND.ASC :: Font flows together nicely.
R-11HOUR.TXT/R-ITC.TXT :: It's Whodini, really nice oldschool.
R-FUTURE.ASC :: I love hIRO's style, nothing less than the best.
R-MHZTLD.ASC :: Achingly elite.. mHz's style is something I'll never tire of.
REV-*.*.ASC :: Nice oldschools from a ex-newschool artist.
SP-*.*.ASC :: Abstract type stuff, and yes, you only got 2 votes.
SPR-*.*.ASC :: Sort of a default style, but still nice.
TM-PTX.ASC :: The letters are a tad too fat, but otherwise unique.
US-RMRS.ANS :: Pic is perfect, coloring on the font could use work though.
US-TY.ASC :: The pic is odd, the font is nice. Overall yet another great release
by the '81 crew. As always surpassing the expectations of the
scene. This month Remorse comes in 1st, simply because they
released the highest quality oldschool/newschool this month.

ARL-BEAT.ASC :: Sort of messy...
AXB-*.*.ASC :: Axb is a great artist, pic-wise among the likes of msd/kHz without
the color. His fonts aren't too good, but his pics definately make
up for them.
BD-SRL.ASC :: Messy and not colored nicely, a bad combination.
BJ-*.*.ASC :: Blackjack draws the Pitt too much :) Still, pretty good. The second
pic is a little overshaded.
CM-*.*.ASC :: Very unique, to say the least. Messy here and there, especially
that anscii, but I respect the unique style.
DX-*.*.ASC :: Overall pretty nice, Drax has his own coloring style going, and it
flows pretty nicely.As you might be able to tell, I couldn't get my
hands on the full Serial pack, which is unfortunate, because what I
saw was pretty good. I have a feeling if Axb sticks with serial,
he's definately going to become the "highlight" of the group. Even
though I haven't had an oppurtunity to view the whole pack, Serial
comes in 3rd this month, in a great part thanks to Axb.
