Hey, there! Don't ya fall asleep unless ya got a hot shot this night!
So, the rule here is very simple - if you can, want and will have some lovin'
fun this evening, day or night and you're totally finished up just go ahead
and fall into some soft bed. BUT, something tells me you got better things to
do than havin' sex all the time, and one of those things is to read WaVe MaG!
Enough of forplay, now we'll talk about facts!
Fact number one is that we FINALLY made it and got a damn WWW page online!!
The page is really, really, really under construction (as you will probably
notice when you check it out), but it will do some very important jobs for us,
which were to help spreading this magazine more widely and make it avaiable
all day long!
The next internal news is the departure of some good friends who went out to
seek for new experiences with other magazines - we hope you have fun there,
guys! Further We are again able to send WaVe via email! I hope i was able to
keep all the subscriber's email addresses! If NOT please forgive me and re-
send them to WaVe@ccnux.utm.my.
The last two weeks were very different from those before and this release is
the first one in a very long time that was mainly managed by BlackMagic and i
think she did a wonderful job with it and was more than a relpacement for me,
and if she's willing to i'd be happy to pass on more work to her in future :)
{she edited all the articles, but this one, so i bet she's gonna kill me in
#wave when she reads it .. be there! may be fun! cL!}
Now, as holiday-time seems to be over in most of the countries our whole staff
is back in action and we welocme back RaVe and Prodigal as well as we are
happy to have all the new members with us!
Once more we have to end the intro with some 'excuses':
We recevied many complaints about our coding - well, the code is crap, but
one thing about the code is not crap, but WANTED! All the other e-mags
decided to go for ONE exe file or ONE dat file. WaVe does NOT use this
linking! This is NOT due to lack of coding skills (as dpmi and object linking
is made very easy and addressing memory directly ain't much more difficult
than writing file-names!), but due to handling matters! For the editors it is
a lot easier to change things right before the release and fix stuff when we
have the single files, and additionally this method also gives YOU the chance
to alter the code... If you have fun with making programs go crazy and do very
weird things go ahead and edit the cfg files or put 20kb ansis instead of
those we have now, but perhaps you will want to use your own HSC file or your
own font and all you have to do to implement those is to copy them over the
old files...
And finally, yeah i hear your sighs now, we are sorry for the delay of WaVe
MaG this time, but when both coders and half the editor-staff is on vacation
it is hard to release. Next WaVe will be out on Saturday Night (cet about
23:00) on the 5th of October!

What the fuck is happening to the scene at the moment? Shit, this can't be..
A cool board like Cryptic Slaughter went offline, so did Maverick's
Pentackle, which had been around a VERY long time... I mean, where is this
leading to? All the sysops have to be more and more careful because
somebody might wanna fuck with them. You guys can't be serious. Good groups
like Energy die off and there are only a few left... Who the hell wants to
do stuff anymore anyway?
I don't think that envy is the only reason for all that like Maverick
stated in his Good-bye text... I'd rather say this is some personal,
no remorse kinda stuff...
Somebody who takes money for busting people is prostituting himself,
probably just because he's in biiig trouble himself??? Deby Deby ;-)
Come on strip ;-) Well, this isn't too laugh about, I'd rather cry...
It wouldn't surprise me if some people coming from the Cryptic Slaughter
zone would press the eject button and leave the scene. I guess we'll have
to wait and see...
But here's Maverick's Good-bye text again for everybody who hasn't read it

