Welcome to the 10th Belgian Scene Report, this time live from X'97-Takeover.
Lets start with the bad news, there won't be a bsr in may and june, because
I have to do exams, so the next bsr will be in July. The problem is I'm not
home in July, so I can't go to wired'97 :-( or release the bsr.
And now the good news: Cray promised me he would release bsr#11 at wired'97,
thanks again Cray. I suggest you send in all your articles, forms, messages
before july 7th (I'm gonna leave some days later) that way I can still
forward them to Cray. (this only applies to e-mail, Cray will be able to read
the messages you send to me on my board)
The official Belgian Scene Report homepage is online at:
http://studwww.rug.ac.be/~pbackx/bsr . Like mentioned in this mag I was
going to add forms so you can quickly send comments/messages etc to me, but
the forms aren't online yet :( Check the pages regularly, because they will
change on a weekly base.
I guess we should celebrate this 10th issue, yipie :-). I've had a lot of
things on my mind lately and I was going to write at least one good article
this time, but again there was no time left, so you'll have to do with the
reviews from me and cray's articles. But anyway, this is probably the largest
issue in the 'history of bsr'.
Just one thing, would any one be interested to hold a 'mini-party' ? with
about 30 (50?) persons (maybe with a small competition?). I want to organise
everything, but if I organise it, it would take place somewhere in August and
would be in the neighbourhood of Ghent. Let me know if you are interested.
(I'm absolutely not sure if I will have time to do this, but if enough people
are interested I might just do it :)) )
Greets to Amens, Sleeping Dog (where's your article ? =) ), Cray, Xolux,
Kurt, Apollygon, Simon the Sorcerer ... for sending me reactions/articles.

# D-Fense died ... how convenient =) (sorry, I just had to say this ;-) )
# Wired'97, _the_ belgian (west-european?) demoparty will be held from 18
till 20 July (1997).
# Speed Freak started a new channel: #euroscene, where the european scene
can meet every sunday evening. I'll try to be there from time to time. Only
one question remains: why start a european channel, and not a belgian ? ;)
(btw you'll find #euroscene on EFnet, if I'm not mistaken try out
dinf.vub.ac.be as a irc-server, it's a pretty reliable one and it's in
Belgium, so it's fast)

Yep, I'm gonna try to add some Belgian charts. A voting form is included,
send your submissions to me asap. Of course you can only vote on Belgian
scene members and productions. Coproductions with non-belgian groups or
persons are ok.

