Welcome back! For some very misterious reason Issue#4 comes with a small delay
of about ONE MONTH. Now, the reason could be decribed as follows:
- walking on two feet.
- stupid like hell.
- slow like turtles.
- blind like sport-shoes.
- stinky like bats.
- nerving like the damn phone by my side.
If you did not get it yet i'll help you a bit more... POLICE! See, if 7 people
get busted on one day and some of them are chief-editors of the magazine it gets
quite hard to release the thing. As we lost 90% of the work we had already done
(they came about 5 days before the release!) and the editors had to get some new
computers (i got a great 486 with a 40mb HD as big as my two 1.3gb, which serve
the state now) i am really proud, that we managed to get the issue out at all!
Jester Radics joined the editing staff and some other interior things changed.
We lost our so long awaited e-mail and internet adress, but we are already on
the way to get some new ones, so that you will finally be able to respond to our
articles! As always (it's really the fourth issue already!) we got the standart
shit and some additionals. We are still missing a good game report, an internet
section and more, more, more people who want to write for us whatever comes to
their mind! With that, and the advice for you to READ IT ALL! i'll send you out
and wish the scene a good time!

ASMODEUS was just flying on his CYBER ANGEL, when he saw HELLRAISER, who pulled
up to the bumper of LESTER. His duck, QUACKERS, got angry, because he didn't
want to loose TOMAS along with his CAPTAIN WILLY. So, seeing all this they
called the CELESTIAL WIZARD. Wise as he was he sayd: 'I will be the referee of a
CHAINSAW MASSACRE between you two, and the winner will get THE COMET award, even
though it's as ugly as the face of CRAZY BALDHEAD. But, before the math could
start the evil DARK ANGEL appeared. He was the one who once sent DOLITTLE to
alcatraz for manipulating his cock-device. As EVIL ADVISOR he colored Rodman's
hair purple and faked his name to FOBMAN. This fighter joined the match and flew
around like THE GHOST WIND. An HAMMER in his right hand and a magnum (-ICE) in
the other he became the key player for the bad team. But, their coach did not
consider THE JOKER Ivy League. This big bad problem was solved by MR.BILL, who
payed a porno star to present a hot NIGHT VISION behind their defence. As their
chains were mad of a POLYMER, which was invented by an reanimated PHARAOH. So
THE RESISTANCE raised to a higher level. As ROLAND fell on his nose he sang the
mega-in SCROOGE-rap, and ended his life with a wonderful <SIGH>. All on the
field became SICKBOYs and though SLAYER smashed their show as cheerleaders the
plays became more and more unbloody. In order to get his strength back SOCRATES
ate a SPYDER piece by piece, leg by leg. But, when the star-center THRAWN became
a bit to WAYWARD and Zorlac cut off his right arm. This was the decicive action,
and so the good guys won, but prefered to DRINK, not to DIE.

Today's scene is sucking! Everybody is fucking everybody! That's why i am
writing this kind of comment ... This and last month a lot of scene guys have
been busted by the fucking police! I hope there is nobody who works together
with them. A big ordinary fart goes out to the dudes who write such texts as the
info about maverick [VTX] and his bbs! That's absolutly unprofessional and
childish ... in my eyes such wakos have to be fucked by the whole scene ... At
the moment we must think about the situation in the scene and we have to be more
private and i hope that there are not so many guys in business who want to get
more money from the users.