MAVERICK:
After risking my ass for several years just to make software accessible to
some usrs, I'm sick of it! Cryptic Slaughter has been online since Feb.
1992 and has had bad times and good times. And most of my users supported
me all the time. I am a little sad since sysoping becomes a way of life
after a while. But I can't stand it anymore. I remember the good old times
when we all were "in the same boat" and there really WAS a a SCENE. Back then
everything was based on friendship, no commercial stuff involved at all.
But nowadays so-called "insiders" get a lot of dough to bust people and
several hate mails containing sys-pws, numbers etc. are passed around.
I've never been a wimp and I never went offline because of any bust risks
because I as a sysop was aware of the risks. But what has happened over
the past couple of months is too much.
Almost all of Germany is kinda dead at the moment and there are only 3 good
boards left. One of which is Cryptic Slaughter. And just because some jerks
are envious and can't stand it, threats are going around again. Considering
all the work and energy I've invested over the years, it's not worth the risk
anymore.
I'm getting older and I have to think about my own future. I don't think I
would get away with paying just a couple of thousand Marks when even those
"traitors" get like 10,000 DM for every board they bust.
Over the last couple of months the Cryptic Slaughter BBS has become one of
biggest systems (hardwarewise) and I don't think people will believe me if
I tell them that about 90% of the hardware was donated by my users. I have
never sold any cd or tape subscriptions, although many people asked for them.
My users know that they were nerver running the risk of being "asked" to pay
for stuff like that like on other systems.
For security reasons the system was moved several times over the past 2 years,
sometimes even to other area codes. But now that is not possible anymore due
to the size of the system (10xISDN). Besides that I don't think it would be
of much help since a lot of the old "insiders" change sides and work for the
feds now.
Today I came along another one of those hate texts in which I was told
that I would be busted soon. I don't think too much much of those texts,
but I don't know why I should still risk my ass for a couple of idiots.
I have decided to put Cryptic Slaughter offline. This will be forever!
When you are reading this text, all hds have already been formated and
all userdata has been deleted. I have NOT made any backups and CS! will
definetely NEVER go online again! Neither under my nor under any other
management.
I'd like to thank a couple of friends who have helped make CS! what it has
been till today - one of the fastests systems in Europe. Unfortunately I
had to do it this way, actually I wanted to put up some telnet nodes in the
near future, but it wasn't supposed to happen, I guess.

The word reincarnation simply means the rebirth of the soul into another body.
I believe we reincarnate to improve our spiritual evolution; our earthly exist
-ences are our learning grounds.
I believe that we choose to be reincarnated and that before we are, we know

for. I also believe that we are already aware of the circumstances ahead of
us in our earthly life. However, there has been times when i wonder why i
would have chosen certain things to happen and it is not not untill long
after that the set circumstances are behind me, that i realise why i was meant

We also choose the sex we will be, that is, before we reincarnate we know if we
are going to be a man or woman, and if we are going to be heterosexual or gay.
I also believe that the important people in our lives this time round are
those we have known before. However, i do not think that they have always
played the same role, for example, your mother might have been your daughter
in a previous life.
The Buddhists and Hindus believe that a person's actions in one incarnation
determines his fate in the next.
There are several methods that can be used to find out who we were in our
previous lives. One of the most poplular is hypnotherapy. It is also possible
to discover our previous existences through clairvoyancy; using this method
you can also work out what relationship other people have had with to you.
First sit down and allow your mind to totally relax, then ask for impressions
of yourself in a past life. This may not work straight away, however after one
or two attempts you will find that other impressions start coming to you.
The only thing then you need to do is take note of them.

Okay well my life in the past 2 weeks has been relatively good. At the moment
it is a few hours before wave is to be released and i have been roped into
writing an article. as usual i will give a commentry of my life. Fuck you are
probably all bored by now but guess what.. I don't care.. just kidding i love
you all except those who's names relate to socially unnacceptable poultry..
Anyway this week i have had 2 university exams and have also had to do a
speech. I'm ecstatic. For once in my life im pulling in high-distinctions 100%
in 2 subjects. For the uni students among us i'm sure you know what kind of
achievement this is.. i'm fucking proud and that's that.
Okay well haven't seen any new movies this week (will go see something soon i
take it) also as far as music goes i have no become obsessed my mp3's.
The quality of these music files is incredible. My only gripe about it is that
not enough songs are being ripped. And also the majority of songs are all
heavy-metal. Shame but oh well some time this week i am going to start
ripping hardcore techno. If anyone wants any of these songs lemme know!
Also We at WAVE need ftp couriers, Sites, BBS's , Web Pages etc ect this is
a public plea. We can't go on as is. We need your help. We have the potential
to be a great emag (better than RCN - Rebel Chickens Nuts) so how about

