A note of importance
By Rumrunner/VOID

I don't know what you all use internet for, but I for one ususally checks
out 2 diskmag.de0 once in a while, to see if there are any updates, new files
to download, or other stuff of importance. If you too do so, you should have
seen the nte put there by Zito/Scarab.

For all those who doesn't know what this is about, I can sum it up rather
quickly. He states that if there isn't more support for Jurassic Pack, the
mag will probably not be released anymore. Well I think that this is a
shame.

This is not adressed to the makers of the said mag, but rather to everbody
who should contribute with articles, music and cliparts. There are a lot
of people who are fully capable of doing so, but I guess that the 1 everyday-
life attitude,0 2 let somebody else do it,0 has reached them too. Why? There
are a lot of articles to write, with various topics and different views on
a subject. Is it so hard to write an article then? Most people would perhaps
complain about motivation, but this should not be a problem. I can
understand how people could feel back in the days when there were lots of
mags released all the time, and how this could make you feel drained out.
This is not the case anymore. There are long periods of time when nobody
releases anything, and instead of waiting for this period to come to an end
with the words of 1 "the mag will be released in two weeks so start writing"0
or whatever, do some writing occasionally, not just the day before the
deadline. This will make life much easier, both for the writer who is most
likely to write better articles (when there's no time-pressure) and also
for the makers of the mag, who will, for once, be able to release the mag
at the said date. Except for Grapevine from LSD, which had lots of support,
and ofcourse Eurocart when Crusaders was in charge, I cannot recall a mag
being released at the said releasedate. I wonder why (or should that be no
wonder). And by the way, anybody who know of other mags that have been
released on time, please inform me.

Having said that, I would like to ask everybody, can you really afford one
more diskmag disappearing from the Amigascene? If Jurassic Pack draws in the
oars, it will leave us with only Eurochart, Cows'n Snakefights and Saxonia.
This is nowhere near enough to cover all possible topics, if anybody think
that they should be covered. The staff of each of these mags is small, and
it would not be possible to do so without quitting work, school and life.
Is it too much to ask that people who read interesting articles contributes
once in a while? In one way, I miss the days when every swapper needing new
contacts wrote articles for diskmags just to get a free advert. Although
not all articles were even halfway decent, most of them could bring
inspiration and provoking feelings in other writers, who replied in the
next issue. But like I say, you have to look past the endless line of
articles being recompiled jokepages from last issue or from another mag.

Not only do I miss these days, but I also think that, very few things
concerned, all the arguing between groups in the old time was a motivating
factor. Or would you like to see your worst (best?) rival getting more
attention on their articles than you did on yours?

Right, I urge everybody who is interested in keeping the scene up and going
to do some work, in this particular case supporting Jurassic Pack. I don't
think that it's too much to ask, and I 2 know for sure0 that there are many
people who has something they want to say but never bother.
