GOOOOOD MORNING!
Our team really managed to get a third babe out and we all are fuckin'
proud of that! For the first time we received some critics and there also seemed
to be some reactions to articles we published (you'll find the examples l8r in
this issue!). I am damn sorry, that we still do NOT have a real E-MAIL address,
so perhaps SOMEONE WOULD HELP US THERE, PLEASE!!!?!?!
And ANOTHER SORRY for even more mistakes and smaller bugs in issue#2, but hey,
no one is perfect, but we'll for sure get better...
But now... get ready for the sCENE-mAG with humor, improved styling and the most

I can't believe it! In the last issue i wrote an article about the right
way to release something - it was the 2nd article about this subject and i
really thought: what for? Who the fuck cares about what i think?
B U T it really seems that they do care about me! Many groups changed
their file_id.diz and this makes us believe that our work for the magazine
ain't for nothing. I'm so happy about this and so i decided to create an award
for the best thing that happenes during the month.

so... after our horror experience last month we came to the conclusion, that our
readers should also get at least some impression of HOW WaVe WORKS!
[btw... TLC are the best!]
So... new month - everyone is looking for interesting stuff he could write
about. Me and JD always start with the GaGa page... then i choose some poems of
mine and we search for an author who has not yet written his 'WHO AM I'...
Then we talk to the other chief editors (RaVe and Villain) and i start to get
on Elvin's nerves, because i KNOW he wouldn't write anything if i did not page
him day by day!
So, it's about the 20th of the month, and NO FUCKIN' ARTICLES are really done by
now. I start to call LD boards and ask people what's going on, and Villain calls
me up to get articles and more info about what's going to happen... then, i LIE,
just because i ain't got no damn idea what's going on or what we're going to
release! Days go by and about 5 days before we want to release the issue hell
is heating up! Normally it's some weird time (about 2-3 am) when i hear my modem
making horrible sounds -> RaVe's trying to get a connect! I start to sweat and
quiver and i am close to cry, because i know tooooo well, what's next.
After consuming a whole pack of tranquilizers and some alcohol i manage to sleep
again. The damn boring school day ends and back home i overwhelm my fear and
take a look at RaVe's upload.... 'AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH'
My standart reaction! ;) The next step is calling up JD or YeS, so i can perhaps
get some help with the translation or (and hehe) correction, but somehow they
both seem to be absent from the 26th on...
After 1 million hours of pure horror, tears, sweat and enormous heat i am damn
proud of myself, because: I MADE IT!! i really, finally finished the
translation, and it seems to be quite the same sense :)!!! So, happy again, i
call Elvin's board and upload the translation... tired, but cool again i go to
bed. THEN! night! mysterious sounds! OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

germans who ain't got no idea of english!
Without further explanations we'll give ya some examples of what we got yet:

Another Big problem were the increase of 3,4,5,6,7... Node Boards because
everybody could get 2,4,6 ISDN Nodes and though they tried to build up big
Boards without more or less success and with the increase of Boards there came
the increase of small unknown groups because nearly everbody wanted to be WHQ of
a group or so within 6 month there had been around 30 Boards haveing 5+ Nodes
and at least 1 WHQ , 2 EUROPEAN HQs on it [again exagerated but i nearly hit
the bullseye] Because of the overflooded german market there was just quantity
but not much quality in the year .

- this is ONE sentence...we had to make four out of it to give sense to it!
So! I don't know how we made it, but somehow the number of articles jumped from
1 (gaga page) to about 15 to 20 in two days, and we're ready for the
FINAL CORRECTION! reading and kicking my own mistakes (most of those) makes me
ALWAYS feel great! After i uploaded the FULL.6 (means.. the FULL ascii file
NUMBER SIX!.. just like win95 v.999999999) to elvin I started reading all those
quite harsh mails from RaVe and mainly Villain telling me, that somehow he's
getting angry about pasting all the articles over and over again.
Ignoring anyone and anything I answer the mails like:
put it together.
no more articles.
i am tired.
i only want to test beta.
The last day has come and i gave up telling them 'HEADCOUCH' ain't no damn-
fucking word! But, at least we reduced the 'ERRRRRORS' in comparison to our
first issue, and i am sure we'll at some point make a 'perfect' issue ;)

text i only got ONE from JD... --> we'll have a helly week coming up.

