I've just started playing Chaos and I've been very dissapointed by a bug
I've come across
which causes the game to crash out with two bombs.

It's caused if you walk past the wall with the words "Give up - pull the
lever" then take a right and
try to climb down a rope into the pit on your left. The game just crashes !!!

You have been warned ...

Sorry for the repeat but I posted this about a month ago and to date
1-4-90 I have received 0 responses. I hope people were on vacation,
and that someone out there can help me.

I've looked but can not seem to find the GFA basic compilier for
version 2.0. Does anyone know where I can find it, or does anyone
want to sell their's.

Also does anyone know of the differences between version 3.0 and 2.0??

Any info at all would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks in advance BobS

Could someone please send me a copy of 'fsck' that was posted to this news
group a few months ago. I have apparently lost my copy. Thanks in advance.

Hello all,

If anyone has any experience on working with clone cases, contact
me. Specifically, I'm moving a Mega 4 and a hard drive mechanism into
a baby AT case. The only problem I'm encountering is really cosmetic
and that is where I need help.
The problem comes in the ports. I'm wondering if the expansion
slot blank covers can be purchased with DB25 and din holes. Other than
the ports, the project is complete (duh, what's an ST without ports?).
Everything else looks "factory", turbo switch, reset switch, etc. Just
the port area. If I can't find any slot covers with holes, I'll have to
make my own somehow. Again, the problem is purely cosmetic but I'd like
to make the case look "factory". I could have the existing ST cables
run out and through the back but that wouldn't look good.
If anyone can offer some advice please contact me. THANKS!!!

Subject: MIXED

Hello back in the nineties,
a few querstions for today:
1) Is is possible via soft- or hardware to kill the black frame of the
atari sm124 monitor?
2) Is it posible to alter the waste paper basket of gem in the way that
you can open it again like on the mac to unerase?
3) Can somone tell me where to find other computer newsgroups in the net
and a few ideas:
1) The mouse cable can be repaired with little money. Ask your dealer to
measure what doesn't work and then built a new one for of course 5
dollars
2) There is a german TEX running much faster than the pascal one cause
it's in C. It's possible to run on a 1040er with only one drive, but
for instalation you need two drives.
Think it's enough for today, so let's say bye bye. If you know something
of interest please email to so01@dmarum8.bitnet.
Thanks in advance

I've recently bought OMEGA - a tank game with a strong similarity to
CORE WARS in that you
design and program tanks to fight battles and if you win you are awarded
a greater budget which you can use to improve your design.

You can also play against tanks created by other people.

Does anyone else have OMEGA and want to exchange tanks for a battle ?
Perhaps even for a
team competition ???

Cheers,

Jamie.

I finally have a version of PageStream (1.8) which is stable enough to
use, but among the many problems I am having, the fonts are weird. Tyme
and Helv work OK, but Saturn and Hudson, despite the presence of printer
files for these fonts, do not print correctly -- many of the letters
appear only in outline form (i e and x in Saturn, about half the letters
in Hudson). I don't use these fonts very much, but it is annoying.

Does anyone have printer drivers for some of the other fonts which PS
supports only for PostScript, such as Symbol and dingbats? These would
be nice -- the quality of the output on even a 9-pin Panasonic KX-P1180
is excellent!

It would be nice to pick up some tips about PS from this newsgroup,
since the old PPPro manual is obsolescent, and SoftLogik doesn't seem to
have plans to update it, just bits and pieces on loose sheets of paper
with each new release. Do the new versions come with a up-to-date manual?

Hi people

I would like to know a bit more about the STACY computer of ATARI Corp.
As far as I know it has the following features :

1 Meg to 4 Meg memory
Good LCD screen
Good keyboard with 'Mega touch'
Trackball or external mouse if wanted (selectable by a switch)
All 1040 interfaces ( Use of external video is possible )
Floppy 720K
May have internal hard disk (20 M or 40 M) 28ms of access time
TOS 1.4
Built-in Clock

GCR is perfectly running on it , BTW it makes a not very expensive
portable MAC.

It seems quite good to me , what do you think of it ??
Is there any features that I have forgotten , or am I wrong on
some of them ?

I still have other questions:

- Is there a blitter ? if not , is it possible to add one.
- Is the 1Meg model upgradable to 4Meg ?
- Is the LCD screen fast enough for games or text scrolling ?
- Prices ?

Since I may want to buy one , I would like to know your opinions ...
Thanks for your answers in this group.

Oh, maybe this explains why I sometimes have to reboot my Mega-4 two
or three times before it autoboots from the hard disk. I have TOS 1.4
in ROM and am using a Supra 60M hard disk and Supra driver software.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