A couple of years ago many ppl on the scene had a bit of a racist behavior
but that have gone to the total opposite, all that you see nowadays are
wannabe niggahz or white niggahz ( from now on i will refer to them as
wiggahz ). Since it seems to be so popular and that i haven't done anything
other for the mag this week =] i thought i might wanna give you folks a hint
how to be a normal, white, elite, computernerd and STILL be a straight-up G.
1.) Get a good script
There are plenty of good or at least cool scripts like Gangster and
Niggah.irc, the special thing is that they have cool ops and kicks that is
very usable for the wiggah
2.) Get a cool "real name"
There are several cool realnames to choose, for example "compton niggah" or
just a name of a song like " ANY LAST WERDS ?".. Avoid names like "Badass-
motherfucking-G-straight-outta-south-central-with-a-bang" as they might seem
a bit TOO niggerish to be true
3.) Walk the walk
When a guy on the scene is bad to you, don't just threaten him to remove
him from his best site and group, threaten him to do a driveby or break into
his house and snuff his mom or something like that, wigghaz don't just nuke
ppl from sites because that's lame and white behaviour.
4.) Talk the talk
A real wiggah don't EVER under ANY circumstances use the words the, ok, friend,
"how are you doing" or female, a real wiggah uses the words tha, werd,
homie/bro/niggah, sup and bitch. So if you wanna be a real g, erase the words
the, ok, pal and female from your vocabulary.
*NOTE* it's not wise to say the word bitch or hoe or hood-rat to the leader of
your group if that leader is a female so don't
5.) Botinfo
If you are elite enough to be in a group with bots these bots can easily be
used for showing ppl how much gangster you are, so please use the words
"niggah, beyatch, gangstah" etc. etc. in your botinfo, at least 50% of a well
known couriering group has done the thing that i just mentioned and look how
elite they are now :)
Well, that's all i have from now, the deadline is closing in and my
imagination is dissapearing so i don't think that i will be able to proceed
this article now but if you want me to, i'll think out a couple of other

So... i had many, many problems with this logfile!
First of all: i do NOT know who gave it to WaVe! Another team member sent me
the original log file telling me it was sent to WaVe by someone else. He/She
could NOT remember who exactly it was!
Also i could not figure out point of time and channel of this capture!
About 20 seconds after i received the file Site#B-SiteOp messaged me and told
me to delete the log right away and NOT publish it! Welp... to be honest:
if he hadn't shown so much interest in having it out of the public the chance
that i wouldn't have read it were quite good as i had alot to do then and i
use to forget MANY things! Also WaVe once decided to make accusations ONLY
avaiable for the Public IF we can put a handle behind it! So, to get back to
the story - when i read this: 'it's a fake - delete it!' shit from the man
i thought to myself: 'WasSup there? gotta be some interesting and hopefully
bitchin' story!?' .. so, i went ahead and read the thing. And, well ... it was
not SOOOOOOOOO hot.. Then i asked the SiteOP: 'why don't you want it to be
printed?' and then i found out, that it was only a matter of Security for the
Site, the Operators and the Groups. Also i talked to one of the participants
in this discussion and he told me the thing was TRUE, NOT FAKED, but he also
didn't want it to be published - no reason given, though.
Then the time came when i asked some friends for help on the decision and what
i/we decided was to replace all the 'real' names with FAKED ones ;)
This makes the article less attractive, but it helps the involved people!
Still the problem is discussed and we'll also have some interviews with other
traders and SiteOPs on this subject.

UNION. The name of the merge is PENTAX. We'd like to wish to all new

<*> World famous games group PRESTIGE stole a game from HYBRID's members'
private shell account. The game is called PRO PINBALL: THE WEB for Win95,
and when PRESTIGE stole it, it was just ready to be out: Ripped and well

future, since they're a good games group, and we all know 'em for their
high quality releasing standards.

SHOCK. our irc channel was taken over last night <22/9> by a local lamer
called DYNAMIC. Luckily, OUTBREAK convinced him to give him ops, and he

