ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ> PBX Hacking... A New Fad :
Everyone nowadays knows what a PBX is... For some, it's a cheap
way of calling LD... For Elites and Courriers, it's a way of life... It
has gotten to a point where we can't BBS without them... Or almost
not, anyways...
PBX: Private Branch Exchange
But of course, everyone knows that to... But how are they
obtained? Ahhhhh... Now we get to the interesting part...
Most people are familiar with the famous ToneLoc... The Tone
Locator... And almost everyone has gotten a chance to test it's
God-Like power of pulling PBX's out of the system like magic... Well,
that's the easy part of PBX Hacking... I have had the privelige of
being one of the few people in 514 to have installed Code Thief Deluxe
and to test it's not-so-God-like powers...
First of all, one has to know the amount of digits in the PBX
code... Which can be from 3 to 13... The hell is just starting... Then,
you have to know the mask... Oh no! What's a mask! That's what most
people will shout out... Well, you can have many different masks...
Which is, in other words, the order in which you have to dial up your
numbers... Some examples:
PBX,,,,9,,1+AC+XXX-XXXX
PBX,,,,9,,AC+XXX-XXXX
PBX,,,,1+9+AC+XXX-XXXX
And so on, and so on... now after you have all this, here comes
the big surprise! I have worked out a little graph table, from 3 digit
codes to 6 digit codes... You better have a seat while reading this...
ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÂÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ¿
³ PULSE ³ TONE ³
ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÅÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÅÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ´
³ 3 DIGITS ³ 16.65 HOURS ³ 11.1 HOURS ³
³ 4 DIGITS ³ 6.94 DAYS ³ 4.63 DAYS ³
³ 5 DIGITS ³ 69.44 DAYS ³ 46.30 DAYS ³
³ 6 DIGITS ³ 694.4 DAYS ³ 462.9 DAYS ³
ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÁÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÁÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ
Quite awesome, huh? All this is based on the fact that Code
Thief takes 40 Seconds per code on a TONE Line, and 60 Seconds per
code on a PULSE Line...Imagine if it's a 10 digit code. With a TONE
Line, it'll take 12 860 years!!! Which means that unless you are
extremly lucky, PBX Hacking is better off left to the experts... Most
PBX's are probably leaked out from BELL, or something else... Here is
a tip from Rock Steady, who has had a good amount of success in
PBX's:
" Instead of trying to hack a PBX and staying in front of your
computer while it dials the same number over and over again, and
amounting to no good, what you should do is use ToneLoc, and simply
scan every extender until you find a Non-Coded PBX... It's the only
way to go! "
Well, that terminates this little lecture on PBX Hacking... Hope it
helped.