Yes, it's true. Now it's possible that PCBoard PPE's will be infected by a
virus. We all know the sucking fake releases which try to delete the PCBoard
PATH, but that's not what i mean ... if you install any new PPE it's possible
that the coder integrated a kind of virus which let's your Pcboard run as buggy
as any other software which is infected by a virus. If you don't believe in me
ask the members of the great PPE Group AEGIS, which has coded the ultimate PPLX
Decompiler. Try to get the Decompiler to be sure that your PPEs are not infected
by any shitty virus or backdoor. You can also use the PPLD Decompiler!

i really tried to translate the whole thing, but time is short and my english
also has its limits. I would like to thank RoY and RaVe very much for the text,
and i will try to include a complete translation in issue#5, but this one has to
make it for now. cL!}
RaVe: Hi, this is RaVe for The WaVe Magazine... I want to ask you
some questions about yourself and SAC...
RaVe: Where are you from and how long have you been in the scene ?
Roy : I am from Berlin and i am directly active in the scene dor about 4 1/2
years. Indirectly, means over a pal of mine, i am involved for about five
years.
RaVe: How did everything start? history?
Roy : Somehow i always had this faible for computers. With about eleven a friend
got an ATARI, and so we started playing stupi little games, like:
Int.Karate,Swat,Archon,Kickstart... Since then i was heading for my own
machine. I am from the former GDR, and so i had no chance to get one until the
Wall finally fell in the end of 1989. For about three months i used the access
to a C128D to gain some knowledge in programming (mainly grafics and sound).
1990 i finally bought my own ATART 800XL with floppy, but i sold it again
after i got bred by playing. My father then bought a PC (Highend: 386DX/25, 4MB
RAM, 80MB HD and 24 Nadel Drucker for 3800,- DM). I hated the beeping sound and
so i bought a soundblaster two months later. After several problems with the
handling the biggest new problem became to get new software. Then i didn't know
anyone else who owned a PC. This changed when i went to a new school to make my
graduation (ABI). There i met someone who called himself UFONAUT. He got me most
of the games, as our friendship and trading developed. Over some freak of the
Berlin computerclub he came to the point where he should code intros for a PC-
Group. Ufonaut bought a modem and so i could follow his first calling
activities. I also helped a bit with the releases of XEROX and in the beginning
of '92 i bought my first own 14.400HST. Then it really stareted: trading,
chatting, bb, ... Oh, sure... my first ansis were painted then, too. Ufonaut
said i should make one for a box (MELMAC BBS) and the sysop liked it, so i am
still painting.
RaVe: Can you code or something like that?
Roy : Yo, a bit BASIC and TP in school.
I learned COBOL as apprentice and for work i programm ABAP/4 for SAP,
Visual Basic and some Foxpro and SQL. Private only PPL... ain't got the
time for more.
RaVe: What do you think about the scene at the moment ?
Roy : I like to talk about the good old times of 92-93, but this is gone.
Since BB had died and stuff was only avaiable on CDs the scene went down
rapidly. Quality was lost. But it's nice to see, that this is changing
again.
RaVe: your favourite games, utils ...
Roy : Games: Doom-like games (DOOM,DUKE NUKEM 3D...). in the past ADVENTURES,
Supaplex and MY VERY FAVOURITE GAME is INTERNATIONAL KARATE 1 on C64 or
Amiga (i am still waiting for a PC-VGA (not the CGA) version hehe)
Utils: PC-BOARD hehe, THE DRAW, DPAINT, NC , PKZIP ...
RaVe: what do you think about words like "LAMER" & "ELITE" ?
Roy : I ask you. Who decides, who is lame and who is elite?
All that is bullshit... there are two possiblities ... somebody can do
something for the scene(s) or against it.
RaVe: What do you think about cybersex :)?
Roy : I like Science Fiction, but more the philosophic ones.
RaVe: So what group did you first join and how?
Roy : my first group was CARDINALS, founded April 1993 by UFONAUT,ACE and ME ;)
(CARDINALS was a Trainergroup and joined TRSI/FAITH in the end of 1993)
RaVe: When did you first start up SAC and with whom?
Roy : SAC started end of 1994, the first pack came out for the party 4 in
Denmark. The founders were Hetero,Kaethe,Dream Design and me.
The Idea of a Stuff-Scene oriented Art group based on some talks
between Hetero and me.
RaVe: You ran a Board called Closed Society. Tell me something about the
history of the BBS.
Roy : So, in the beginning of 94 i built up the board with Monday.
He already used PCBoard 15.0 for a one-node-BBS. The board then came to me
with 2 modem-lines. We changed the name from Tranquilizer to Closed
Society. Some months later i opened my third modem line. ISDN joined June
'95. Well... it took some time, but we had to invest a bit money, which we
had to get first.
RaVe: sooo... about the board - sysops ?
Roy : Sysop: Roy , Cosysops: CHRISTO , CYZ and GEE
GEE is the new 3rd CO-Sysop coz i fired THE OUTLAWS from this position.
RaVe: nodes?
Roy : 3 modem , 2 isdn 3 + 2 = 5 hehe
RaVe: pcb-version ?
Roy : PCB 15.22 Orginal 10 Nodes Licence
RaVe: hardware?
Roy : 486/100 , 16 MB Mem , OS/2 Warp , 2,4 GIG HD
RaVe: group affiliations?
Roy : me : SAC , DYTEC

