There is one in Princetown....on route one....it's called Softwear
Station....they are a registered Mega dealer
They are located in a mall but it looks more like a little city, can't
remember the name though (of the mall that is, but it is on route one)

Atari ST could you please send me a copy.
Thanx,

Material published in STart is not PD. If you want it, buy STart -- it
is a real bargain. Reposting to UseNet groups is not legit.
If you give away stuff that is as cheap as this, the only stuff we'll be
able to get for the ST will be pretty damned expensive!

I have version 1.67 of ZMDM, dated Sept. 1989. The ST Enthusiasts are
at Case WRU and I got my copy from Bammi there -- he just sent me
a change of address notice which is sitting on my work machine, but I
can look it up later. It's a super program -- whether it solves the
bugs that Covert goes on to list I don't know. There were some bugs in
1.65 and 1.66 that Bammi fixed very promptly.
I think that he is out of town for a while. Let's see if he answers
this posting, as the authors should be the ones to distribute software,
and my version has some special patches in it.

Subject: Thunder! has a problem when "not installed"
Message-ID: <2269@kodak.UUCP>
I have been experiencing a problem with my hard drive in that my ST
would seemingly hang when opening a GEM window. (I once posted a note
asking for help here.)
This problem persisted using different cpu's (a 520 and 1040), and
different TOS's (1.0 and 1.4). It persisted with different mmu's. It
persisted with different disk driver software (I tried Atari's and
Supra's). The only thing I hadn't changed was the disk drive, so I
upgraded to a bigger drive, and sure enough, I still had the problem.
I finally found the problem!
The Thunder! spelling checker accessory (by the now defunct Batteries
Included) has an option to select whether or not to load the main part
of the accessory. If the program is configured to always load Thunder!,
there's no problem. But, if it is configured to bring up the dialog box
to ask whether or not to load it, and "no" is selected, then a piece of
Thunder! is left hooked into the system which causes the problem. It
appears that 8 programs will run before the system hangs.
In order to have the option of loading Thunder!, I wrote a small auto
folder program to rename Thunder! as required. I will email it to anyone
who requests it.
Although I know the first rule of debugging these problems is to remove
all auto folder programs and accs, and I tried these methods, I never seemed
to make the connection of Thunder! in the non-loaded mode with the problem
I was experiencing.
BTW, Thunder! works ok on TOS 1.4 except for the problem noted.
I hope my experience helps someone else out there.

And 68010 compatibility of TOS 1.6? I know, it is not such an improvement
as a '30, but one might get a faster ST, and it may work.
Any comments from Atari on this?
An while I'm at the subject: could Atari release details about the
programming of the STE? I would love to get one if I could use its
extended possibilities. Sorry, I can't afford to become I registered
developer for this. I am just hacking on the Atari as a hobby, and
the required $100 or $200 is just too big a dent in my budget for that.
In my opinion there are a *lot* of ST users who would like to get the
real info on the ST instead of the unreliable books that are sold
today. Thus, I strongly disagree with Ken (was it Ken?) who thinks that
there would be no market for this. After all, since there has been
little advertising of the ST, ST owners tend to be people who know the
field, and know that a bad ST is better than a good mess-dos machine.
(This is not a flame to Ken, just a difference of opinion.)
