Previously posted: but it seems to have been swallowed by the net Gods.

I am looking for a good geneology (family tree) program.
Anyone out there use one or more of them, and if so, what
are your opinions of:
ease of entry
ability to edit or add to existing entries
outputs

Thank you

Basicly, Yes!
1. Make sure that the replacement is the same type. That is, MFM, RLL, SCSI.
2. Give some thought to the power supply capacity in the SUPRA box. As
they supported many drives, it can probably handle whatever you buy.

If there is an Adaptec 4000A inside, its MFM.
If there is an Adaptec 4070A inside, its RLL.

Are those the single or double sided drives? I would be interested in a double.

Sure, there is a great reason, and you hit it on the nose.
Atari has *NEVER* been any good at marketing in the U.S.
And they don't seem to be heading in the right direction yet either.
Atari is able to make decent to good products
inexpensively and they sell them where people appreciate that,
Europe mainly, and most other countries except the U.S. Marketing
here takes a lot of know how that Atari just doesn't have. Besides,
the cost that it takes to meet the FCC regulations in the U.S. just
doesn't seem to fit with Atari's "make 'em as cheap as possible"
policy. The end result: America doesn't get many computers from Atari.

I find this very hard to believe. I belong to a Users Group (LAUG)
in St. Charles, IL (west of Chicago). We are extremely anti-piracy.
There are no copyrighted programs in our Library and we do not
allow any to be brought to the meetings or exchanged there. I know
that the policy at SCAT (another Chicago users group) is the same.

I would be naive to think that no one there has these type of
programs at home, but they are not brought or discussed at any of
our meetings. I just can't imagine there are very many Atari User
Groups that condone such activity. Are you sure that you aren't
a MS-DOSer trying to spread rumors?

NO it cannot be used this way. The screen runs at 70 frames/sec on an
Atari Mono monitor. Composite (TV Compatible) is 60 frames/sec.

Message-ID: <90Feb8.215641est.58581@ugw.utcs.utoronto.ca>

The publication Parallelogram, devoted to parallel processing, stated in
the Nov 89 issue that there are >200 ATWs installed worldwide. For somone
looking for info on parallel processing systems, I suggest you look in
publications devoted to these machines.

This note is in response to the query, 'Where is the ABAQ'

If 200 machines seems like small potatoes, on the back cover of the issue
MEIKO Scientific boasted about the fact that they have >200 workstations
installed world wide! The same people who would bash Atari for only 200
installations would not dare flame anyone else!

Has anyone seen Atari's latest figures on the number of STs and Megas installed
worldwide?

David,
I don't think ZOO.TTP is the problem; I experienced the same
thing recently. The problem was in the files themselves...
If you are ftp'ing, make sure you use BINARY mode; when the
ftp is complete, verify that the size of the file is the
same size as on the server. ftp will modify the file during
transfer unless you use binary mode.
