Does anyone know of a good PD 68000 Disassembler? and an assembler for that
matter????

I am prgramming MACRO (assembly) on the VAX and I would like to learn assembly
on the ST. I would also like to see about portings some of my stuff back and
forth between the two. Just for practice... and a great way to learn 68000
assembly....

Thanks in advance....

OK, here's the deal...

I plan on purchasing a TT when/if they ever materialize, but in the
meantime, I would like to upgrade my existing ST system without
having to buy a new Mega.

I have a 4 year old Atari 520 ST (not one of the old trouble-making
originals with the bad power supply and first-off-the-assembly-line
revision on the motherboard...this was purchesed during the last half of 1986,
and has the second revision motherboard -- revision B, I think? - it's
been a few years since I opened it up.)

Anyhow, I piggybacked another half a meg worth of chips on top of
the originals shortly after purchase...and there she sits: a 1 Meg
ST...chugging along happily for nearly half a decade with no problems,
no woes, no mishaps of any kind...now here comes Daddy, and he's gonna
open 'er up again like so much oysters...

I would like to bump the memory up to 2.5 Megs. Now, I know what
has to be done....that's not the perpose of this inquiry...the
question I put forth to y'all is: *should* it be done?

Given the history and age of my machine, will it survive? Will its
power supply be able to handle the additional RAM? Has anyone
had any problems with older machines and power supply problems to
greater thann 1 Meg worth of chips?

Any response is welcome. e-mail it to me below, or, if you
think its benificial information for the community in general,
just post it...but a quick response is required, I have an
itchy soldering finger...

Thanks in advance...

Greetings,

Is there a way to hook an atari color monitor to a PC clone?
If so, what resolution will it run i.e. CGA, EGA, etc.

Please reply to me directly, I do not receive this digest.

Thanks,

I am looking for a cheap cable for my ST which runs from the monitor output on
the back of my ST to my RGB Magnavox monitor. I have been told that they can
be made up, I am currently looking for a good price on one.

How can You say that AMCGDOS is PD, if there is clearly a copyright
in the program startup? AMCGDOS is free ONLY for NON-COMMERCIAL usage!
If You want to buy a licence, You have to contact Atari Germany or
the author Arnd Beissner!

Otay, thanks. I've still got my on the book at the mall. It has a section
on the 8086! Gee, I don't need that. Also NO where does even mention the
Atari ST.
Is there a newer release? One that even mentions the ST?

Message-ID: <9217.25ea918c@ecs.umass.edu>

Hi All,
I'm having trouble with transfer from the VAX (running VMS 5.2) and my
1040 ST (using Uniterm V2.0e 002). I've tried both xmodem (I don't know the
version number on the VAX) and VMS Kermit-32 version 3.3.118.

I am able to send files from my ST to vax, But I can do the reverse. With
both methods I get disk write error just before it is complete. According to
the transfer screen, it transferes, but the file doesn't get written to the
disk.

I was able to do this with the school's AT&T computers, but not my own. If
anyone has any ideas, please either post them, or e-mail me direct.

Thanks (in advance).

This has most likely been on the net before so replies to this query
should be Emailed if possible.

Query.. I have just got a copy of Sozobon C and began to right of
couple of programs for it. One of these programs was a simple screen load
program to swap between screens stored in memory. This program required the
use of the Gemdos function Malloc, however the complier refused to complie.
Thinking that this was a fault in the program I just entered I entered this
very small program:

#include <stdio.h>
#include <osbind.h>

main()
?
long address;
address=Malloc(-1);
printf(address);
?

The complier returned with Malloc failure.

I am doing something wrong or is there a bug in the complier? If it is
a bug is there a way round it.

Thanks in advance

Dave