Like Darkness told in his belgian report article (cfr previous issue),I
made my secondary school with him. He told me alot about the scene (that
was around 92 - 93 as I remember) about its releases, its parties and
so on..The conclusion was that if you wanted to enter the demo world and
" see it by yourself " there weren't many ways : a modem was *required*.
Modems were quite expensive but it didn't matter, I earned money and
bought one in 1993. Using my brand new 14.4K modem and wasting alot of
money due to those damn phone bills (hopefully we reach 1998!) I began
to leech several productions and the most impressive was Second Reality
whatever people thought (a picture has been ripped etc...).It has a real
groundbreaking design and I'm sure that if this demo got to be released
nowadays,it surely will be well ranked at some average parties. (Ok just
add some textures and shades in the 3D world :).
Anyway, how was the belgian scene looking at that time ? As far as I
remember, Synergy Design and Imphobia were the two groups at the top but
there weren't alone : CIA (Coders In Action) was promising and there
were also other groups that were just born like Antares and NFF.
During the summer holidays in 1993, I made a computer stage to learn
Turbo Pascal 5... However I completely failed the final test at the end
of the week (Looks like I wasn't made for TP :) I found someone that was
quite skilled and interested in graphical effects...We decided to make a
demogroup and a few time after we released a little intro announcing a
"party" we planned to organise... A party without meeting place and
any prices (woaw that's original!) the idea was to upload your demo on a
board before August 1st 1994 and then people could leech it and vote
online for the best one...
We finnaly got two productions probably three is there wasn't the
Low Density party organised by Outlaws were NFF decided to show their
productions there.
The Low Density party was the first one I attended and was pretty nice
however the amount of releases was really weak. (Note that Antares's and
NFF's demos couldn't get shown because of troubles with the soundplayer)
Only a demo from Imagine and an animation were played for the PC part.
The animation won ... :)
August 1st 1994 our mini party ended and two productions competed ; it
turned to be a mess but the most important was to have tried to organise
something.(At least I think). For this party we released our Extreme demo
and DamN (coder) contacted me and joined. DamN coded the Cult intro for
Wired 94 and he then left to join Pure and changed in the meanwhile his
handle to Eggshell.Too bad he left,he was a good coder !!
We (= Isch Crew) then got Mabuse,a German coder that came to school here
in Belgium. He was skilled but very very lazy..:( We couldn't make
anything valuable with him (unfortunately) but was a cool guy. I don't
know where around the world he's now (In UK I should guess) but I hope
everything's fine for him. I won't talk further about Wired 94, as I
already did it in other articles.
We then slowly reach the year 1995.There aren't much to say except that
this year let me remembers some kind of wars between several boards.
It was the year of the Dist Sites,BHQ,WHQ,EHQ,Affiliate, etc and whatever
you want. The rule was simple : "the most dists you have, the more eleeeet
your board looks". However Genesis has the most famous sites, Tetsuo
and Einstein bbs weren't that far... Probably less known, Blue Alphabet
also got pretty nice files.I have the feeling that files on boards were
hundred times more interesting in 1995 than nowadays. These days, just
give Genesis a call and you will see that 70% of the new files are
f...... ( add the word you want ;) music files. The problem with music
is that you need to leech 20 Mb of them before finding a decent one...
but that's my opinion :)
Anyway, sites turn to be a bit out of fashion in 1997 and this can easily
be explained by the grow of the Internet : one email and Web address
replace the whole thing.
The next party I attended was SIH'95 which can be called a good party.
We went there with Pom (what happens to you ??),Mabuse,Andras and myself.
A Mcdo near the party place, a nice city,a big party hall, what more do we
need ? A few weeks before this party, I got some contacts with Seyda from
the belgian group Realm. He told me his group is going to make
groundbreaking productions but I never see anything except a little 64 kb
intro at SIH'95 ....that turned to be totally ripped from PC Underground!
Anyway, the guy that "coded" it was cool, that's probably the most
important. Such as Pure,Hypernova,Sub-Normals and others, this group also
seems to have disappeard...
The Nexus party (announced to be the biggest German party =) was in fact
pure crap.Sooo lame that I even don't remember when it was held. Probably
around Juny 1995 (?). There aren't much to say, I guess you all already
read some party reports about this 'thing'.
It then follows Wired 95 and 96, I'm pretty sure you all attended it so
I won't discuss it further.
I'm sure Wired 97 will figure out a new grow of the belgian scene with
groups like Itsari, Aspirine, Ketchup Killers, Green... and maybe some
other surprises ! (Check your BSR ;)

ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ
[ Q(uestions) = Cray ]
[ A(nswers) = Deiy ]
Q: Hi Deiy ! Let's start this little interview with some classic stuff..
Can you make us a brief presentation of Itsari and its members ?
A: Itsari was founded by The Ripper and I somewhere in july last year.
Steven (The Ripper) has been talking about starting a group ever since
X'96 where we met, and in july I finally decided to go along with it.
Until Wired'96 Itsari was only Steven and I (although Klix already
helped out a little with our first demo). At Wired Zyser joined and a
bit later Klix joined. So the current memberstatus is:
The Ripper : graphics, sysop of The Outpost
Zyser : coder, imported from the US :)
Klix : graphics, female (a very valuable skill
in the demoscene :)
Deiy : coding.
Yep, we still lack a musician. Great musical talents are welcome to
contact us.
Q: Well I hope BSR can be of some help for a musician... Can you tell
us where does the name Itsari comes from ?
A: Itsari is the name of a weird Indian song recorded by Sepultura on
their album Roots.I also heard some rumours that Itsari is Finnish for
suicide
but that's not what we had in mind when we chose this name.
As much as some other people hate this name (hi C...), we love it.
Q: Can you tell us what pushed you to the scene ? What did you find
attractive ?
A: In a previous life I was in the C64 scene so the concept was not
really new to me, but I totally forgot about it until I discovered
comp.sys.ibm.pc.demos on the Internet about 1.5 years ago. I was
surprised to see there was a florishing PC demoscene and that the
demos were pretty cool if you compare them to C64 demos (with usually
only 16 colors and SID chip music). That got me started again. I
started learning C and x86 assembler and I read Denthor's and Abrash'
tutorials. I went to X'96 ( alone... yeah, I'm weird ) to see if
demoparties were still as cool as the copyparties in the olds days
( they're not, but they're still fun) and that's I met The Ripper...
the rest is history.
What I like about the demoscene? The fact that there're kids out
there, getting the worst grades at school but that write great software
on their cheap PC in their bedroom, stuff that their parents or friends
at school can't even start to understand... that's cool.
Q: You said you were also active on the C64 scene ? What's the
difference with the PC scene in terms of spirit, friendship ?
A: The C64 scene was a lot more underground. C64 sceners spent most of
their time doing illegal stuff : cracking games, spreading cracked
games, hacking telephone lines, cheating mail...and every now and then
they made a demo too :) You can't got public with a scene like that.
The PC scene is much more open: it's on the Internet, it's on CDROMs
that come with magazines,... there's nothing to hide. The PC demoscene
is clean , it doesn't have that cool underground atmosphere.
Also, being a C64 scener was almost a way of life, the C64 scene
was/is(?) a subculture. The PC demoscene is more a bunch of people
sharing a hobby.
But actually I like the PC scene the way it is. It's a bit more mature
(but less exciting) than that C64 conspiracy atmosphere and people
focus on demos in this scene, while the C64 scene was focused on
getting/making the latest cracks.
Q: What's the most important for you in a demo ? And what's the most
difficult to do ?
A: Style, creativity, originality and having style, being creative and
being original.
What's the use of having an ultra fast, super advanced 3D engine if you
can't think of anything interesting to do with it?
Anyway, I won't start blaming other groups for not being creative or
so when Itsari still has to make its first creative, original and
refreshing demo.
Q: What's your spring of inspiration ?
A: For our next demo we started from an idea. We worked out some kind
of scenario based on that idea, and now we're making the demo based on
that scenario. So effects aren't really an issue, we just use them
(if we can figure them out, that is) where they're needed in the
scenario. I hope it works out this way.
Q:What do you think of almost 100% pure 3D demos such as Contrast from
Oxygene by example...Or do you prefer high designed prods such as
INTODARK (Halcyon) or more recently at the party V Daze from Urinate
(64k intro) ?
A: I was (still am actually) very impressed by Contrast from Oxygene:
great scenes, music, syncing to music. I like 3D stuff a lot, but it
seems most groups can't think of anything interesting to do in 3D.
A lot of 3D demos are plain boring. But if I see a good 3D demo, like
Contrast, I'm sold.On the other hand I keep playing Halcyon and Orange
demos over and over again. The design and style of these demos is
great. Where other groups try to show off with their fastest
texturemapper, Halcyon and Orange (and a few others) write pure art.
It's as if they work at another level. They make art and often use
impressive coding to do it but they're not bragging about their coding
skills... design, creativity is more important to them.
Intodark will still be great 5 years from now, Contrast will be
outdated, surpassed by hi-res Truecolor raytracing engines or so.
Q: Any projetcs for the future ? Tell us some hot news from your
Wired 97 demo... :)
A: It will be even more breath taking than our Wired'96 demo, can you
believe that? :)
Q: Last thing...What's your reaction to those words :
- belgian scene
Skip the BBS's and ANSI's and almost nothing's left (Ok, we'd still
have Wired and Imphobia... and BSR :). But I think things are
changing. By the time this appears in BSR, both Green and Ketchup
Killers (or is it Pulpe?) should have released a demo. That would be
great.
- friendship
That's what keeps the scene together, more than demos. I'm not long
enough in the PC scene yet to make that many friends but on the C64
having all these scene friends was great. I travelled to Holland,
France, Germany, Austria, even Hungary to visit them. I had a great
time.
On the PC scene it'll hopefully be the same. Itsari's already pretty
close with Green. If that's a measure we're gonna have a good time
in this scene.
- internet vs bbs
Internet (The Ripper won't like this), I need E-mail and the
newsgroups. The only BBS I'll ever call is The Outpost as Itsari's HQ
(nice save huh, Steven).
- demos vs games
Games are commercial, so you can't have much of a scene there.
Gamecoding is fun though, I once made a game on the C64, 'Twindown'.
It's a great feeling when you see people enjoying themselves, playing
your game. Anyway, gamecoding can't replace democoding, it's too
different.
That's it...Thanks for answering !!

ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ
For starters, my first board experiance was about 1 year and a half ago
on the resistance, and it blasted me! There was, and I think still is, a
socciety of people on BBSes. BBSing (calling to a bbs) is a lot of fun,
it doesn't really matter if you call that scene of underground or
underground scene, there is the friendship between a lot of guys, and I
think that that is more precious than having a bunch of people coding
demos!
Saying that coders are lazy is wrong, there might be some lazy guys under
all belgian coders, but they are doing there best! And now why are there
so little demo coders?
Demo coding requires a minimal knowledge of assambler, and that isn't very
easy to learn. What destubs me the most is that more and more people are
becomming ASCii artists, well even my 5 year old brother (with no computer
knowledge at all) can "draw" a fantastic ascii in just 15 minutes! If all
ascii drawers should do something usefull with their time, there might be
a bit more demo coders. Face it, getting accepted is what it's all about,
if you code or if you draw a stupid ascii, it doesn't really matter, so why
go through a lot of trouble learning C/PASCAL/... and basic assambler if
you can just draw a stupid little ascii and get accepted also?
To do something good, you must specialise in a certain type of computing
like coding, drawing, composing,... because you'll have a lot of "concurentie"
and a bad result leads to beeing "LAME" and stuff! So on a good demo should
work at least 3 people, a coder, a vga artist and a good music composer. But
it's just lack of people working together! There are now even guys who ask
money for making something for sombody else!!!
Belgium is a small country with a small group of people calling bbses, in
e.g. France/Germany/... there are a lot more guys envolved in the scene,
resulting in more demo coders (they can't all do the same thing). And all
those scene seniors in Belgium are making it very difficult to get in the
scene. If you call a board for the first time with no affiliations and no
ups, you are a lamer! If you want a decent scene, you should stop this
noncense. Also 12 & 13 year old guys are beeing shouted at, this is also
unfair. I knew a guy of 14, he's looking for a new language to code in,
he knows C++/PASCAL/ASM/..., but he got tired of coding in those languages,
he could be a really good demo coder, but 9 chances out of 10 he wouldn't
be taken serious!
If you want a good demo scene in Belgium, I can give you just one advice
wich might help a lot :
"Eleet"-guys, stop your foolish nonsence, and let the scene live!! You are
rewining it, for as far as you haven't destroyed the scene allready! By
saying things like "He shouldn't be allowed on this board, let him learn
the true meaning of scene somewere else!" isn't apporpriate and will
eventually destroy not only the "scene" but also people calling BBSes. The
people calling BBSes will surely deteriarate due to the popularity of the
internet, don't make it even worse, and stop beeing selfish, leave something
for the next generation of sceners! So don't hide those numbers, remove
those nothing-worth NUVs and start acting like a REAL scener! If you ask me,
elite dudes are the REAL LAMERS!
So I hope I gave you some material to think about! Questions, remarks and
death wishes can always be mailed to me on Deep Waterz or Smell Of Incense.
And I will reply ASAP.

Well, this is the story of the so known group ORP (a.k.a OUT RAGE PIRATES)..
I'm writting this text file coz i'm sick coz of what i saw on their web page,
well here's what i saw :
"Well... How Can I Begin ?
A Long, Long, Long Time Ago Dinosaurs Disappeared From The Surface Of
Our Little Earth, Leaving The Place To Another Crazy Species, Humans...
Heh? Yep, You're Right it'll Be Faster If I Continue The Story At The

