Sicilian pirate cassettes for Commodore 64
Among other Sicilian pirate compilations (Trinacria compilations), we remember the series The Best Software, sold for 10,000 lira, which presented the black and white cover printed with a common printer and a little printed manual. The used cassette was a common music cassette.
Then there were the Franco Catania Editions, which make us guess the city of origin, namely Catania, and was one of the first Sicilian pirate collections since it began in January 1985. The cover had a good quality.
There were also "Number One Software" which were compilations with more games than competitors. The cover print was of good quality and the cassettes had a custom label similar to what Trinacria did.
In the area of Messina and its surroundings were also available the S.B.S. packages, compilations that were initially sold together with the Commodore 64 by the CIME (Centro informatica meridionale) and then also spread through retail sales. Cassettes featured the word Edilcomput which was a company that sold professional Commodore connected to CIME, and were used for compilations because they were made redundant. The compilations were made according to moment requests or by putting games based on customer's request.
Finally we have to remember also the Sicilian compilations of E.T.S. Palermo software called E.T.S. SUPER GAME, which had many releases and lasted many years, to the point of exceeding 50 releases. Each issue contained several Commodore 64 games. It is suspected that E.T.S. Software Palermo has also been the producer of one or more of the compilations mentioned above.