Roy : 100 hehe... about 30-50 % non scene guys (personal friends hehe coz i
have no answering machine and 80% of my friends have a PC and
a modem or ISDN)

Roy : IBM , ART , PCB (at the time 1700 tools but soon about 3000)

RaVe: what's the difference to other boards?
Roy : my bbs is like the "mixed boards" in the past.. not stuff only ..
cool demos from big partys are more welcome as GLUECKWUNSCHKARTEN-
DRUCKEREI by DATABECKER xx disks hehe
RaVe: do you sometimes get rude to users ?
Roy : as other human beings when they had had a bad day.
RaVe: anything against leechers/leeching?
Roy : stuff exist, to get leeched hehe

Roy : N O ! ... REMEMBER: DO IT JUST 4 FUN (this you find in many nfo files
of different groups... I wrote it first in the TOaO nfo file and its my
OPINION!)
RaVe: so you got ISDN and 28k8 support?

Roy : When he is okay and I like him very much or a guy i like very much
likes him hehe
I made some mistakes in the last month and users got axs, who were not
ok... i hope i learned enough from that ... the thing i hate most doing
the sysop-job is to delete a user.
RaVe: Any favourite ppes you use?
Roy : No, coz they are not progammed yet.
(thats the resons for me to start coding PPEs)
RaVe: What can you tell me about the SAC organisation, any differences in the
organisation now if you look back in the SAC history...
Roy : Yes, a little bit.. coz the group is three times larger than in the
beginning. It's not so easy to come to a decision, coz some of the sac's
are very passive and don't tell their opinions..especialy the votings
for new applys.
RaVe: What does it take to be a leader of a group as great as SAC?
Roy : The problem is, that i am not the leader of SAC.. i am the guy who is
most reachable for requests and talks...
RaVe: Any hints to leaders in other groups on how to become successful in their
way of organizing...?
Roy : Be honnest, discuss problems with other guys in a chat and not in TXT
files.. and you have to feel responsible for all what the group does.
RaVe: Who's in the current leadership of SAC?
Roy : all sac members.. but only the ones who are interested in the
developement of the group..
RaVe: What can you tell me about ICE and ACID?
Roy : other art groups.. very much older than SAC ... but not scene oriented
as SAC is..
RaVe: So what's going on in SAC right now ?
Roy : We will split the PPE-Section off from SAC.. you will see it next days
i hope...
RaVe: How many of the SAC members have you actually met ?
Roy : all beside: Neophyte , Monster , Giovanni and you hehe
RaVe: What's your favorite BBS throughout the years ?
Roy : boards who are stil online ?! ... mmh..

Roy : Superior Art Creations.

learned softing logos and pixling 3d from ;) )

RaVe: How do you look at the fact that floppy-scene died and CD-ROM became the
only way to continue releasing?
Roy : All things change... We have to live with it and to do all we can, to
get back the quality standard of 1993.
RaVe: What's your opinion on the internet scene, will the BBS-scene die?
Roy : I think it's the future for the next few years.
RaVe: Anyone you like/hate more than others in the scene and why?
Roy : yes there are some guys.. but its nothing for a public mag.

