Imitation by Loonies

Now, this is one of the better 4k intros, I've seen in quite a while.

It all starts out with precalcing, it takes lots of time on my 040-equipped
Amiga 1200. Usually I reset the computer before waiting that long, expecting
nothing to show up anyway. However, I'm glad I didn't do that this time.

The intro starts off with a sequence similar to the opening in Nexus 7
by Andromeda, the effect runs slower but decent anyway, also the music
is "emulated" Nexus7 openingmusic.

The effects in the next part is difficult to describe, since they look
like a slideshow on my computer. It's some lines bouncing about, all
growing out from the center of the screen. This is perhaps the most
disappointing part effects-wise from my point of view, however, the music
is brilliant.

Then, there's a creditsscroller, but also, the computer "says" the names
of the groups credited. I've never heard this before in a 4k, and it's
impressing even though it's a bit hard to hear what's said. The scroller's
not as even as I would have liked to see it, but I guess that that's
probably solved in the next 4k from Loonies.

Now comes the high point of the intro, a copy of the shadecluster-part of
Nexus 7. This is perhaps the best part of the intro, except for some bugs,
which at times makes the display go mad on my computer.

It's about time to close down, so next part simply says the end, and the
intro is finished.

All in all, I like this intro alot, however I would rate the music
higher than the code, simply because it sounds good and plays evenly,
which I unfortunately cannot say about all the effects. Ofcourse, I expect
the intro would look different on a 060, but I don't have one, so vieweing
on such a computer was out of the question.

I really look forward to seeing more intros (and hopefully also larger
productions) by Blueberry (the coder of the intro) and also hearing more
music from Maytz.

Thank you! I've corrected the date in the article. However, some websites list January 1980 as the date of death.
