. . . : ; The "BURNT-MY-TONGUE" Notice

Went down to KFC, because that is where someone important works. I
ordered one of those crispy strips meal. They must have just came out of
that new Domino's bag (that keeps everything nuclear hot) because now my
tongue is singed.

. . . : ; The "ESPECIALLY-GENERIC-ONES" Notice

Don't ask me why I kept this notice the same this week. Just seemed to
go well with "Burnt-My-Tongue". Go figure.

. . . : ; ANNOUNCEMENTS and I hate my job

COLLECTED WORKS MAKES ELEVEN SCORE: 11 new pieces were added to the
Collected Works section this week... it's been a long time, hopefully
these will appease the hungry peasants. We've got new Ben Ohmart
("Minnesota Smith and the Temple of Poon"; "Rock Is Hard"; "The Selling
of America" and "So The Criminally Insane Get The Vote"), new C. Barry
Slough (a new section called the Denver Diaries opens with three
entries), and new Morbus Iff ("I Am A Fictional Character"; "Priest In
Town Watching Game"; "The King Is Alive"; and "The Sacred Head"). Whoo
dog. Have some fun.

NEW DEVIL SHAT (#ThirtyOne): What Would Jesus Do? Morbus talks about the
proliferation of those four words on bracelets, shirts, pins, and
bags... as well as questioning if cutting off a penis really stops rape.
And finally, Discordia brings us a look at women in media.

NEW GHOST SITES (#Seventeen): Large issue for your enjoyment. Covering
such topics as Push Technology, un-ruly, un-updating hackers, dying game
systems, a very gray/grayscale death, and a host of other topics. Does
it relate to life around Disobey? Nahhhhhh... And, Ghost Sites, as
always, got some more awards and kudos, including Netta Gilboa's Gray
Area, the Internet Chart Show Top Ten, and the paper magazine NetLife.

LOW BANDWIDTH: Added a lot of new archives (sample issues, updated
latest issues), modified a lot of listings, added six listings, and
finally got the advertising script running on certain pages. Updates to
the FAQ, advertising, and the main addition. It's finally shaping up to
what I imagined it as.

MAIN PAGE NEW, UGH UGH: We redesigned the main page of the Disobey
website this week. Mainly because we were getting sick of the old one,
and the annoying limitations it had placed on us. The design isn't that
much different. The images are relatively the same. The coding underwent
a tremendous transformation though, which will allow us to make huge
changes to the main page without noticeable load time changes, or large
amounts of effort on our part. We have three other designs that used the
shell of this code... you will be seeing them scattered throughout the
next couple of months. This is a good thing.

. . . : ; EVERYTHING else and I hate my coworkers too

SO, HOW'D THE MARATHON GO? Pretty damn cool actually. Here is a rundown
of what happened (and if you have no clue what we are talking about, go
and find the last issue of Chico's Groove on the Disobey website, and
read the "BLAHBLAHS OF THE WEEK"). Ok, movies we watched (in order): The
Horror Show (from the guy who did F13, part one), The Vanishing (foreign
original, kinda sucked, good dialogue, but just didn't fit into the
whole theme of the marathon), SunDown (hilarious movie with Bruce
Campbell, David "Cain" Carradine, and so on... "lost in vein"), Cronos
(foreign original, damn cool, but still, didn't "fit" into tonight's
showing), WaxWorks (hey, they made a PC game out of this one), The
Killer Shrews (as bad/funny as it sounds), The Video Dead (Zombie Blood
Nightmare and learning to cook for the zombies, and oh yeah, dance too),
Slaughter High (waayyy too long, only a dream tripe) The Rue Morgue
Massacre (horrible flick), and finally, Blood Sucking Freaks (had little
to do with the title). Drive thru totals (thanks, Joe Bob): Four movies
that pretty much announced that this was a horror film ("jeez, that's my
favorite horror movie!, etc...), six or so of the movies were from
Vestron, the now deceased video horror mogul, three bags of popcorn, one
bag of twizlers (red), half a can of cheese curls, two three liters of
"red", one two liter of mountain dew, one two liter of imitation "red"
and an assorted gamut of delivery food (pizza, wings, bread things).
Color of the night: red (duh). Total amount of time it took us to finish
the marathon, all stops included: 26 hours (don't ask). Final consensus:
why haven't we been doing this more often?

THE BEACH TRIP: Yeah, well, I went to the beach with my loved one, and
strangely enough, enjoyed myself. Main reason was because I was with
her, and I love her. Beat Sega's The Lost World on a buck seventy five
(good game), and as always was disappointed with the game ending. Can't
people make good damn endings? It's like they give up or something when
the project is almost done. There needs to be a website about "better
game endings". Who wants to work on it with me?

. . . : ; BLAHBLAHS OF THE WEEK: ( july 2nd - july 16th )

[Soda-of-the-Week]-= Shaw's Grape
---It's near my work, so I go here all the time. Grape has been
---the prevalent choice for the past couple of times. It's good too.
---Doesn't leave that sticky film in your mouth, like Slice kind does.

[Movie-of-the-Week]-= City of Lost Children
---Having first watched this movie long, long ago, before the Groove
---existed, after re-renting it again, it still holds up to the test
---of "kick-ass movie". Wonderful imagery, story, and ideas.

[Dammit-of-the-Week]-= Humidity
---Here I am, sitting in my living room, sweating my proverbial ass
---off, even with a fan going. I'm to cheap to buy an air-conditioner
---so I got this crappy "Windmere" 12inch oscillating fan thing. It
---does a horrible job. And I can't focus it on only me, cos then my
---cats come and sit on my lap, and they only make it hotter. Damn
---cats.

[Here-We-Go-of-the-Week]-= Programming again
---I had tried to get around and see if some people could program some
---ideas of mine. After talking to about 20 people, and half of them
---saying they would, I found that none of them did anything at all.
---So, I started learning programming again. Nothing big. But, soon
---you should see some stupid software programs for the Mac and PC.
---How fun, eh?