Well.. what would the scene be without 'fights'?
What would the scene be without INQ and NTM (now combined..wuahhh)?
Answer: boring.
Reason: No one from WaVe could push NTM down and run over it again and again...
I had the great pleasure to read the issues ONE through four of NTM and i am
really, really impressed how someone can be so boring all the time....
It starts with the fact, that the articles are all fuckin' long... Even if the
writers treat an interesting subject or got a nice style one really needs loads
of coffeine to stand a whole issue! I mean... hey, ASLAN's article was, in my
eyes, great to read and i was partially waking up my neighbours with my
laughter, but after the third (of 10) full 80x25 page it got quite hard...
especially after i had to go through the tranquilizer called 'Enigma Affair' ...
But enough... NTM got so many writers and editors who are quite 'famous', but
somehow they don't get the message over to the reader...
I was also quite impressed by the fact, that WaVe was NEVER mentioned... well,
perhaps they didn't consider us being a permanent pleasure for the scene, or
they made a huge mistake and didn't read us (don't really think so... as far as
i can see we got a lot of readers), but anyway - why don't we just get on their
nerves? i LoVe that and Tar Max....yeah, she got a stupid handle.. hey.. and
mummy..!.. and at&t... .
Anyway... i first wanted to comment every article, but i couldn't find any
really interesting ones (besides ASLAN's tale - hey, if u write for us next
month i'll get you some lolli..) before i fell asleep, and afterwards i had to
handle some bussiness ;). So, to agree with Crackpot: NTM sucks, and i am
waiting for some reaction... (i need another monthly column).

HY PALS...i'm buckaroo...
i'm in the scene for hmmm, let me think, 2 or 3 years...a friend showed me the
addiction of the german scene...first i traded between 2-3 boards...meanwhile
i joined DELIGHT-PC...that was my first group...:) afterwards i became co-sysop
of the C.P.(i don't wanna tell ya the name...coz the ex-sysop could get angry :)
on october 1995 my friend STARDUST and me had the idea to create an own group
called HYPE...we released some crap but also kewl games like turrican 2 etc...
in '96 i joined some more groups...:

BLH (i will be back to spread ya releases...:))
TUR (my friends cannot believe that...STARDUST i'm so sorry...:))
and at last CNC (i think one of the best german groups)...

Hey, I started out in the scene in the middle/end of '93, and got
hooked on trading (like a drug :). My first so called "elite" board
was Millinium Matrix, I see people over there getting 30 megs a week, and
I thought that was spectacular. Hehhe, I saw this person upload 1 gigabyte
and thought "My goodness, is this guy for real". Well things have changed
now, I've learned plenty these couple of years. My first real group, I
started out was X-force, and stuck by them, then came Tyranny and Risc.
I've got on to X-factor like in Febuary of 95, and soon became a
Co-Sysop there, I am very fond of that board, and every trader needs
a home to go to :). Hehhe, the first LD board I got on was the #1 board
till this day Park Central!.
A couple of months ago, I joined THE COUNCiL, as a USA courier.
I really like this group because it has a lot of talent and loyalty in
it.

I've been computing since 1981 or so, my first computer was a S-100,
it was made up of boards from many different companies and I made some
myself. I first started pirating around the same time, a friend and I
went to the local computerland and my buddy would keep the sales guy
busy while I copied the programs that were just laying around. In
those days there wasn't alot available, mostly Microsoft programming
stuff. Fortran, cobol, assembler, ect. But hey, I'll never forget the
thrill of driving away with thousands of dollars of free software. :™
My first modem was a direct connct 300 baud and I would call my home
computer from work, not that I had any real reason to, it just seemed
ya punk! cool to be able to call and operate it remotely.
I started out at Park Central around 1992 as a file dude. . after a
couple years on other boards I came back to help because Cocky he
couldn't call out. The staff here BTW is the best in the universe,

Mine is pretty hectic right now, but anyway we're not here to talk 'bout my
life except you call the Nox-Force comic my life, anyway here I go:
To be honest I didn't get very much further with the drawings and it looks
like cL! couldn't find some time for the storyline either, but we both
promise that we'll work on it [not :)], well trust us we will.
Well I don't want you to think that I didn't do anything at all, I'm not
cL! you know, I brought up alot of new ideas for Nox-Force. I just need some
more weeks for the first useable sketches, that means that you will
probably get to see some of them in issue #4 (I won't promise anything
here o.k.).
Oh and by the way don't take my stuff about cL! too serious, he has alot to
do lately, believe me if you would see his work for one month's issue you
would fall unconscious, so I'm just teasing [I'm a brat sometimes :)].
What I forgot to tell you last time is that we have an ally, USR (U.S.
Robotics), well most of you will know this ally as a pretty good hardware
company so we will change the name a bit until the first comic page is
finished.
And now listen up cL!, Jay Dee, two friends of us and me, myself and I of
course, we had a very special new idea for Nox-Force but I won't tell you
what it is cuz I'm a brat, no I won't cuz we all don't really know if this