and only members are allowed so there won't be any take-overs in the near

Can you tell me how long you have been involved in the console scene?
<Breakdown> 4 years+
<SHaRK> Yep, & what are the groups you have been in ? & also your jobs for
these groups?
<Breakdown> Mystic (trader), Sneakers (sysop trader supplier),
Reaction (leader,trader supplier), FUCK (not the original :) )
and F4CG (only one game supplied) and some others I forget also
I am in Lightning (PC)
<Breakdown> Ahh I forget one important one CREAM
<SHaRK> Thats a few groups ==B-), lets talk about Sneakers & Reaction,
I understand Reaction was the "other" FUCK after a name change,
<Breakdown> Yeah Reaction was first FUCK coz we thought the old FUCK was
dead but not so so we changed to Reaction (we were much more
successfull under Reaction anyways heheh)
<SHaRK> How did you get into these groups? & what made them such a cool
releasing force?
<Breakdown> Ahmm well I traded a ton (I started in Europe then moved to the
US) and people wanted me to trade 0-hour stuff, ahmmm also in
the case of REACTION there were 3 of us that were fed up with
the constant I AM THE LEADER AND YOU DO WHAT I TELL YOU attitude
in many groups
<SHaRK> Yes I was also in FUCK but I quitted the scene during that time.
Were u a founder of FUCK ? Or was that THE UNKNOWN GAMER?
<Breakdown> As I recall it was TUG, Mr. Mister and myself since we had known
each other for quite a while before that
<SHaRK> For the people in the know, Reaction was quite a different group to
FUCK, much more powerful, what made these changes?
<Breakdown> We had some inside contacts and we also sat down and kinda
established that everyone in the group had a say in everything
so there were no real leaders just people that organized the
releases etc. ! This motivated all of us and all was well until
2 of the 3 'organizers' felt it was necessary to merge with
Prestige and form Cream (I wont say who those 2 were heheh)
We also had some inside contacts in EA etc. (if you look we got
almost all EA games produced in that time period)
<SHaRK> So these insiders are the releasers that got the games before they
hit the stores? That explains the speed of them!
<Breakdown> Yeah and also we (TUG and I) finally turned 16 so we could drive
and pick up store relases heheh
<SHaRK> 16? Wow you guys were that young??? I never knew!?
<Breakdown> Well I am 18 now so yeah I was 16 at the time I guess
<Breakdown> Ahmm when I started in Europe I was 13 years old and had a super
modern modem : a 14.4 USR HST ! top of the line hehehhe
<SHaRK> So lets talk about your personal releases, did you get them from
stores or was there some other way you had?
<Breakdown> Ahmm well myself I picked them up from stores and a few times I
got a few of BBS's in Hong Kong (like Sigma Seven and all those
other Jap suppliers)
<SHaRK> Cool so please tell our many readers about the workings of the
HONK KONG BBS's? How did they work? Did you have to make deals with
them like giving them something in return for fast files?
<Breakdown> It depends on the sysop, some will take US games in return and
others you just beg :) usually you had to trick the automatic
call back system so they thought you were a local customer
<SHaRK> Yeh I remember a txt file saying about that hehe. How active are the
native Hong Kong dudes in the "western" scene, besides Sonic...
<Breakdown> I only know of maybe 2 that ever really got into it but it
usually was Euro guys on cards or blue boxes calling out and
bringing the stuff to the west
<SHaRK> You mean dudes like Sigma Seven, Papillon?
<Breakdown> Yeah and Winston when he moved to Japan and him and Sigma worked
together closely
<SHaRK> OK, so what made you decide to be in the consoles scene? What
attracted you to it? Was it just the style of the games? Or the
small files sizes? Or??
<Breakdown> It was the people that were in it. It is not hard to be a
succesfull amiga or pc trade because there are 400 megs to go
around but in the console scene when there are maybe 2-5 games
a day it is fucking hard to get them on great boards like
The Ghetto or Hall of Fame or the best of them all
TOTALLY NUKED :)
<SHaRK> Haha yes Totally Nuked was THE fastest! What with me trading on it &
all ==B-) so how did you manage to trade fast? ie. get the files
fast AND upload to places fast?
<Breakdown> Well you get to know guys and they tell you: listen I am gonna
release at 8:00 pm on board XXXXXX be there ! And otherwise you
just cruize the boards w8ting for some software
<SHaRK> & that is why Snes trading was fast & furious! So the PC & console
scene were very different, & only a few could be fast snes traders.
What did u think of the organization between PC groups & console
groups? Which you prefer & why?
<Breakdown> I like console more ! Its more personal and one gets to know the
guys ( i speak with about 10 guys voice still 2day just about
every day stuff)
<SHaRK> So are the old guys still around? The Sneakers, the Paradox,
Reaction, Cream, Premiere guys etc?
<Breakdown> No most are gone ! There are a few that are still around but
not many
<SHaRK> Yeh its too bad they are not still here, what do you think of the
groups that are still keepin the scene alive? Like Arcadia, Oldskool,
& I even saw a Cream release recently (T2 arcade game) & Anthrox
of coz with Sigma Seven ==B-)
<Breakdown> The scene is really lame and anyone with a video store around
the corner good do a better job
<SHaRK> So you are saying that there are releases out there that havent been
released ?
<Breakdown> Dunno but it would be easy to get them faster than people are
supplying them
<SHaRK> Are you no longer supplying? & no longer in the groups?
<Breakdown> I am only in LGT and kinda see whats going on in the console
scene but I think that the motivation is gone until there is a
N64 backup unit
<SHaRK> Have you heard much of this backup unit??
<Breakdown> Ahmm I have heard that it is being made but they want to see if
the games remain copyable since there are not very many out yet.
Also I know that DMESSIAH is doing some of the GFX for the copier
GUI but is not sure if they will be used in the final product
<SHaRK> Ah rite, what bout the guys that worked on the SWCDX like TWK, Pan,
have they any involvement?
<Breakdown> Not as far as I know but who knows
<SHaRK> As I've noticed, there wasnt many fighting going on in the old scene
(unlike the pc scene) but one incident I remember is the
CHRONO TRIGGER duping one, which involved SWAT & SNK, what exactly
happened there or was it truly dishonest moves going on?
<Breakdown> I dont think I should comment on that because i feel that the
only thing that SWAT ever did for the scene was bring the bad PC
attitude into the scene
<Breakdown> Is this like a real mag ????
<SHaRK> Umm yeh... its real... why?
<Breakdown> As in published on news stands or just kinda a e-mail mag thingy?

