Zigor: Hi and welcome to 1996.. Ok, I think before anything else is said,
this is not another console chart magazine.. it's the 'Oldskool Charts'
with a new Image and point system! A lot of guys were complaing about
the old point system and so it's been updated and we hope it's ok now!
Well,The X-mas trading has gone now and it's time for the traditional
'low point' of the console scene.. Maybe even more so, Since 1996 could
see a vast decline of the 16bit machines as more companies turn to the
32 and 64 bit systems for their software..
Anyway, Enjoy the mag and help keep the scene active in some way...
BTW.. Hope there's not too many errors (I put this together in the
early hours of the morning... I need some sleep now eheh!!)

Faz!: Hi! This is fucking Fazwonga on the keys introducing the new issue
of our Charts...Well,it seems like Charts come and go... Propaganda
from Shadow Master & Cyber Christ came just once and there is still
no Console World Charts. Well it's today nearly the Holy Evening and
I am sitting here thinking about my life and the shit what happened
in the past and nowadays. Well,another year goes by and not only
according to the console scene ... Life really smells for me...
Well, I took a look back and I am surprised where the scene is now
and how many changes took place.I started like a lot of you guys in
the early years of the VIC-20 and then the obligatory C-64 Scene
with a follow up to the Amiga one. I loved that great shit.And now,
after I was busted 5 years ago I am in love with the Consoles. Well,
you have an easier overview,and it made me a lot of fun. Another year
has passed now and I am soon 24 years old. I mean this should maybe
give me a big Doong! in my head to think about my future's wishes.
It's really disappointed to see damn kids in the Subway playing with
Gameboys and talking about Games which we guys played already as Japan
versions (years ago) .Well, that's our subway...It's cool indeed...
But it's a shame for my age.
I am bit sentimental these days and for
the biggest reason it's the first time that i really love a girl which
don't love me. Sounds pretty arrogant,but it's true.Normally I was the
one to give the final kick and now i am the bunghole...Well,I will
travel now to the Canary Islands ( Isle of Lanzarote!) and will try
to forget all that shit which happened....If i will come back the year
1996 I hopefully will start like a herotic, brown assed ladykiller.
What else can I tell you ? I wish you all a great Party in Denmark,
I wish you a very zomboid Christmas , I wish I was a baller , I
wish you a fucking great '96.
I wish you many girls at the New Years Evening , lots of alcohol,
many rockets and bombs at silvester...
Well for me, as I told you,I will celebrate my new year in Spain
with Sun, San Miguel Cervezas and hopefully some nice bitches on
the beach or where ever and what ever....

SM: Well folks, it looks like we're finishing up the last year that the
16 Bit console scene will have. After a flood of titles (compared
to the rest of the year) in October and November, things appear to
be slowing down once again, and it would appear that no more than
15 titles (TOTAL for Snes & Sega) will ever be coming out for the
16 bit platforms.
I have to say that though this year in the scene was fun, because I
didn't start doing consoles until March '95, I missed out on the best
years of the scene. When I came in earlier this year, there were
a few groups (SNK, Magic, Napalm, Oldskool, Anthrox, etc) keeping things
active, and it looked like a promising year for the scene. As time
went on, however, a lot of groups have disappeared or merged into
others.
Simply because the 16 bit market is dying doesn't mean that the groups
should start to die with it. There is still a lot of stuff out there
that can be released, whether it be from the USA, Europe, or Japan. If
people started taking an interest in the scene again, we could continue
having a good time instead of going the way of the Dodo.
As for the scene in 1996, I just don't know. Let's all pray that the
Nintendo-64 games are copyable! In the meantime, I look forward to
seeing everybody in the same good old 16 bit scene next year!

eNNAY: Well, here I am typing away on another chart. First of all, I'd
like to thank Fazwonga for asking me to take part in their version
of the scene charts. As some of you might be wondering, what is
happening with Console World, well, there have been many personal
things going on with the editors and we do regret not being able to
release the charts, but perhaps, the issue is not dead as of yet.
On another note, I've decided to comment in this chart since it
does give an international perspective for the console scene. Plus
I liked the way the editors set up things with the ascii screens.
And there was a certain feel to the charts that didn't feel like a
plain rip-job from another chart. :) Well, anyways, as I would say
in Console World 'Let the charts begin!'...

We include all releases from the end of the month in USA time.
So for example... If a group releases a Game in the last hours of
the previous Month in USA Time it's a new month in Europe, but
it was still old month in USA. So we will of course include that....