STATE of AVERSiA! was busted today at high noon by the cops!
They took only! my A4k , up to 80 disks and sum phone bills. The rest like
modems/monitor were leaved with me. I was told using calling cards and buy/sell
software. Also they mentioned i was only one of 25 persons who were busted at
the same time!!
The reason i was busted is very simple, sum asshole gave information about me
and my bbs to the police half a year ago. Currently i dont know what fucker it
was, but i am sure i will find out!!! My hd's were crypted so dont feel panic if
you are one of the happy guys notbeing visited by the cops! For the sysops
remaining dont delete my accountsnor my double-account!
I dont think i will go online again as you can imagine, but i will be still
around.

by smaller groups (like Vortex, ...), but DOD is a HUGE group with a superb

Surely games/programs get bigger and bigger, but raising the limit from 30
(err.. 40 now i'd say) to 100 is a bit toooo hard, and tooooo fast.

but i am of the view that Marti is a cool Sysop.

WaVe Interview with Crackpot - Sysop of Park Central
1) About your BBS
-Sysops
Well, the founder of PC, the one thats truly responsible for its existence,
is Silver V. Though many may not see Silver V active in the scene, he
is the driving force behind the board. SV has been running the board
Park Central altogether for over 6 years now, and its his desire to keep
it up as long as he can. :) Over the last few years as PC has grown to
where it is now, SV has taken a more laid back approach to sysoping, and
in the process, has shielded himself from any negative hype going around.
I would have to say that as long as I have known him, this was the best
decision he ever made, because we all know the risks involved in running
a board, and also the negative fallout that can accompany it. He treats
PC as he has always treated his board, as a hobby. If all sysops practiced
this approach to running a board I could guarantee you we would see alot
more boards around now. Its greed and profiteering that have been the
fatal flaws in all the sysops who have been busted in years past. We like
the honest approach to running a board - it sure makes you feel a hell of
a lot more secure about your future! :)
As for myself, I am probably the person most people associate with the
board. Mainly because I have dedicated alot of time to the care and
maintenance of the board for the past 3+ years I have been a Sysop.
I do try my best to overtake all the responsibilities that I can at
my position, and also make sure I am as fair and just as I can. I
started with PC when it was still running WildCat (ick!) and had only
4 nodes. As you can see the board has grown quite a bit since that
point.. I like to think it was more than a coincidence. ;)
I should note that PC, as large as it is, requires a great amount of
attention, far more then any one man can handle. Thus the reason
there is a Staff composed of selected individuals that help out with
the board in their own way. I will make sure and give these individuals
the credit they deserve.
The PC Staff consists of myself and the following individuals:
COCKY - Now back from the dead, Cocky has been with PC almost as
long as I have, believe it or not. Though he has had some
probs calling out from Europe from time to time, he is and
always will be PC's File Sysop. Never have I seen a more
resourceful nuker, he can smell a fake, dupe, old file miles
away. He is one of the reasons PC has kept its integrity over
the years. He is also a great friend of mine and Silver V's..
CFA - Resident file cosysop, who I should note was with PC back in the
old days of PC, before it was the bigshot system it is now :)
ELVIN NOX - Resident PC guru. Elvin helps with some of the design
aspects of the system, and has been one of PC's most loyal
users ever. He is always there when ya need him, one of the
best things I like about him.
Other contributing individuals to the board include:

PCBoard v15.1 (yes, its an old version, but you know the saying.. <g> )
By the way, I should note, our software has ALWAYS been FULLY registered
through Clark. It is our belief that if one is truly serious about
running a system of any nature, they should purchase the software they
will be using to run it. We bought our copy close to 3 years ago, and
I would say it was WELL worth the sacrifice.