Hmmm this looks familiar??? A channel takeover. I'm sure you all know about
this sorta stuff that is going on every day on the IRC. Sometimes it pisses
you off, sometimes it makes you happy, sometimes you don't care, etc etc.
Now, I'm just thinking, if your channel got taken over, sure it'd piss
you off, because it's YOUR channel, even though u don't OWN it, you still
made it, got your friends into it & it becomes YOUR meeting place. So of
course you will be angry. But, unless the channel is a very important place
for example your business/company's channel, does it really matter that much?
Will you lose sleep trying to get it back? Will you let your emotions get
the better of you when you see this? This is but just one example.
I think some people take things too seriously on the IRC. Unless your
whole life is based on the internet, then why are you so angry/upset? Think
about it, when your channel is taken over, take your eyes off the screen,
and your hands off the keyboard & look around you! What do you see?
Your room? OK, now take a walk outside, you see your house, go outside your
house, & you will see the street, the other houses, then the suburb, the
country, & the world! Will losing a channel affect ANY of these things?
Does losing a channel mean the sun will not shine the next day? The sky will
turn brown? The birds will bark?! Men will grow tits?? Your bank balance will
decline? Your mother will die? ...NO! It will affect NONE of these things,
the things that are IMPORTANT!
Is IRC & the internet THAT important? I don't think so. Unless we are at
the age & time like in SHADOWRUN (example) where cyberspace plays a very
large part of their REAL life, where they can get involved physically or
financially, etc, then it is but just a SMALL part of you!
Sure, sometimes its fun to fight back & regain your channel. Its also
fun sometimes to get granted ops, to join a warez group, to get the latest
or not so latest files for free, to have cybersex (!? pfff..) BUT if one day
you find yourself getting angry & red in the face because you were refused
these things, or you find yourself slamming your fist on the wall ecause of
it, or crying in frustration, then it's time you know you are forgetting the
BIG PICTURE, the REAL things! It's time to take a break & remember what its
all about: FUN, ENTERTAINMENT, etc. Something to make you smile ==B-)
something you LIKE doing (would u be logged on if you hated doing it?)
So, take a look around, go outside, see some friends, pick up some chicks,
do some drugs, have a a drink! & remember whats important, your LIFE; it is
meant 2 be LIVED!

This is a little column i write...then the readers e-mail me and say what
they think about the subject...if it's right or wrong or anything at all.
First of i would like to complain about some groups (no names). i was in a
couple of channels last night and some ppl needed help...sure they'll help i
thought to myself they are nice guys....NOT...they started to bitch the guy
around telling him how lame he was and that he should go find it himself (1
disk).
Fuck that's cheap i could have put a log of some channels that did NOT help
anyone at all but i won't. My point is....help the end users....if they need a
disk of some game or app just help 'em to find it or if you have it send it
after all they are the ones you are releasing for not the other way around....
Note: not all people are that way, some people are REAL nice
well now you think i'm bitchin' and shit....well i am but i would also like to
say thanks to the groups that work very hard to get the releases out to the
people fast, though sometimes they don't work...who cares it's fucking free and
most of the times there are fixes....
K. so the question for this issue is....is it this way....do you get bitched
when trying to get someone to help you?

Well....this game didn`t work for me and what about you????
1st when i copied the files from the zip files some of the files was rared
and some of dome unrared so the installer was unrared and when i ran it
it asked me for vesa/Sound card and after that, it got stuck thats all!
and after that one, i searched for more exe, bat, com files and i found some..
and i ran them and it also got stuck so Dragon check the release before
you release it!

Hmmm Hmm hmm another non working game welp they wrote that we should run
the ABS.EXE for this game so as they wrote i did it wrote something about
the ABSOLUTE.INI file so i checked this file and i say 0 byts! so i unpacked
it again and again its 0 byts then i decided to run the installation i ran
it and it wrote that i should run the SETUP.EXE file 1st so i did and it
wrote me something like that: INSERT THE CD-GAME INTO THE CD DRIVE...
they wrote that it has multi cd check but they didn`t crack it....