Snes and Sega Games:
======================
Well , the Console Scene is not just taking place in USA and Europe
and a lot of groups should have the Chance to put their wares to the
Scene. So we will give points (more or less) for people who try their
luck at trainers and to people who release their Games in another
language , even tho, if they have some differences inside.Also we were
waiting 2 weeks for a Crackpatch of DKC 2 to bring it finally to run.
So the effort should be honoured,and so the people of Crack Patches will
get 1 Point.Also Groups will get more Points on their Betas ,because
they were sometimes nearly finished and so it's not fair to slash them
down.Well,if a group bring out a Patch or release the whole Game we won't
argue bad about that,because i know that not everyone has the old Archive
to compare it and some patches didn't work at all.So it's more or less
a privilegue of the group of what they decide .I hope you agree with our
Point System as we try to keep that fair as possible.If you have any
Problems with us then contact us!

Handheld and other Consoles:
=============================
A bit different but not much to comment....Utilities are very useful
and from now on they will be counted regulary. Also other Releases will
be getting points.(Not just the Handhelds!).A lot of guys are demanding
these kind of Console Releases! Games for the Atari Jaguar are very use-
ful for those who got a Copier for that.Also people which have the Atari
Jaguar Developers Kit can use them.(I know a few!).The same for PC Engine
Freaks and Atari Lynx Fans.

Zigor: A fair bunch this month.. Seems like more SNES games from our Oriental
friends than Euro or USA. It's been a poor month for SEGA freeks tho,
I think Sega have moved onto the Saturn in a big way and left their
16bit machine behind! Oh well... Now read on and see what happened...
Faz!: Well, a really sad month compared with November. Seems like the Japan
dudes play their Pachinko Slot Games at the X-mas time (Better take a
trip to Las Vegas!.) Also just 3 Sega Titles till the 21st of this
month.Buhh..Don't they want to make some Turnover at the christmas
time? We dunno! Okay then there were no Handheld Games for ages.I hope
that someone will release some next month.On the other hand it's
cool to see again some nice Jaguar Titles (Pitfall! etc.) and Donkey
Kong Country II for Super Nintendo is for me one of the best games
this year.So we just have to wait what will happen in the future.
We can't change the scene , we can just comment to it!
eNNAY: Boy what a change has it been for this month, compared with last
year, there is nothing really out there left on the 16Mbit machines.
We've seen the earth shattering games last year (ie DKC) which
really showed us that the SNES still has some more life in it.
Well, I do have to give my respects to all the coders in the scene,
I have stressed this before but it's these guys who help us beat the
games, help fix the country protection, and sending them to our
copiers.
SM: I agree with Faz, this month is quite a disappointment when compared to
November. Very few titles came out from the USA & Europe, as compared
to Japanese releases. At least Japan is still demanding good stuff for
the Super Nintendo. In contrast to the ton of SNES stuff that came out,
very few Sega titles were released, which comes as a disappointment since
so many advertised Sega games were killed while still in development. At
least somebody's putting out Jaguar games for those who bought a copier.
All in all, I am still pretty pleased about the amount of people/groups
that got their name in the charts, it means some people still care about
the scene!

Zigor: Wow! I was quite suprised to see these 2 SNES titles, Since they seemed
to be just on BBS in Holland! It was difficult to know exactly which
version of 'Saunders Combat' came 1st.. With less people being able to
call for free globaly, Its not always easy to find out if another
group has released the same title as you!! So a 'Double' has been
given (Since A&S were the other group to release it!).. Anyway,
'Sengokuno' was a certain 1st and the GB stuff is pretty cool... :)
Note.. Since these were late entries, Nobody else got a chance to comment on
them.. but I'm sure they would have said some nice words... :)

