##2 Disclaimer
-------------->ByteMare

This mag is made BY the Belgian scene FOR the Belgian scene. It is a
stand alone project, not linked to any group. I, ByteMare, am only compiling
it and writing the edito. ANYBODY interested in writing ANY of the other stuff
in the mag, or contributing to it in any other way, is free to do so. Of
course the groups/dudes contributing to the mag will be mentioned in
'grandeur'. I only reserve the right of refusing certain articles due their
contents to myself.

##3 Edito
--------->ByteMare

This issue is late due a big HD crash and some fucked up backups. I also
have not very much time to do loads of writing, so I really encourage
cowritering! Everybody, send me your articles!

Senicure wrote a nice Column and I hope will continue doing that in the
next issues.

Due to my crash, some articles & messages might have gone to devil. So
please re-complain/react/whatever when there was no response.

##4 News
-------->ByteMare

If there is any interesing news you want people to know, just leave me a
messy and I'll add it. If you dog is dead or you are desperately looking
for oral sex thats fun to read. But if you are taking down you board, or
changing your number, thats important information! I think it will have much
more effect in BSR than in oneliners or whatever....

* Triloxy and TRT2001 are merging! I think we will hear from the 'new'
Triloxy very soon. And there are more merges on the way.

* Meuuuh! Cownet is born. Cow is a new ansi group with among others, BurpS and
Scratch in it. And they founded this net. Cool uh? It will be a FIDO like
network and I hereby declare it the official BSR network. A BSR and a Marie
Jeanne area is scheduled. Any further info is available on the Cownet WHQ,
Zone-X. I sure hope I can get myself connected because there is a lot of
installing to do here... Shit fido is difficult :-)

* De Bloedraed is back! I found their new blacklist and since I was
mentioned in the File_id.diz, I immediately read the file (finally I am in
a blacklist!) but strangely enough I was not mentionned. That is really a
pitty, because now I don't know who's gay dick I am sucking or what boards I am
planning on reporting to the fedz.

Of course a huge pile of relpies (to replies to replies to replies)
followed (for one, the file was not from the 'real' bloedraed), but I am not
going to write loads of that shit :-))

* The Unexpected will return! Since Night Angel is moving right now, we
will have to wait until januari.

* Somebody released an other file with me in the ID (I am getting really
popular here :-))). But it contained just some lame NFO-less info and a
little plasma demo. But it turned out to be a trojan as well... if you have
a PCB bbs, it packs your userlist and puts it online! The file he puts online
is called Compress.zip. Thanks to DR.Vibe for giving me this info... Think i
upped my userlist here and there. Enjoy it :-))

* Pure is working on a big project called 'the D.O.S. music system'. What
this consists of will have to wait until next issue...

##5 Belgian Groups
------------------>ByteMare

Here you find a list of all Belgian Groups (known to me) with their
corresponding News (if any). If your groups is not in it, or not
described in the correct way, contact me and I'll add it into the next issue.

Some new groups are not mentionned (yet), that is because Sleeping Dog
gave all possible info on them in his article. Read it! I'll add them next
issue.

The 'get in touch' part is not 100% but I'm still develloping. '***etc'
means the info is incomplete.

Of course : when groups don't include a bit of info on how you can reach
them in their releases, shit get's difficult...

##6 Belgian BBS List
-------------------->ByteMare

So! I had to start it someday uh? I know, there are already a lot of
BBSlists in Belgium but I hope this one will be the most updated & read.
Yes, it is incomplete, but if I want all of my projects 100% updated before
a new release, there would never be a new issue again, would there?
Want your Board added? Gimme a call. But Don't forget : only scene boards
accepted!

Not in the mood for writin' this, but ... ok, here's a short introduction to
the new group pâéz’›.

§ Name Origin: Since the end of my phuckin' TrAnXEnE addiction [3 Hard months

prozac ... as i was searchin' for a groupname, i discovered the

all there is to say 'bout that ...

§ Founders: MaSTer KurGAN (Me), prez, SySgoD oF Méâáë pLî’$uâîz

Thundergod, Evil Spirit, Cyberhawk, coderz
Silicon Sorcerer, Lone Ranger, Slave master, VGA Graf-X

Lot'z of distroz and membroz too, check out the PROZAC.NFO file
for those ...