So, after seeing that, i immediately wrote him an email laughing about that,
but i guess he didn't receive it coz i'm still on his crappy board. Well,
if you wanna know the real story here it is, anyway, if these guyz (ice-t,
never'one, level'one, & exact) are your friends, ya better leave them now,
coz when you'll make a mistake or lame thing you'll get killed even if you
know them really well..oki..here's da (REAL) story :
"In the end of December 1994, i was at a friend's house and i got an idea,
i told him : "h, cewl ! i know what i'm gonna do ! i'm gonna create a group,
and i'll call it OUT RANGE PIRATES ! in french : "PIRATES HORS DE PORTE".
He told me he didn't like groupz and that he wouldn't join. Anyway, when i
came back to my home. I connected to SANITY BBS (ice-t (warez) board) and
i paged ICE-t, it was after 18h30 coz ice-t was always there after 18h30.
I told him that i created a group..called OUT RANGE PIRATES : ALL OVER THE
WORLD ! And i told him i had made a file_id.diz, it was a file_id.Diz i made
with THEDRAW coz i was REALLY lame at that time (hope i'm not anymore =),
humm..i colored the fonts of the file_id.diz with RED & GREEN COLORS, ya know,
the right part of the logo with RED and the left part with GREEN, so,
i showed him and he told me he was going to make a better file_id.Diz..
So i told him i was gonna call back tomorrow..What i did, then he showed me
the file_id.diz and we decided to use that one. So, at that time, the
members were me & ice-t. Then never'one joined and he coded an apply generator
that we packed and distributed..then SPEED FREAK and some other members joined
and finally, we chose the name OUT RAGE PIRATES, then 4 months later, i had
to sell my modem coz of my parents : i called LD too much, and the result was
19000 bef bill so i left the scene, and i told ice-t i couldn't come until
some months..so, in AUGUST 1996, i came back and i call SANITY BBS, still
online after all that time (i was happy :) so the first thing i did, i wrote
some messages to all my friends, like insider and ice-t, and i rejoined the
group, but guess what ?! i couldn't take my position of LEADER back i could
just have the position of coder (ppe coder) so i took my place back, i coded
some ppe's for them, then somedayz, i talked with ice-t and he said 'YOU CAN'T
HACK MY BOARD' so i told him, to let me the time to hack his board..so,
dayz passed and a day, i connected and asked him for SYSTEM/x, telling him i
was going to make a board with system/x (pcboard rulez !) so he trust me (!)
and he gave me SYSOP PRIVILEGES so that i could download the SYSTEMX in his
C:\x directory so he was trying to flagg the file when somebody phoned him,
so he said wait somebody's phoning me ! I told him ok, so i flagged his
config.sys and i was going to flag his autoexec.bat when he blocked the bbs.
Then i tried to call back and i saw that he had changed my password, my
account was still there but my password had changed. Hum..I sent him feedbacks
to tell him that i did that for the deal we made when he said i couldn't hack
his board but he never answered me h. So, my friend, SUPERGRASS paged him and
told him to let me come back on the board, now my handle on SANITY is not
SIMON THE SORCERER anymore it's STS ! i had to reapply..so if somebody tries
to messy me under SIMON THE SORCERER, he will never get any answer ! That's
really fucking..Well, all i can say, is that i've always been cool with ice-t,
but when he saw his board was growing he got the BIG head and now, he must
think he's elite, well, say that's what he must think hh..anyway, for me
he's the biggest of all the anti-fun-sucker in Belgium.."
So, he're da long (REAL) story about ORP, the FOUNDER was ME and NOT ice-t,
never'one & level one or exact...
I could also explain you all the times i phone ice-t, the times i asked him
for cd'z and when he was telling me that the price for me was 1800 bef for
a compil then when i was in orp the price was of 1000 bef..he really disgust
me !
Anyway, Peace to these groupz : RiP - TSH - ZNG - F.A.K.E - CONFUZE - ELP.
And Greetz to all the otherz i know and may have forgot.
SeeD yA!