Zigor: Cool work.. These Xmas goodies are great! As you can see, Some releases
were 'Double' releases (Cream also put these titles out!) and we really
couldn't decide who was 100% 1st... Its even more difficult since the
Cream titles are released in Holland and the A&S JAP titles in Germany!
Anyway.. If the release is a 'Double' and we can't decide who is first
then BOTH groups get 4 points (Hope its ok!) Well, it doesn't really
change the rankings this month!
Hmm... A 48mb SNES title ?? It was a suprise for a lot of guys...
Is it playable? Is it good ? Who knows... and will we see more SNES
titles greater than 32mb ?? Well, I guess it's no fake but personally
I won't bother upgrading my SWC-DX.. The day of the SNES is going and
my thoughts are on the newer consoles!
Oh well.. Congratulations A&S and bring it all again in 1996!!!
Faz!: Hah, as I told in last month' issue, there is no competitor to ANTHROX
and SWAT. Well, I was wondering about BREATH OF FIRE II and PTO II.
Both were at German Shops as USA Imports, but it took 2 weeks to
release them finally. Very strange, looks like a lot of people are
sleeping , especially in the USA. Congratulations to SHADOW MASTER for
bringing 3 Majors in 2 days.Well, it's always the same to the team
of A&S (-SIGMA SEVEN , WILDFIRE , TWK , PAN , MAD TURNIP and the cool
rest!-) Nice what you guys do for the Scene! - FATAL VICTORY!
The only sad thing is that a lot of Games came twice this month. I
guess the only japan competitor was Cream, but it's hard
to tell you who was first and I will give this workout to ZiGOR ,as
I have not much time left to my trip...
SM: It looks like my group had another great month thanks to the hard work
of all our members. A lot of cool Japanese games mixed in with some
nice USA originals. It's about time we saw the SNES version of
Boogerman, as well as the long awaited Breath of Fire 2 (at least by
me, I love good RPGs). I don't know about releases sitting around for
2 weeks (I wasn't in Europe :) ), but USA titles are getting released
pretty slowly these days, as everyone was busy with the holidays and
I was moving into my new house while on vacation. Thanks to the effort
of these people, however, we got the stuff out in time for you to
enjoy over the holidays : THE WHITE KNIGHT, CYBERCHRIST, KIRK, WILD FIRE
THE SPEED RACER, VIVID, SIGMA SEVEN, PAN, ARCHIMEDE, and MAD TURNIP!
eNNAY: What else is there to say, Anthrox & Swat have been dominating the
scene for the past 3 months or whenever they merged. There are many
factors which help bring upon this situation, like one big factor,
no one really cares about it anymore. I mean PTO II and BOF2 was in
the Canadian shops for days. Well anyways, congrats on your victory
over the dead scene.

Zigor: Well... If we have missed any of the Cream releases then sorry 4 that!
Some titles are 'Duped' since it was very clear that A&S were the 1st..
and then we have a few 'Doubles' (4 points for each!). Anyway..
Goemon 4 was a personal nice suprise (Those Goemon games are great!)
Keep the action going.. (and maybe get some more fast spreaders!!).
Faz!: Boing! Buhmm! Chaek! Yargh! Papillon kicked ass this month.It's really
hard to say something about those dupes.Well,really hard. But I think
Zigor will find a way to point them.Nice work from Papillon as it is
maybe harder for him to get the Japan Games from a BBS instead of the
Internet. Well, love out! I hope that Zigor will find a fair point-
system for the dupes. Personally I got them mixed on my BBS and I saw
the other Versions on other BBS.It's totally difficult to decide who
was first,but for sure I know that VAFFEL KILLER (CREAM) uploaded some
Cream releases to some BBS where he knew that the game was not on! (But
already out from Anthrox & Swat). This was what Sigma Seven told me.
( Example: Dragon Quest 6 was released 6 hours later from Cream)
Well, find it out. It's hard, because less people can call.
eNNAY: Well, it's nice to see some competition starting back in the Jap
wares scene. But as usual, there were the times of dupes and it is
really hard to tell which group came first. There was a time when
most of the euros were actually able to call out and that helped
spark some competition in the scene, but it's totally different now.
SM: Cream did a good job of bringing us some nice playable Japanese games,
as well as the SNES version of No Escape (I didn't even know this was
coming out!). Nice work by Papillon and crew as they consistently
bring us some good stuff from the Far East. In regards to the duping
and doubling, what a mess! Trying to figure out the Jap situation is
beyond me, so I'll leave it up to my cohorts to decide who gets what.
All things considered, a good solid month.

