Dear Players,
This should be the month of the code and the world update. Perhaps not
always visible, but imagicaMUD is always under development. It is our great
pride to present it to you soon. A lot of things have changed in the last
few months. We are working on the documentation to make it less time
consuming to get things done, getting tasks assigned to people, creating
administration tools and much more. We made a list of things we want to
change, or at least review, in Imagica and we came up with more then 70
items.
We are trying to do our best in making Imagica a better place, but we cannot
do it on our own. Therefore I would like to address each and every player to
provide us feedback. Tell us what you like, tell us what you don't like. We
need that information to determine what our priorities are, and what we
might have to change.
Imagica is for everyone to enjoy and play, so I hope you all will bare
with us in the next coming years as we try make it all come true.

A few things have happened since the last issue. Please find a quick
summary of the events below. There is more information to read about
some of it in the articles later on.

Changes in the Immortal Realms
===================
The following changes have been made in the Immortal Realms since our
last issue.
- Radagast has resigned due to lack of time.
- Mender has stepped back from his Master Building duties to take on a
more supervisory role.
- Lunah has taken over the role of Master Builder.
- The Problem Solver level has been raised from Gaffer to Director, thus
gaining Atrus a level. The Gaffer level is now meant for assistant coders.
- Atrus is the new Head of REI, and has also joined the Quest team.
- Crisstilynn has joined the REI and the Quest team.
New Clan Policy
===================
Crisstilynn has re-written the clan policy to be more clear and cover
more information. The new policy can be found on the Imagica website.

We are happy to announce the engagement between Amalthea & Gannon.
The couple started dating some time ago and have now decided to tie the
knot.
They're planning a quiet ceremony with only a few of their friends present,
and advise that the invitations will be forthcoming once a time and date
has been set.

Wanted: Gossip Columnist
The Imagica Imagizine is looking for a Gossip Columnist to be in charge of
a gossip column with RP gossip.
The column would consist of funny/interesting gossip about the mobs/Gods
and mortals of Imagica. (All RP oriented, not about the players) It could be
information on who's dating who, some juicy information on someone's
dark past etc etc.
If anyone would be interested in the position, please submit your application
to the Imagizine Editor; Lunah. Please mention why you are interested in the
position.

Exploring
Exploring may require time, and it may be dangerous, but
in the end it can be rewarding. Perhaps you find something
that no one else has, or you discover something very useful.
Even just knowing different areas makes things much easier
as you can get around the world a little better.
Useful, not all necessary, Items (for exploring):
a light (unless you have infravision)
a weapon (or two if you can wield left handed)
a set of armour (a bronze set is really quite nice for
armour, especially when enchanted.)
When exploring, you must keep a watchful eye (no pun intended).
Look at the descriptions of where you are.. CAREFULLY. You'll often
see a clear indication of something dangerous like a DT, or perhaps
something useful.
Don't forget the ability to scan the area. It can give you an idea
of who is near by. It could be an aggressive monster for instance. In
this case, you can run past them or attack first. Or at the very
least be prepared for attack.
If you have infravision, or the room next to you is not a dark room,
then looking at 'exits' is a very useful. Often the names alone
will indicate trouble. You may enter a room but the exit that
you'd think would go back to where you came from has actually
changed (sometimes into a DT). Exits will show you this as well
as rooms in general. And in some places, looking at a direction
will give you an idea of what's there.
If you have the track skill, use it!
Another idea is that, you wait until you have a house before you
explore extensively. Then you can put your belongings in a safe
spot and then explore with items you do not really care if you lose.
Basically, practice common sense. If you are afraid of dying, then
you will have to get over that fear or not find much at all. What
I mentioned above may at least help some. And for those who already
knew this, why are you still reading? Anyhow.. have fun!

New Builders
Imagica is always looking to expand its world and there are currently
several new people starting to build their own zones. We are looking
forward to several new world updates in the near future adding new
pieces of world to Imagica.
If you're interested in building yourself you can contact Lunah, who's
Imagica's Master Builder. E-mail her your idea for a zone, what level
range you imagine and any other information on your plans. Making a
map is always helpful, for yourself as well as the Master Builder.
If you're a new Builder, it's advised that you start with a zone no
larger than 100 rooms. 70-100 rooms is a good size of a zone to start
with.

requests to be an Imagica builder.

World Update
The world update is drawing nearer and is expected within the next week.
There are several new zones, as well as some updated ones. There are two
new hometowns; one for Giants and one for Goblins, both with a newbie
zone attached.
We wish you a good time exploring the new areas (once you find them).

Imagicans,
A while back, the immortals decided it would be a good idea to have
a council, the Coucil of Elders. This council was designed to help
mortals communicate with the immortals, in hopes to improve the world.
The idea is that any mortal who would like to discuss isssues or ideas
should bring it up to the council (This means talk to us!), who will
then meet with the immortals and discuss the ideas. The results then
will be posted on the social board.
The council consists of Choradan, Mithrandir[1], and Metgod.

The Clan Policy has been modified and updated to cover the current
situation of the Clans in Imagica. You can find the new Clan Policy
on Imagica's website (https://jimagica.net) under 'Clans'.
BoA has been removed from Imagica after the Leader and Representative
resigned.

Quests are proceeding on a regular basis with Role Playing Weeks every
once in a while. We are currently working on a possible idea for a
Quests schedule, which will then be published on the Imagica website.
At the moment you are able to see the Archive of old quests, as well as
the current planned quests on the website under the 'Quests' page.
Since the last issue of Imagizine Crisstilynn and Atrus have joined the
Quest Team and will assist in arranging and running Quests in the future.

The REI team has been a little lacking lately since Nix resigned. Therefore
Atrus has been elected the new Head of REI to put some spark back into the
team. Also, Crisstilynn has joined the team and will assist Atrus in promoting
the Role Playing in Imagica.
A few of the things that the REI Team will work on are:
- A list of objects the players can trade their RP points for
(Until an actual shop has been setup for this)
- Occassional social events
- Awarding of RP points

We're happy to announce Imagica's Poetry & Story Contest.
You're all more than welcome to submit your poetry and/or stories for
the contest. The last date of submission is the last of May.
There are a couple of simple rules.
- It has to be written by you.
- Stories need to be about your own character, either before
it came to Imagica, or something happening in Imagica.
- If you mention any character that is not your own in your
story/poetry, please make sure that the player playing that
character is OK with this.
All submissions (unless otherwise requested) will be published
on Imagica's homepage.
Poetry submissions should be sent to Lunah (Lunah at email.jimagica.net)
Story submissions should be sent to Shayla (Shayla at email.jimagica.net)
