Mozzarella and Salad
This is a fresh mozzarella and salad combination, perfect for a workplace lunch, healthy and stress-free!
Ingredients:
- 1 ball of fresh mozzarella cheese
- A handful of fresh basil leaves
- 2 large ripe tomatoes, sliced
- A small handful of black olives, pitted
- Extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling
- Balsamic vinegar, for drizzling (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Pack for the Workplace:
- Seal all the vegetable and the olive on the container with a tight-fitting lid to keep everything fresh.
- You can pack the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper separately and add them just before eating to keep the ingredients crisp.
- Prepare the Ingredients usually all at the work place:
- Slice the mozzarella into 1/4 inch thick slices.
- Wash and slice the tomatoes.
- Rinse the basil leaves and pat them dry.
- Assemble the Salad:
- On a plate, lay down a bed of sliced tomatoes.
- Arrange the mozzarella slices on top of the tomatoes.
- Scatter the basil leaves and black olives over the mozzarella and tomatoes.
- Season the Salad:
- Drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the salad.
- If desired, also drizzle a bit of balsamic vinegar for an additional depth of flavor.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