Zigor: Erp! Its a big shame that the game was un-crackable when it was
released from Gewalt... I think the best way is to not alter the
image in any way, So the coders can see for themselves what to do!
Anyway, Its Xmas and so we give full points of 2 (Since both the JAP
and USA versions are already released!!) Cya Lib' and Happy New Year!
Faz!: Well, I am sad that Gewalt haven't put out the Original CartCopy of
it. The Game really kicks ass in PAL. It's harder to play and it makes
lots of fun. Two Crackers asked me to pump out another Version of this
Copy as they all can't crack it. Seems like Gewalt tried to crack their
Game with Unifix, but they changed the whole calculated checksum which
is needed to crack the game. You can ask Popcorn/Nightfall , CONAN of
No Respect or LHA V1.50r which all tried to crack Gewalt's Version.But
no one had luck until we released the uncracked Version. Again all tried
to nag on us for being so lame to bring out the whole Game. Well, as
I am the one who bought the game (to check that stuff)I can tell you that
it's not my work to compare games in order to make a patch.If a cracker
asks me to release a new Version I will do that for him , especially
in case of such an important Game. Until the day when OLDSKOOL brought the
un-cracked version no one made a crackpatch! just some hours later the
OS game was traded all brought out crackpatches and tried to tell you
that it was done by using GEWALT'S VERSION. Well , that's BULLSHIT!
It was impossible to crack Gewalt's Version until you have the uncracked
one.(and this was done by me!). I personally give a shit on.But it's
a thing of Gewalt to bring out a TRY-CRACK. Note to LIBERATOR: as you
thanked Lha V1.50r for the Crack ; I have to tell you that he is from
Berlin and he asked me for a new Release. He has not used your version.
Just to explain. Okay now enough words left on this game now , it's
Christmas and I am a bit drunk. HEHEH, so okay. Well, I love Gewalt.
I love Liberator! And again some people in my town slept....Because
it was in Berlin's shops 2 days before... Nevertheless a nice Job
from Gewalt!
SM: What can I say? DKC II was one of the most awaited games of the year,
and it's a must that a Euro version come out for our PAL friends! It
kind of sucks that this release was uncrackable, but at least Gewalt
made the effort to put it out! A good release for the Euros, though!
eNNAY: Well, I didn't see this title in North America, but I'll take these
guys word on it since I did see the IPS upgrade for it. I don't
really see the difference in these titles, and I'm pretty sure a file
like this would have been nuked 2 years ago.

Zigor: LHA strikes back with another fine release... nice!
Faz!: Ya, cool Lha was first. As I can't say that I was lucky about that!!
(It was really wicked with that game.) I knew about the SNK JAP BETA,
and I tried 2 weeks to get the Game. I believed in my group,but I
was wrong , so we lost on that release and just got the Euro Final
which was not much different. Anyways respect to Lha for doing that.
Finally the game is out and I can play it! This is enough!
eNNAY: Well, it goes to show how active I am in the scene, I didn't even
notice this one as well. :) But naming a group over a compression
format is good enough, then I guess the games are! :)
SM: LHA gives us a nice X-Mas present, since we've been waiting a while

Faz!: Well, I love Nightfall! Greetings to two of my best friends Paolo
(Pop 'the Nose maniac' Corn) and X/\D (yuk yuk 'dave') for bringing
out the Trainer for Diddy Kong Euro and for the rest of their cracks.
I know that these guys could have trained any single game, but due to
the fact of the calling problems in Italy we just saw these few ones.

This 'Premier Manager' is a great release on Sega, Especially if you
like 'Soccer Manager' type games...
Some people say "Why give points for Jaguar??".. Well, Why not??
If you have a Copier-System that loads these images then you have some
fun with these games (I know a few guys with Jaguar and copier!)..
This isn't just a SNES chart magazine.. We cover ALL machines! Anyway,
Thanx to Oldskool for also providing some much needed GB games.. cya!
Faz!: Well, that's my fucking group! Seems like they made more points with
other releases as with Snes (like Utilities , Jaguar and Handheld Games)
Really untypical,but cool that they are now a part of the Console
scene with more and more quality releases. 1 Nice sega First , 3 cool
Gameboy Games , Trainers, patches and some News in 32 & 64 Bit Scene
and the normal Super NES! I was glad that some guys really kicked ass.

SM: Now this is what I like to see! Oldskool brings us titles for almost
every copyable platform out there. Sailormoon is pretty cool and
Premier Manager is an excellent Sega original. I was even surprised
to see that these guys put out Jaguar games this month. It's about
time someone helped keep the Jaguar freaks happy. The Gameboy stuff
was cool, especially BC Kid 2, and the utilities and cracks came in
handy too. An excellent month from a group that looks like its got
its act together! Shouts Out To: FAZWONGA, HEALON, and AGEL!
eNNAY: And here it is, the group which brings us the most controversial
releases. Some people I've talked with didn't really like the idea
of releasing these European finals since the US final is out. Like
I said earlier, I know these files would have been nuked if they
were being spread when the scene was flourishing. But then again, a
lot of things have changed.

eNNAY: I agree with Faz, I didn't really mind the movie. I thought the
stages and sets were beautiful. As for the game, I think we all
know what Ocean does to these movie titles eh? :) With the lack of
interest of the key suppliers in SNK, and me being the only Canadian
SNK member even calling around, things do look gloomy for the big
shoe. Will there be a big comback next year? Not likely. Will SNK
be even remembered at all? Probably. And I must also commend my
good friend Ayatollah for even attempting to train a game, and
releasing the offset values for the others. It's not totally dead,
so watch out for a few surprises in the remaining life of
16Bit.
SM: A cool original from the guys at SNK, though there is some question on
which group had it first. Nevertheless, they're still bringing some
good stuff to the console scene, and I was really surprised to see a
trainer from these guys. Let's hope Ayatollah can keep it up...