§ We had sum releases with i-net stuff ... but we're only releasin' those
philes that are really special (satanism pack, phrack issues).
In the phuture, we want to release mostly LIT packz, ANS and ASC art,
and VGA graf-x (GIV, FLI).
We'll also release .EXE codingz and PPE'z but not as our main objective ...
it will mostly be utils to use with our other releases or special thingz
like a game PPE or somethin' (we'll see ...).
We hope to attract sum Anarchy writers too in the near future.

§ Our groupz members don't have deadlines or are never forced to create some-
thing. One of our laws is: 'we do what WE like to do ... not what others
want us to', we are not a hpAvc group (yet) but our spirit is pure anarchy.
You can ask us everything and we'll create the best wa can. Then it's up to
you to decide if you want it or not ... we had phun creatin' it, that's the
most important law in our group ... but never force us, then you'll get an
ABSOLUTE NJET!

Rite, when you've read all this crap ... i would like to congratulate you ...
if ya didn't, you're a smart dude. The most important thing is that you know
there is a group named prozac, that we plan to stay in the scene for a long
looooooooong time ... and that we're always interested in cewl dudez (and babez)
to join our group.

Yow Bytemare ;-)

> Sleeping Dog/The Natives upped me a nice reply in which he ripped BSR to
>shreads, his conclusion was that I'd better stop this thing and write articles
>for a real magazine. Guess I don't. But he also gave me a list of groups I did

I did answer it : the answer was that it was badly written and some of
the contents were wrong ...

And I still didn't have the time to write the other infos ;-)

> The following groups are not known to me :
React, SPA/SPC,
>Subnormals, TFL/SPC, Realm, subnormals.

Allright guess it's time to write the things now otherwise I'll never do it.
If you want to check the productions of those groups you'll know where
to find them ;-)

Apex :
Small group from Antwerp which made 2 demos DS and DT demo about 2-3 years
ago and wrote the funny Kiddo intro a couple of months ago
Digital House
Group formed around Pointer, coded the demo the Attic which was released
at Assembly'94. And some other small releases before. Group is mainly
located around Kortrijk. Pointer is focussing more on Raytracing at this
moment.
Gravity Soft Productions
Actually I don't know if they still exist under the same name but
it's a small group from Antwerp that has only one real release :
the 800Colors intro + Source it's formed by the Palmans Brothers and Wout
Mertens
Insecabilis (withouth the second e ;-))
Exist for about one year. Main coders Gongo and Andromeda both studying
at the RUCA. They planned to release an intro at Sih'95 but it wasn't
finished in time. Those guys almost live on #coders
Isch Crew
One of the best belgian crews around. Won the Wired'94 intro compo
then some silence. Egshell left for Pure a never to be released demo
(seam) at Nexus. And a quite good demo at Sih'95. Some members
Ghory, Andras...
The Natives
pfiew... can't do anything more easy than publish our .nfo file here ;-)

We'll yeah... cut the greetings, list of releases and distsites ;-)

1. A brief history of the one of the Oldest groups in the Belgian Scene
ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ

In the beginning there were 3 young students (at that moment 5th year
(1991-1992) of mathematics) with a large interests towards Computers with
a stress on Computer Graphics, those three guys were : Sleeping Dog(at that
time called Bitfreak), Airborne and Black Hellcat Jr. (at that time Merlin
Mustang).

Back in those days Black Hellcat Jr. wrote the first
intro released by our group, the Einstein Intro. It was an intro with
a picture of Albert, the info about the BBS and some new effects which were
seen in many other demos afterwards... (ever seen a figure walking
on the screen ?? (Some Assembly '93 demo), bouncing balls that
get smaller when they reach the floor ?? (don't remember where I saw
this again..), Moving the screenrows in a sin wave ? It were the early
tries of a coder that had great capacities but not enough time.

A groupname had to be found... hmm... we kind of hated
the hacking crew called Future Brain Inc. so we decided to call our
group CIA, spending some hours to find a proper abbreviation for it was
no problem at all.. we were coders that were in Action.. the group
was founded Coders In Action.

Airborne was working on his Gras (Graphics Animation System), which he
never finished, Black Hellcat was working on some other routines
and Sleeping Dog was awake, looking for some other members, and also
coding the last thing he coded till this day. The EgaCia intro.
A bbs intro for that same Einstein BBS but then in EGA Because
back in those days he was the proud owner of an EGA screen.

