ELECTRONIC ARTS DEBUTS 10 PLAYSTATION TITLES AT ELECTRONIC ENTERTAINMENT EXPO

LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 10, 1995 "Electronic Arts" (Nasdaq:ERTS), the leading publisher of interactive entertainment CD-ROM software, today announced the industry's largest lineup of titles designed for the PlayStation(c), the next generation CD-ROM based advanced entertainment system marketed by Sony Computers Entertainment of America (SCEA). Demonstrated for the first time at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, most of the titles will begin shipping concurrent with the release of the PlayStation in the U.S. this fall.

Featured products include the premiere title in the Origin Interactive Movie(c) line, Wing CommanderÆ III: Heart of the Tiger(c); PGA TOURÆ Golf π96, an officially-sanctioned PGA TOUR in a box; Syndicate Wars(c), sequel to the best-selling cyberthriller Syndicate; and Shredfest(c), an original title for the PlayStation that puts you on the slopes in an extreme snowboarding competition where only the toughest will survive.

Wing Commander III, Origin Systems' interactive PC-CD title that took the gaming industry by storm, is undergoing transformation by EA for the Sony PlayStation. It features stunning 24-bit high resolution movie graphics and an original movie soundtrack in Dolby Surround Sound(c).

Wing Commander III's impressive frame rate produces television-quality video that puts the player in the heart of the dogfighting action, interacting face-to-face with such sci-fi legends as Mark Hamill (Star Wars trilogy), Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Star Trek) and John Rhys-Davies (Raiders of the Lost Ark). The Sony PlayStation's advanced architecture make it an ideal platform for showing off this multimedia extravaganza.

PGA TOUR Golf π96 is totally redesigned and features three new Championship Tournament Players Courses (TPC), including Summerlin, River Highlands and Sawgrass. Compete as one of the nine featured PGA TOUR pros (or play against them) and experience what it's like to play on the TOUR.

The PlayStation technology allowed EA to exploit Sony's 3-D graphics and texture mapping to provide the most realistic golf simulation on the market. The color and translucency capabilities of the PlayStation also enabled EA to provide full-screen videos with a richness of detail and quality not found on any other platform.

The award-winning Syndicate established itself as a classic program for its menacing atmosphere and skillful blend of arcade action and strategy. Now, Syndicate Wars uses the ultimate in 32-bit graphics to bring the player deeper into a dangerous, futuristic world of corporate warfare.

Created and designed specifically for the Sony PlayStation, Syndicate Wars uses revolutionary new technology pioneered by Bullfrog Productions. Real-time light sourcing effects and a unique new 360-degree rotating view are just a few of the game's features that take full advantage of the PlayStation's advanced capabilities.

From the designers of the award-winning Road Rash(c), Shredfest puts you on the slopes as an expert snowboarder competing in four different snowboarding events set in several realistic resort locations. The game features specialized video clips of real pros and real êshreddingõ (or snowboarding). The advanced video capabilities of the PlayStation allow the gameplay as well as full-screen video segments to run at twice the speed of other game machines, creating a higher-quality image and a more realistic experience of the user. It also features licensed rock music and videos throughout the game in full CD-quality Dolby Surround Sound.

Also available in the fall will be new original titles such as Psychic Detective, Viewpoint(c) and Reboot(c), and hit titles such as FIFA Soccer π96, Road Rash and Shock Wave(c) that have been re-engineered to fully exploit the unique capabilities of the PlayStation architecture.
