I have the following system for sale :

Atari 520 ST with, external drive(ssdd), mono monitor,
system disks, and various software ( tell me what you
are looking for ).

Software that might be of interest to some :
- 1st word word processor
- Uniterm vt100 term program w/ xmodem/kermit
- protocols and tektronic graphics emulation
- Hippo C compiler
- Degas , publishing/paint program
- Asmpro ,a 68000 assembler.

external 1200 baud modem with cable and manual

asking $300 , or best offer (price includes shipping ).

As a last resort , I will split up the system but, the
prices may be less negotiable. I used it as a general
purpose machine in college and it served me well. I
am now selling it because I have a 386 system.

Thanks

Golando.

Got it sorted working on a Mega STe, it will give 3 or 4 bombs at the 1st read
after cold boot, reset it and touch the space bar in the second boot then it
would shows the message and the fly bounce out O and a digitized voice comes
out then the loading of demo. Unfortunely the Color monitor I tried can't
sync. with it so the screen just keep scrolling. Will try again with the
monitor adjusted to see whether it works. And it won't boot from the 1040ST
with TOS1.2 so probably it needs STE type machine.

What is involved in hooking up an HP Laserjet IIIP to my computer? Are
there any features I would not be able to take advantage of? What about
fonts? Will the new GDOS work well with it? I have Pagestream and
WordPerfect (which both have drivers for Laserjets), how well do these
work? What about the options for the printer (i.e. toner cartridges, font
cards, memory upgrades, etc.)?

Thanks in advance,
Stephan A. Puga

520 ST with Z-RAM (2.5 MB total) plus color monitor
plus doublesided drive plus Wico joystick.......... $500

Supra 2400 Modem plus Flash software.................... $50

ST Monochrome monitor................................... $100

Spectre GCR with Apple ROMs............................. $325

All prices include shipping and handling up to $20/item. After that,
I would ask buyer to make up the difference. Sales are to first
contact or best offer short of publicized price. All items are in
perfect working condition, except that the 520 ST is superficially
scratched. Anyone who buys my system gets any software I own (including
the games Gunship and DungeonMaster). Please respond to my email
account. Thanks for your business,

Gregory Stein

Oops, I left out one quetion. Do these Mega-Demos use some sort
of video mode that I am unaware of or something. I have to adjust my
Vertical-Hold knob on my Multi-Sync monitor when I run most demos. This
is not a complaint! I am just curious if I am missing out on a special video
mode (I do a little Assembler dabbling myself).

Thanks In Advance!

The mode you're missing out on is known as 50 Hertz mode or PAL. All the
great demos come from Europe where the sync standard is different. While
some software hack will let you display a PAL mode program, the monitors
we have here in the US really aren't designed to use that mode, so you get
vertical rolling and/or other problems (like flickering). A few demos I've
seen have a command to toggle between modes however.