RaVe: How do you look at germanys Art scene?
Roy : like the demo scene in the US hehe.. (for insiders hehe)

Poseidon : Sysops of SilenT SySteM BBS are: Poseidon (myself heueh),
Radical Avenger, Gizzmo, Mozart! and 49er.
Every Co-/Sysop has his own job.
JR : nodes ?
Poseidon : Silent has 6 Nodes. 4 times ISDN, 1 28.8k and ONE local ;)
JR : hardware ?
Poseidon : 5 386/dx 40 Workstations with 2 MB RAM and Novell-Boot-ROM.
Novell Server (DX 4/100) with 2 Ethenet-Cards,
16 MB RAM and 3.6 GB HD space (I think it's enough for a BBS).
And MY machine, but who cares?
JR : group affiliations ?
Poseidon : JusT˙4˙PhuN HQ, XADI (dist), TUR (it's now AMNESIA),
Hype and SSTR (it's only an own FUN group)
JR : how many users ?
Poseidon : ca. 70
JR : best time to call ?
Poseidon : Everytime. But the best time to call is from 20.00-2.00 o'clock
(but nodes could be busy)
JR : conferences (how many / specials) ?
Poseidon : 8 confs, nothin'special, ppe-conf, upload-conf and group-confs...
JR : what's the difference to other boards ?
Poseidon : mmhh .. most ppe's and tools I wrote myself (or Radical) ...
and i try to design the best optics.
The User online should have no wait-times and fun by using
and calling the board.
JR : your main aim ? stuff only ? fun ?
Poseidon : I think it's the fun. stuff comes and goes, but it's nice to talk
to different people.
Stuff is not unimportant, i think many callers are only calling
to trade their newest warez and they don't want to talk,
chat or write messages. But for me it's a hobby to run the board.
And I want to make it run best.
JR : do you sometimes get rude to users ?
Poseidon : No. Never.
JR : anything against leechers/leeching ?
Poseidon : no. Somebody can only leech if he uploaded before (ratio) ...
JR : do you accept pay-users ?
Poseidon : Of course. Without them it's not possible to expand the board.
The money is ONLY used for expanding the BBS
(ex.: Server RAM, More Nodes, HD's etc..)
The board is paying it's running-costs by itself. I didn't want
to make profit with the board. It's [Just˙for˙PhuN]!
JR : do you have an INET address ?
Poseidon : not now.
JR : how can someone get onto your board ?
Poseidon : Simple contact a user who's calling ...
JR : any favourite ppes you use ?
Poseidon : My own! ;)

Poseidon : I think the scene is still alive, but many users buy cds
and don't trade. And if everybody buys cds no one is trading
and NO warez are swapping. So no CDs can sold ?!

Poseidon : Games like Warcraft, Command & Conquer etc ... PCB is my most
favourite game and util ;)
JR : what do you think about words like "LAMER" & "ELITE" ?

yoso.... i think one could say, that the SILENT SYSTEM BBS is one of the fastest
in germany right now... number one in the RUHRAREA... Considering the good
sysop-team and some steady uploaders the board seems to have a vital future.
PPEs are mainly self-productions of the sysop-team, but never the less they are
of high quality and efficiency. Sadly the board is not known very well, but this
is going to change, because groups like the former TUR!, who merged with a non-
german group, will probably send some traders, and they will for sure not be the
last big group to pitch their tents there.
{Ok, not too much for me to translate (record is still with roy), but why the
hell didn't you write in english yourself? In comparision to what i am used to
get your english is superb! cL!}

