. . . : ; The "OK-I-THINK-I-AM-CALMING-DOWN-NOW" Notice
Yeah, I think I actually took more than one breath this week. Wow,
that's amazing. Having time to breathe and look around at who you're
living with. Hmm. Wow. Man, I shouldn't breathe anymore.
. . . : ; The "SNIFF-SNIFF-SUMMER-COLD!" Notice
Why is it that everytime winter is a bursting the windows, I never get a
cold, and then suddenly "boom! tough actin' tinactin!".
. . . : ; ANNOUNCEMENTS and yes, I know that made no sense
THE GREAT REVIVAL: There has been some associated evil running around
the Disobey site in the past couple of weeks. But hopefully, we are
gonna work around it relatively quickly. We wrote ourselves up a four
step program (no, really, its got four steps!) and once those are done,
we're in prime position to kick some ass:
GREAT REVIVAL, PART ONE: The first step of the Great Revival was
completed this week. Entitled "Stabilize Current Site", it included
fixing the Devil Shat Dictionary (you know, I've determined that I can't
alphabetize for anything), and making sure all the pages of the site
looked exactly the same on a PC laptop with IE 3.0 on it. There were a
bunch of errors within the Collected Works section, but those have all
been happily fixed. And, hey, we got all those stupid little "(c)"
things converted to real life copyright signs! Yeah, pretty amazing,
huh? On to part two of the Revival. (Note: there is still one minor
thing that we need to do for part one, but the damn site we need to
contact keeps getting a dns failure so we can't do it. Bla.)
GREAT REVIVAL, PART TWO: Part two was done relatively quickly. Entited
"Add the little things", it consisted of just putting a few tiny things
up on the website to give it that overall finicky feel. So, we through
up a quick logo on the Detergent page (at the bottom). If you feel
like linking to us with a picture, just run and grab that thing. We can
make custom ones if you want. And hopefully, sometime soon, we will have
some more made up. But we just wanted to get one done, because it's been
a long time coming. We also added a dozen new quotes or so, pushing the
engine up to 337 entries. We played around with our email program to
filter requests for Chico's Groove now also. We never thought so many
people would care about what the hell we did for the week. Ah twell. On
to part three of the Revival.
GREAT REVIVAL, PART THREE: Part three you wouldn't notice at all, as it
concerned getting organized financially and all that paper product
stuff. But, we backed up the subscriber lists for the three zines (which
the last time, was well, erm, never), combined some files, organized
some bills, and checked on our advertising status with Darwin Keyboards
(on Ghost Sites). That was the excitement of Part Three. Onto part four
of the Revival.
GREAT REVIVAL, PART FOUR: Welp, part four is NEW SHIT. That means we can
bring you some more content. We've got a bunch of things planned, and
most of them are all halfway to completion, so it shouldn't be long.
Now, the updates we did this week:
INTERNALIZED: Welp, no more. Nope. Not anymore. We simply decided not to
do websites for other people now. Why? Too much like work for other
people, and we weren't concentrating enough on our own work. So, we cut
off all of the people we were designing and sent them lists of other
people we trust will give them a good site. Hope they don't get pissed.
NEW COLLECTED WORKS STUFF: Yup, we added more stuff to the Collected
Works section, consisting of five short plays from Ben Ohmart (Bought
Course, Charly Chang in Kuwait, Dracula Meets the Mummy, Federal Agents,
and Fresh In It), two new pieces from C. Barry Slough (Making Fissures
of Men and The Hooligan's Catechism), and some new stuff to Morbus Iff
(ain't gonna tell ya). What can you expect in the future? Serials from
Ohmart and more Petit Mal. Why ruin a good thing?
NEW DEVIL SHAT (#Twenty Four): It's about the end of the world, the
laziness of the world, and what you can do to save it. Or something like
that. First time author, Black Tyde, a good friend of ours, appears.
LOW WHA?: We spent two days furious coding and finalizing the newest all
Disobey section. It's damn cool according to the special few who
were allowed to check it out. Hopefully, some time by the end of April,
it will appear.
QUICK UPDATES: Modified the Disobey page in the Detergent section.
. . . : ; EVERYTHING else and I'm going to take a shower
GOD, I LOVE THIS NEW COMPUTER: Now, I can play games online, and look
like I'm working! It's great. Hehe. Oops, I mean, um, work, create,
pillage, plunder. Dammit, what is it I do again?
SO, WHAT THE HELL IS DISOBEY?: This is a chat log one of our readers sent in:
eipo: whats in your website?
Ramonaa Q: It's not my website, but it's reallyreally groovy! <S>
Ramonaa Q: E-zines, stories, uhh somethings that can't be classfied!
<pft> I suck at describing...it's just neat...trust me!
eipo: sexy groovy....or 60's groovy?
Ramonaa Q: uhh....I thought there was only one definition for
groovy ever...
eipo: so are pics...rated g,r, or x?
Ramonaa Q: uhh.....it's not a perv site, if that's what you're asking...
eipo: lol...any of you?
Ramonaa Q: No...it's not my web site. I'm just a groupie.
The key thing to remember is that Disobey has groupies. We should be
raking in the cash any moment now.
WE JUST HAD TO: This is a capture from an issue of Zentertainment. This
is funny. Guess the poster boy has a secret: "According to the TORONTO
STAR, copies of Leonardo DiCaprio's 1995 film TOTAL ECLIPSE have been
pulled from U.S. video stores. DiCaprio plays poet Arthur Rimbaud in the
film, and in one scene, the TITANIC star appears in a naked love scene
with David Thewlis." Heh heh.
. . . : ; BLAHBLAHS OF THE WEEK: ( mar 27th - apr 9th )
[Impatience of the Week]-= Getting Computer Speakers
---See I went to a store to get speakers because where I initially
---wanted to buy them from ran out the day I had the money. So,
---knowing fate, the day I finally got them was the night they
---got more stock in of the ones I wanted. And so it goes.
[Movies Morbus Watched of the Week]-= Yup.
---Prophecy II (blah, didn't like)
---The Town That Dreaded Sundown (good)
---Bad Taste (hilarious, gore, damn stupid)
---Puppet Master (classic, love this series)
[TV Show of the Week]-= Well, actually... concept...
---That doesn't sound nearly as cool as it looks in print.
---There was an hbo, cinemax and showtime free preview this
---weekend. As if this was even a contest, what the hell's gonna
---beat a triple threat preview weekend? the new puff daddy video?
---Cool as it was, "Victory" was just the Running Man as directed
---by Hype Williams. Ok, need another reason? Well...
---it's puff daddy. end of argument.
[Neccesary Evil of the Week]-= Repeating the exact same story...
---each time a new person joins the conversation. this goes beyond
---"filling in" someone. Let's say you just got done explaining some
---aspect of your life's value system. A particular value the other
---participant in the conversation doesn't seem to agree with. Now
---let's say someone walks up and ask's you what you're talking about.
---In an attempt to "fill in" this newcomer, you repeat word for
---word exactly what you just said further upsetting the original
---conversant. this sucks.
[Soda of the Week]-= Surge
---This will be soda of the year. I am officially addicted
---to this sperm count lowering wonder liquid. Yakub drinks
---an average minimum of three liters a day.
[Wishful Thinking of the Week]-= Remixing
---Yakub's authorized remixing of the Elevator Drops. This must
---happen... please lord in heaven, this must happen.