Then sudden he met Purple Zebra, who had released The Temple of Love
(Silicon Mage) after a couple of months Purple Zebra joined CIA
At that moment we also had our music Artist, Jan, but he was so inactive
that we didn't use any of his modules. Well I'm not going to type a
list of what we released so far because you can find that in the
end of this page.

We found a graphician, Fatal Black who drew a couple of nice pictures
that were e.g. used in Simm Zone. Well... we started 1994 with some
good ideas. We had been active in the scene for more than one
and a half year now.. so we decided to go to some parties.
The first were we could go to was Bizarre'94, (Nijmegen) it was not
that difficult to reach and we had a nice production finished.

So off we were... Purple Zebra and Sleeping dog at their first
demo party. We met lot's of interesting people there. (not going to
greet them). But I'm still looking for somebody who can tell me
the not faked results. On other parties lot's of people told me that
the organisation changed some results, and another group should have
won, so we still don't know how high Simm Zone was ranked, but it was
High !

We had caught the partyvirus, nothing could stop us to go to
Assembly '94,(Helsinki) us were Purple Zebra, Emperor (who actually
became an official member during Assembly) and Sleeping Dog.
There we felt like changing the group name to The Natives, 'cause
there were too much Cia's on this world.

In the meanwhile we were contacted by Mhoram, one of the best
music artists in the world, and he joined us, the Internet
rules... fast communication between some guys in Belgium and
our USA Music-artist ! (Did i mention he came 1Oth on Music Contest ][ ?

So we did.. Next party coming up... Wired'94. We simply HAD to go
so the four of us did. Purple Zebra, Emperor, AirMax ,and Sleeping Dog
Airmax was our newest Graphician and he's cool...

Around this time Sleeping Dog also met Uncle bob from Zion,
a brand new group where the main coder only lived 5 minutes from
Sleeping Dog.

So that was it for the biggest part of the group, they had to study.
But there was one who wanted to go to them all... he would and should
go to the last one : The Party IV. And he did... met lot's of people
and had more fun than ever before. After 2.5 years the Natives
are now on Top Speed, It's almost impossible that you won't hear
something from us you will.

Zion was to small to survive and died. The Members of Zion that wanted
to go on with the Scene joined the Natives. Thus Uncle Bob (Coder)
And Balex-T (Gfx) joined The Natives.

Time to go to some other party then. The Meeting '95 Lille / France
Sleeping Dog and Uncle Bob going to there. With only one goal :
meeting some people. But early during the first morning a second goal
became fact. We had to win the 4kb intro. After 3.5 hours of work our
intro was finished. And guess what. We won the compo !

Half april 1994 we attended a brand new party in Holland... X'95,
great atmosphere, perfect organising and really cool releases...

July 1995 : Crow , Mhoram's Brother also joined us as a Music Artist

You will possibly also meet us at the following parties

Assembly '95 (Helsinki,Finland), Saturn 3 (France), Bizarre'95,
Wired'95 (Mons, Belgium), The Party V (Herning, Denmark), etc...

At this very moment we are working on a new demo which will probably
have the most revolutionary ever used for a demo.

Group formed out of the old Outlaws/fx by Daneel Olivaw
SPA/SPC,
Group from our 'sunny' coast. Members : Hal9000, Binary Slave and Wolfje
(some others i forgot also ;-))
Came 17th at Assembly'94 with their production Meltdown and then also
a high score at the Wired'94 intro compo. Were working on an Mpeg player
during The Party'94. As for now I'm not sure if they still exist as
a group on their own or as a part of Realm.

Subnormals
The group that released the magnificient Wired'94 report
I don't know about any other releases.

TFL/SPC,

never heard of ;-)
if you mean TFL/TDV
it's The Flamoots and the Dark Vision... maybe you'd beter check out
their own nfo file which i don't have available on the machine I'm using
right now.

Realm,
Call seyda's board realm and ask him all info about it ;-) Former amiga
group but now active on both platforms.

All groups above are 100% demo groups with also some music gfx releases
at several parties ;-)

Actually DV was the only belgian demo that ever ranked high in foreign diskmags
They had a demo planned for Bizarre'94 wich didn't get finished in time
and their also working on some games.

I the future I hope to :

- Improve & Group/BBS list
- New riliz per group
- Voting thingies
- Interviews

- And much much more...

Of course I can only accomplish that with the help of guest writers. So
