[2] Forewords
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey, what's this?! TWO issues of VEXNEWS on the very same day? Yeah, seems
like it! Let's chock everyone and do something unexpected I thought, as
always, and there was more things to tell as the day passed by which was
not included in the previous issue. I hope everyone is looking forward to
find these qute little newsletters dropping down in the mailbox, so here's
another one! We're not a weekly, biweekly or monthly publication in any
way, we do exactly as we want, as we always have done, and you never know
when to expect a new issue.... ;-)
[3] Old Issues of VEXNEWS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
For new subscribers to the list we can now present an easy way to get hold
of the previous issues of the newsletter. Follow the instructions below and
you should recieve the one you want within a few hours at maximum. Do NOT
send additional requests if you do no receive anythign right way, allow
atleast 24 hours before suspecting anything might be wrong!
Send an email to xxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxx.xxx with the subject "get" and the item
you want, you may leave everything else blank. An example follows...
To: xxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxx.xxx
Subject: get vexnews1
You may replace the number with the matching one of the issue you want,
starting from 1 and up to the current. Also available is Phoenix Public PGP
Key which can be obtained with the subject "get pgpkey".
[4] Notes about the WWW site
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The WWW site announced in VEXNEWS #4 is _not_ accessable from CAB due to
it's limits and that it doesn't support the password protection. There was
no way around this unfortunately, and therefore CAB users must use the FTP
site instead until CAB get's updated.
There are a also number of sites that will permit public Lynx access via
telnet and a guest account, for those who _really_ want to use WWW.
sailor.lib.md.us (login as 'guest') ver. 2.7.1
public.sunsite.unc.edu (login as 'lynx') ver. 2.5
cwispub.unh.edu (login as 'cwispub') ver. 2.7
trfn.clpgh.org (login as 'trfn') ver. 2.6
lynx.cc.ukans.edu (login as 'lynx') ver. 2.5
philadelphia.libertynet.org (login as 'liberty' no password)
[5] Vectronix is the Number #1
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vectronix would like to thank everyone who voted for us in the Undercover
Magazines voting chart. We are honoured by the first place and it
encourages us to continue supporting the atari scene. Thanx to everyone,
keep up the good work!
We'll see if there will be any more cracking charts in coming UCM issues
though as some people seems to think it does not belong in a scene
magazine. We think it's a weird point of view as without the underground
scene there would be no atari scene to speak about at all!
Maybe a cracking chart is not needed because there is not many active
groups left today, but that's a completely different story....
We are still honoured though, no matter what, and it feels great that you
guys are still trusting in us. Thank you all!
[6] New PacifiST Mailinglist
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you'd like to join a brand-new PaCifiST related mailing list then just
send an email to pacifist-list-request@fatal-design.com with the SUBJECT of
the message set to "SUBSCRIBE". You'll receive full details back again and
can unsubscribe at any point.
These words are coming from Rich, the owner of the Little Green Desktop WWW
page which deals with PacifiST related things, and also the owner of this
new mailinglist. If you're interesting in PacifiST it's recommended to sign
up to this list immediately!
[7] Publication of Contents
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Other non-profit magazines and/or organisations are free to use, quote, or
copy parts of the contents of the news letters as long as the mailing list
is not mentioned anywhere and the material is not used against Vectronix in
any way what so ever. Source may be refered to as "Vectronix", but not the
list. We also ask you to inform/contact us if you're planning to use the
information somewhere, this only for the purpose of our information.
