1-you can get an accelerator board for any amiga and use a 68030, Commodore
is currently developing UNIX for the Amiga.
2-I dunno!
3-Commodore does for sure, a plan just implemented, about 40% I believe, to any
student.
4-does not apply!
5-The Amiga has a custom chip set that takes care of many processor jobs,
speeding up programs that have heavy data movement and such. The graphics
have 4096 colors, displayable all at once. Don't throw away your software,
you can get the Mac emulator. The amiga 3.5 has 880k where the Atari has
about half. You can get a hardware emulator for a 286 pc.

|Problem: The computer seems to turn itself off. It's especially bad when I
|first turn it on. I'll be typing, or just sitting there watching it, and it
|will just sortof shut down.(Monitor goes balck, power light goes off) Then if
|I tap the computer, it comes back on. Sometimes it stays on for a long time,
|other times it flickers for a few seconds and then dies again. I thought about
|reseating the chips, but I couldn't figure how to remove the big square ones.
This sounds like a *very* common 1040STf/520STFm problem. That is why I am
posting here instead of only responding by Email.
The Power Supply has a lot of problems with *poor* soldering.
This is especially true on the older style power supplies. The solution is
to open your ST (remove the AC power first, of course) and remove the power
cover and then remove the power supply. Remove the four (4) screws that hold
the power supply circuit board down and gently flip the board over so the
solder side is exposed. Inspect all the solder connections paying particular
attention to area around the center of the board. Using a 25 watt (or so)
soldering iron touch up all questionable connections and be careful not create
any solder bridges (*zap*). If you have *any* doubts about your ability to
do this correctly contact your nearest Atari repair.

Hi,
I got a newsletter from Gribnif software detailing their new products
and changes to NeoDesk. I'd like to ask them some questions about these
products, esp. the Neodesk CLI but although I've been searching, I can't
seem to find any email address for either Gribnif or Dan Wilga himself.
Does anyone have their adddress? Please email it to me....
Eternal thanx!
Mark.

I know this is not a very technical message but
who cares! Need to relax at some point right?
I just bought a new game called MidWinter.
It is a mixture of strategy, adventure, and
adventure. The basic idea is to protect your
island from an invasion force. This takes
place during a new iceage. You have 32 people
you can ultimately control. The objective is
to slow the invasion so you can send a small
group to destroy the enemy headquarters. The
modes of transportation are
skiing
snow buggying
hang gliding
snow lift
All these are from first person perspective
Each person has a sniper rifle, grenades, and
dynamite for sabotage. The enemy is composed
of different snow vehicles.
This is a sweet game. Good to sink into after
work or school.

Symptoms: *SLIGHT* upward distortion on left side of monitor. Every
once in a while the whole screen shakes, as if the monitor is swaying.
What do you think is causing this?

I'm interested that there's a new release. My old version, 1.5 I
believe, had interesting features eventhough being bugged.
My question to the net: does there exist a demo version of SHEET
between my version 1.5 and the new announced 3.0?
Also, how does SHEET compare to OPUS?
As an aside: I saw SHEET, and other shareware, being sold on public
domain disks here in France. Maybe the authors should collect
royalties? :-)
As always, you may reply personally and if there's enough interest
I'll post a summary.
Thanx.

Hi there.
I have a problem concerning the compatibility of the 1040 STe. I tried
to run STOS on it, and it results in about (no sure) 4 2 bombs. Any
idea why?
Next question: Is there any public domain software on the net which uses
the specific abilities of the STe (scrolling, DMA sound,...)
Are there any patches to the TOS?
These are my questions (for now). Hope anyone can answer them.
You can get me at: GHGADMO at BLEKUL11