Lots of neato computers and stuff. I would prefer not to get into
the specifics :)

Currently PC is WHQ for Hybrid, RiSC, and Corp. We are also CHQ for the
coolest Euro group around: CNC! =)
We are very choosy about groups, and its only because the above groups
have the right approach to running a group that we took them on. I like
to think there is more to a group than releases, members, etc.
-How many users?
Oodles of the scene's finest :)
-How many pay-users?
NONE. Never have we resorted to such a shady practice to support the
board. We are proud to say that Silver V is financially sound enough
to support a board of this size, and thus need not depend on pay users.
-How much stuff a day?
Again, I don't like to publicize the details. Those who are on PC know this
stuff :)
-What's special or different on your bbs?
We have always tried our best to be as inviting to all of our users as we
possibly can. This includes making sure that our European users are
treated fairly. Unfortunately, few realize just how important the European
community is to the existence of the scene as we know it, and often times
this means Euro's are treated poorly by sysops. EVERYONE gets a fair
shake on PC, we don't discriminate.
-Favorite PPE(s)
Hmm, I like all our PPE's and I dont like choosing favorites :)
-How long have you been bbsing? Why?
Altogether, Around 6-7 years or so, though I have only been in the real scene
for around 4 years.
Mind you the first modem I used was a Hayes 300 baud Smartmodem, though at
the time I didn't have a clue there was a scene of any kind :)

Well I can only say that I wish being a sysop had the same fringe
benefits of being God, like maybe being immortal, all powerful, etc etc. :)
-Whats your main aim?
Our aim has always been to make this world a better place and as of late,
keep the great BBS scene alive.
-tell us something about the difficulties of being a leader?
maybe:coordination or how do u consist other members of beeing
on the right side ?
As of late I have been helping Hybrid in every way that I can
since some of our leaders are on a bit of a hiatus. But truthfully
there is only one group that I still play an active part in
organizing, that being RiSC. I first started in RiSC in 1993, and
in late 1994 when the group's founder, Enforcer, was on a leave
of absence from the scene the group had a stint of inactivity.
I worked closely with the other leader, Eagle 1, to help bring the
group back to life. We succeeded and I was promoted to Senior
Staff alongside Eagle 1. I can honsetly say I am still having as
much fun in the group as I have always had. I guess the one thing
that always appealed to me about RiSC is the family-like atmosphere.
I have known guys like Eagle 1 and Enforcer for so long now that I
consider them very close friends scene-wise. They both had a big
impact on who I am now, and they deserve all the credit for RiSC's
success over the past 4 years or so. But as for leading RiSC, I
guess I have had it pretty easy, since I started in the group as
a lowly courier and worked my way up to the top. I think that
because of that, I knew where I came from, and thus could relate
to everyone in the group. I have't really had any falling out with
that many people during the time I have been a senior, so I guess
I am doing an OK job. :)
Though I have been in many other groups at one point or another,
the only other group I was ever really actively involved in
was Scum. I was actually a senior at one point, and things
didn't go nearly as smoothly as they have with RiSC so far. I think
Scum's main problem was that it had too many people in the group,
and I know now that having too many members is a bad thing. Though
I will say, on the other side of the coin, Scum was a very fun group
with a good upbeat attitude and some great people involved. There
are many remnants of Scum still very active in the util scene today.
To conclude, from my experience the only thing I can say about leading
groups is that there are 2 qualities that have the biggest impact on the
long term goals of any group: loyalty and honesty. If your members don't
possess these, your group is in big trouble.
-What else do u do with a computer?
Everything and nothing at the same time :)
-What do u hate? Which Groups, scene Dudes? Tell something more!
Well the only people I hate are those who are trying to bring this
scene down. A lot of new people to the scene think its just about
files and glory. I also think the scene beginning to develop into
less of an elitist society than it always was before. This of course
is a bad thing since it means too many people are getting involved
in this, and having access to fast sites is not as much as a
privilege as it used to be. All Sysops and SiteOps should get together
and try to nip tis problem at the bud, otherwise it could spell
doom for this scene as we have all known it.
-What do u think about scene events like the regeneration of the
Group TRSI after a long time?
Well, some of you may remember that PC was affiliated with TRSI for
some time, in fact we were even WHQ during the last stand of
TRSI/PC. I just hope that if an old school group like TRSi is
reforming, it actually has members from the old group. Otherwise
it could be considered no better than just stealing a once-great
group's name.
-Tell us a joke! :)
I have 2 of them actually:
Inquisition and RCN magazines.
Read them and I assure you that you will be rolling over laughing at
just how much those 2 mags suck.
-What do u think about cyber-sex?
I think its another cheezy, media-driven geek idea that has absolutely
no real foundation. These hollywood producers should think about maybe
actually experiencing things like the net to see how it really is before
they decide to make movies about it. To this date I have not seen one
"Cyberspace" movie or TV show thats anywhere close to reality. These
hollywood idiots are giving the net and computer users in general a bad
image with their sensationalized depcitions of what they think the
Internet is.