Faz!: Yo! Nah, Splat! surprised us last month with better stuff. As I can
tell you , I got that game here 2 weeks before Splat! released it.And
as I compared it with the Anthrox & Swat Version it was just 50 bytes
different (same to the SPAWN Euro Final!). So I didn't bother released
it! This is nothing against Splat! It would have been a cool release,
if it would have had some more bytes of difference.It hasn't, but any-
ways take a look at our point system and you will see that Splat! have
to get 2 on it! Yo folks, continue!
eNNAY: Boy, I didn't see this one either on the North American boards
either, I guess it's due to the lack of Euro callers or it could be
that the US final came out last month or so. There wasn't much of a
difference so who cares right?
SM: There wasn't much difference to the A&S version, but I realize that

Here we take a brief look at the SNES & SEGA scene 1 year ago (Dec'94)
I think it was the best month for SNES releases ever....
A month that won't be beaten! (Do u remember trading any of them??)
Faz!: Well , Zigor this time showed who were the best console traders.
And I want to give out a big respect to the dudes of this time :
[-ENFORCER-] , NosTromo , tCM! , [-AMoK-] which gave me a good comp-
etition. Also there were lotsa other guys which traded like fuck,but
the names above were the most uploaders on console legend boards like
HALL OF FAME , LAND OF CONFUSION , REIGN IN BLOOD , MENACE TO SOCIETY,
NIRVANA , MIRAGE , USS ENTERPRISE , HYSTERIA , BEYOND AKIRA , DANSE
MACABRE , END OF THE WORLD , TERMINAL FROST and some more. Well some
of these Boards are still online,but to that time they were the main
staions were the console elite met each other.And so I call them a
legend.Never forget WET DREAMS (CENSOR WHQ - COOL!).
eNNAY: Now here are the times when people actually had an attitude and an
opinion towards the scene. I remember people posting on M2S
claiming the console scene was dead, I guess they weren't expecting
1995 to be this bad! Well, at least in 1994 there were some boards
actually worth calling (read faz's list) I thought this section was
pretty neat since I recall Zigor reminiscing about the groups in
Baud. (We never did get to see the continuation of it!) Plus,
there were no charts around this time last year, and this is a good
to tell who did what and how. Well, here's my little retroscan
question which I don't even remember the answer to. Which game did
Sneakers release with an INTRO? :) If you know the answer, please
tell me! :)
SM: Here's where I get to look back on the part of the console scene I
missed since I was busy doing the PC scene :(. Since I missed out on
this, I'll just sit this one out and let Faz, Zig, and NA steal the

Faz!: Damn, I dunno why SNEAKERS came down now. They done so much nice things
to us, especially last year.Well , years passed by and we are all
getting older.
eNNAY: Well, I still recall the countless many times all of the 1994 SNK
members would have a nice chat conference talking like good friends
from ages ago, the funny thing was, that most of us haven't even
met. I had some of the best 'scene' memories with these guys and I
hope our friendship will continue on regardless of the status of SNK.
Zigor: 'Uniracers' was a great awaited title and 'Tetris Dr.Mario' was
a personal favourite of mine (I can remember when I leeched it, I
turned off my modem and played that game for 4 hours or so.. Sad?? )

Faz!: I got a lot of friends in Censor and nowadays I still have contact to
some of them. SHAN (one of the coders) is still in love with that
group and told me that he never would forgot what happened to them!
They were a bit slow at December , but nothing to compare if you
know what they do in the past!
eNNAY: I remember Censor being the group which released the cool Sega /
Snes inside games, along with the rare few who put an intro on the
Sega games. I also remember the last days of Censor when it was
being carried off by Delta releasing all their games.
Zigor: Yeah, They certainly has some talented coders in Censor.. Although
I also remember those 'Sega Intros', Unfortunatly some of them caused
the game to crash if you pressed the 'Reset Button'.. Oh well..

Scene and no one will knows when he stop.He did so much for the scene
we have to thankful for. Well , nowadays he does his job for Cream!

scene. He still manages to pull off a few surprises even today
(remember DKC2?) and the guy has been through numerous groups which