I hate these fuckin' police-BUSTards!
OK! I'm one of the poor little busted assholes! Yeah, it was really great,
'cause I came back from a school trip to WEIMAR (never remind me of that!) and
my mother said: "Go into your room! So now what is missing?" - of course this
was not a very hard question 'cause my sweet little computer was not at his
place! So i asked my mother when and how this had happened. She said: "i don't
know...I was not at home". I mean...we live in GERMANY...not in poland or some-
where...they really opened our door and kidnapped my computer! The only thing we
found was a sheet of paper. It told us about all the cruel crimes i did, like
calling free on a phone-number which ain't even mine and so on... The next
monday i called Mr.PIMPEL (this is only funny for germans, 'cause someone called

It's thursday the 28th of April, 9am. I was at work when my mother called me
(the first time she called me there) and told me that 5 people from the police
are at home and they are taking all my computers and phones, ... I talked with
one of the guys and he told me, that it's because the german Telekom thinks i'm
using some illegal ways to call and never paid for it. The official reason was
"... durch Manipulation der Steuerungseinrichtungen der Deutschen Telekom AG
weltweit Telefongespraeche gefuehrt zu haben ohne dass ihm dafuer Entgelte in
Rechnung gestellt werden konnten, ...". What they meant is calling via bb i
think. Whatever they meant i don't think they can prove anything. The guy also
told me that i'm not the only one. They busted Pascal, chug Lee, Jay Dee and
Manhattan too. They are all living here in my area. Later when i came back from
work i saw that they really took everything, all my phones, all computers, all
cables and even driver-disks and io-cards which were lying on my desk. What they
forgot was my little Amiga 1000 on which i'm writing this now :). I talked with
the others and it was the same situation there. From six other people they took
all kind of hardware with the same reason. After that day i didn't hear anything
from them. The guy told me he will call me back but he didn't do that yet. I
thought that was it then, five busts in my city (there were two others in other
cities that day) and it's over now, but it wasn't. Some days later they visited
another friend of mine but didn't find anything they could take (of course!?!).
They told him that they will bust more guys in other parts of germany real soon.
So i hope i will get my hardware back soon (i have to wait six months at least)
and that all the shit won't be too expensive for me because i'm not rich (the
cops thought that).

How to prevent a bust:

- Buy the software you use
=> if you pay the bill!?
- camouflage your computer as a microwave oven
=> i'm not a gay art-student!
- disassemble your computer when you don't use it (remember: The Computer is
a UNITY!)
=> Yes, and the Borgs will assimilate the screws then!
- Disconnect the power cable every time you turn off the computer
=> Yeah, the Police"Experts" will take the cable only
- Don't tell anybody that you've got a Board (nobody knows -> no risk)
=> Oh, yes, and then you can also delete the Board
- When the police rings your doorbell, just say there's nobody at home
=> No prob, but don't forget to change your voice!
- Next try:

- Hybrid's split: Dynamix = Crackpot + US-guys
Hybrid = Hoson + Euro-guys
Dynamix had some nice releases on the first days after the split. Also
Hybrid released some games. Now it seems they are both kinda inactive. I don't
think that this split was a good idea.
- Napalm became a real game-group and releases most of the games now.
- Dynasty: Vortex (VTX), Dytec and Empire of Darkness (EOD) merged to Dynasty.
I couldn't believe my eyes. Why did they do that? I hope we will have an
interview with one of the guys in the next mag. I don't think that this will
last very long. All these group-merges are shit. This works only if all members
of all groups are very good friends or if a very small group joins a big one,
but not if 3 of the best groups in germany are doing that. I'm sure after the
first fuckup of someone in group A the other guys in group B and C say "why did
we merge with this shit group A", then after the second fuckup (maybe someone in
group B) they will have lots of internal fights and after some months they are
vtx,eod and dtc again, or some other groups. All big merges ended that way.
- Shit-release of the month: Airlines released by Razor. This game seems to be
2 years old (copyright 1994) and that's how it looks like. Also 'bout 2 of the 3
disks were Acrobat Reader for DOS (4 or 5 years old?) for a manual which wasn't
included.
- The Wall (dod-whq, sysop: Roland) got busted.
I don't have any information about that because that was about two days
before the big bust here. The wall was the second best board in the US, so
there is only one good board left now.
