Unreal Issue 1
Letter from the Editor
UnReal E-mag not to be confused with the demos by Future Crew is a new, yet old magazine. Started a long time ago in 604 by Hologram, Innate Malice and Bone Crusher, first time around they made lots of boards sites and nothing happened with the magazine. A couple of months later me, The BBS Bouncer joined the crew, so we were 4 on the senior staff and nothing produced. I took it upon myself to collect articles. I got about 5-6 of them and i saw that all the other members were doing nothing, so i forgot about them and took over everything. The only problem was that I didn't have a magazine to put them in, instead of releasing them as a PHRACK style magazine i chose to release wait and release them with a GOOD magazine.
Thanks to VIP the first issue of UnReal was made possible, VIP a coder from TEI (The Emulator Institute) decided to help me out and program the magazine when others backed out on me.
You might have noticed UnReal needs somebody to make us a decent menu, if any of you are feeling up to making one we would greatly appreciate it. For those of you who want to have an article published just send it to us at any of our boards listed below, of you can DCC it to me on irc (my nick is bouncer) or you can even send me your article in at crim@cyberspace.com ... Anyways, hope you enjoy this issue of UnReal...

Bonjour mes amis! I'm here to express my views on the ANSi scene. Just let me tell you it's pretty hard to say my views since I rarely know what's going on anymore ... but jes' hear me out anyways.
ACiD - From regards of the lsat two acquisitions that came out, (Feb and March issues), I think ACiD has acquired a few good artists. One of them that I have in mind is Sonic. I hope he plans to stay with the group for awhile because he's a REAL good artist. He's real good with colors and one of the better animators today.
When I think of pure quality, one name comes to mind, and that's Vindication. I swear that 'The City' ansi was just intense. It was great to see Vindication back in action again after that small absence, but it seems he's left ACiD. Since I haven't been up to date with the group, I don't know where he is. I hope he decides to stay in the ansi scene a little longer.
You can always expect a quality ansi from out good friend, Cerebrus. This guy has been in the ansi scene for quite some time and he gets better with every ansi he produces. One of the better ACiD dudes.
Tank ... ah yes Tank. An excellent artist who's been with the group for a long time and can always be counted on for an exceptional ansi. This guy is also a great animator as well. His 'Pristine Tower' ansimation was pretty cool and has some of the best animation I've seen in awhile. One of my favorite artists of all time.
A newcomer to the group (to me atleast) is Innate Malice. I've only seen a few ansis from this guy but I definitely like what I see. His fonts are pretty cool with that touch of psychodelicness to it. Hope to see more from him.
iCE - iCE is definitely one of the better groups today. From looking at some of iCE's latest artwork, I'd say iCE is really hitting the extacy of ansi's. There are many new artists in iCE that are really talented, such as, Icy and Dreamevil. I knew from the start that these two guys were miraculous ever since I saw them in MiRAGE. Icy is probably one of iCE's best artists. From what I've seen iCE's future looks pretty bright with there new artists.
Then there's TT, Tempus Thales. This guy's been in the scene for a pretty time. Tempus and I go way back to the Soul Asylum days. His ansis just keep getting better and better. I'll even admit that at times I'll get jealous of his artwork because he produces fine ansis.
There's a few more ansi groups out there that I haven't mentioned, but it'll just as hard for me to acquire information from them than it is to get info from ACiD or iCE. (hehe) What's up with Spectre? Beats me, I have no idea who's in it.
That just about wraps things up for me. Yes, I know I've been slacking in making ansis but I think it's time for a newer and better generation of artists who love drawing ansi's as much as I did. Well I guess I'll see you guys and ansi-type people later!
Carding ... A Truly DANGEROUS Game
Here in 817, there was what you call a "ring" of carders. We will call them "Rob", "Greg", and "George". The way they worked is, George tapped into the Visa computer, made dummy accounts that had $1000+ limits. Then, Greg would order 486 computers from local computer stores that deliver and have the computers delivered to peoples' houses and call them and ask them to hold it for him. After that, they would give them to Rob, who had a business license, and Rob would sell the computers at extremely low prices, and George and Greg would receive half of a 80% cut, 40% each, except Rob received 20%.
This was working fine until Rob slipped up and got caught. Rob never thought about removing serial numbers. When the computers were ordered, the computer stores always put the serial number on the invoices, and Rob never checked that. Rob sang like a bird in the middle of spring.
First, George was fined $40,000 and maybe more if they find any other electronic equipment carded in the area. Second, George was asked if he knew Greg, and he said, "Yes." From there, they asked Rob if he knew Greg and he told them that Greg was involved and gave them Greg's number. Greg was fined $1500 for phone fraud and other federal misdemeanors.
The morale is, if you're gonna card, DON'T GET CAUGHT!!
How To Make BoNG Water Tea
By K≥úú‰· [iCE]
Ok, you're already SToNED and it's time to clean up the drug paraphernalia which is lying around your bedroom. Ya get the bong and take it to empty the water into the sink. Wait a Second! Why not get even MORE stoned by making BoNG Water Tea?? (Since You're already wasted, you won't think twice about it...)
All you need are a few simple household items...
- A Coffee Mug
- 1 Bong With USED Water
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons Sugar
To Make:
Empty the USED Bong Water into the mug. Fill to the top with fresh NEW water (From the faucet, toilet, or wherever ... :)).
Put that in the microwave for ONE-TWO Minutes. Remove. Add Sugar, Stir, and ENJOY!
It tastes great and goes down smoothly...
Makes One Serving.
CCi Just Won't Die!
"International Networks" come and go, but for the past year and a half, one net has constantly become bigger and better, all around the world. CyberCrime International, better known as CCi, is the brainchild of one Midnight Sorrow, who began the net about 18 months ago in his tiny apartment in South Florida (AC 305). The only thing wrong with this 88 base XXX board network is the fact that Midnight Sorrow, though not poor, is usually too lazy or spendthrifty to pay his phone bills (sometimes in excess of $500). As any net-affiliate would tell you, this causes huge problems with the routing system and the network itself, because the hub of the entire network is not up to send and receive the mail. At this point, any weak net would surely fall, but not CyberCrime. It's affiliates just won't let it go down. For example, about two months ago, MS had a phone bill in excess of $1000, and he obviously didn't pay it. After lengthy talk, the CCi HQ was then moved to Rivendell, where the ever-present Force Ten was able to keep the network alive for weeks until Infinite Darkness went back online. And just recently CCi, went down again, but this time, so did Rivendell (FT's board), and it seemed CCi would surely die. Along came Paganini, someone I for one have never heard of, but a CCi hub nonetheless. He made the effort to call each regional director and fill them in, and then took on the role as CCi headquarters until such time as Infinite Darkness returns. In addition, the international hub made an effort to call Midnight Sorrow at work and thus find out where the temporary HQ was stationed. Through the efforts of some very dedicated net-sysops, CCi is rocking once again! It seems that no matter what tragedy befalls CyberCrime or Infinite Darkness, CCi just won't die!