³ 11. X'97 report Baxter ³
ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ
It's now 0:01, I guess it's a good time to start the x'97 takeover report.
I went to x with a bunch of Green members, Itsari, Amens and some others. We
arrived around 20. Most of the places were already taken at that time, so we
had to settle near the c64 corner.
Not much happened yet. Green coders are working on their demo which should
be finished by tomorrow. Will it ? read on ... ;)
For the fourth time now we lost power, this sucks. The party network doesn't
work, and we can't bring food inside of the party place.
Ten minutes ago the party network actually worked. But the fun didn't last
long. It seems some one down the line screwed it up, again.
So here we are again, we've had current all night (it's saturday 10:11), even
the party network was online all the time, I guess the organisation is pretty
good :). Green still isn't sure if the demo will (ever) get ready :)))
The demo competition is just finished (sunday 10:32), half of the demos
didn't work at first, but Greens demo (Orion) worked perfect (only the tunnel
part didn't look like it should). I suppose Green won't be first because
acme's demo (303 by statix & vic) was utterly stunning. Orion has pretty good
design and graphics, so I guess a 4th place is possible. The demo's were all
rather good (the ones that worked, that is). The intro's (especially 64kb,
but also 4kb) were a bit dissappointing. The music was in general good altough
the organisers shouldn't have made different compos for house and 'normal'
music (there were house songs played in the 'normal' category). I haven't seen
most the graphics yet, but both Cyclops and Necrofiliac have made great
pictures (Count Dracula's one wasn't on the ftp-site). From the pictures I've
already seen I liked necro's one the most, but I heard that there were some
other good vga's displayed last night. Cyclops also competed with a raytraced
pic of the sun, pretty simple, but nicely done.
I was going to mention the results, but they are going to cut the power, so
you'll have to get them elsewhere.

intro : This month started really really bad, there were absolutely no good
releases at first. Luckely things changed last week: fuel and tly both
released a new artpack. Tly even managed to release a music pack :)
ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ¿
W.a.r.P: We Are Reasonable People:Act II by Pulpe (P_WARPF.ZIP) 6/10
This intro was released at Mekka/Symposium'97 and competed in the 64kb
intro compo, it ended up 9th (there were 11 entries). If you read Access
messages on the usenet it was going to be great, so I was a bit
dissapointed when I first saw the intro. The effects are all really well-
done, but they aren't original (the only effect which is somehow innovative
is the greetings-effect). Placing a picture over an effect is also a
commenly used element in demos and intros these days (actually it has
always been that way), but at least the picies where nice :)
A last remark: I should be honest, I haven't got a gravis soundcard (yet)
(shame on me) so I couldn't hear the music :-(
ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ

# Fuel 11th artpack (FUEL11.ZIP) 8/10
There are more ansi's in this pack then in the previous pack, but the
overall quality is a bit less. It was of course very difficult to best
their previous pack (count dracula and burps are still among the best
belgian ansi drawers) Not too much large pictures in this 11th pack, but
we got a lot of good smaller ones in return.
# Triloxy 03/97 artpack (TLY-0397.ZIP) 7.5/10
I was going to give this pack more points then the previous one, because
I liked it better, but I think fuel's pack (cf supra) is better then this
one, so maybe I should rate it as 7.75 :). There are some nice ansi's
and vga's in this pack. I didn't like Count Dracula's big ansi's this time
but his fonts were great.
# Amens Corp Art Pack (AC-ART#2.ZIP) 7.5/10
This pack has great vga's by Amens and The Ripper made some cool things
too ;) Orc X made some ascii's for the pack. Orc is getting better every
pack (Amens too :) ) Keep up the good work!
# 303 First Artpack (303PACK1.ZIP) 6.5/10
The first artpack from this (music) group. The (vga) 303 logo was pretty
cool, just like some of the ansi. Strangely enough, I didn't like the
'guest-ansi' by some acidmember.

Triloxy Music Pack 13 (TLYPK13A.ZIP TLYPK13B.ZIP TLYPK13C.ZIP) 8/10
After some reorganisation Triloxy is finally back, with an artpack and this
- 3 zips big - music pack. The style is trance/dance and demo. There were
no songs which I really disliked. Everything was good and profesionally
done. My two faves are The Story, a rather commercial trance/club tune with
some samples and melodies I've heard before, but it's still a good song and
Abnormal Situation by 708.
ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ

Genetrix .WAV player with borland c source (WAVPLAY.ZIP) 4/10
I'm always reviewing art- or musicpacks, simply because there aren't much
other belgian releases. So I was surprised when I found a source-code
release from a belgian group at the hornet archive (ftp.hornet.org, or for
the www-picture'n'sound-addicts www.hornet.org).
The source is in Borland C. There aren't many comments, but I think even a
non-coder can trace the program and understand what's going on.
I gave this program just a 4 because a wav-player isn't something earth-
shocking and full of creativity.
So Jax and Python, don't be too disappointed and keep up the good work, it
still remains better to release something small then to release nothing at
all.
btw: rumor has it that we will see a demo by Genetrix at wired'97
