Yeah, that would be great; but I'm beginning to wonder what, short of divine
intervention, would give us the TT anytime soon... :-)
Unfortunately, given Atari's past methods, it seems to me that their "soft-
ware arm" would be spun off from the main company to make its own money. Any
profits would probably stay inside that division, rather than being used for
ST/TT development. I'm not a business expert, and don't know the straight
poop about Atari's organization, so I could be dead wrong. That's just
how it looks to this layman. Would anyone in the know care to comment?
Hopefully we won't be seeing any Atari U.K.-type flames about the New Atari-
soft... (??:

Are you sure? I just tried sending test messages from two different sites,
and panarthea.ebay.sun.com worked in both instances. An alternate address
for the server is archive_serv1@ebay.sun.com (I didn't set that up -- the
local mail people just want to have addresses for everything on the mail
gateway machine.)

Are you sure your requests are in the proper form? A very common mistake
is to say

send binaries/volume1/foobar

instead of

send binaries/volume1 foobar

The archive server chokes on the first form. The form of requests is
"send directoryname file [file file file ...]."

I had this Malloc-Problem too, even with a Mega ST2 .
The solution was to put a FOLDR300.PRG into the AUTO-folder.

I hope this will help you.

What's the best PC Emulator for ATARI ST in the 3-4 hundred dollar
price range?

How do the following compare?
1) PC DITTO II
2) PC SPEED
3) SUPERCHARGER

Sure you can get Tos 1.4 Direct from Atari Canada for 100 Canadian. Thats
better than 180. Call 1-416-479-1419.(Service Department) in Markham
Ontario. I got mine via Mail and installed them myself! They even include
instructions for two chip Mega Rom Versions. Anyways put it on Visa and
order direct may be even cheaper in the west to go through Atari California

St-term satisfies all of the above requirements with the exception of
being a script language. Perhaps I should learn how to submit something
to an archive server....

but I did it before, and I suppose I can do it again... if you want it,
mail me, and I will mail it to you.

The program ZMDM (now in version 1.6) by Bammi and coworkers at Case WRU
supports Y and Zmodem. Although I have UniTerm and think that it is a
great program, because of its size and complexity I use it only when I
need the graphics support. The new version of ZMDM has the feature that
you can install it as an application and run it by just clicking on a
small file containing a phone directory. I have been using ZMDM for
years and find it virtually bulletproof (I had to make a minor hack to
get it to support pulse dialing, but that is my only problem). It is
not a GEM application, so you can run it from a shell too.

Supra's procedure (which I won't repeat here) worked, but, as several
other netters also pointed out, your procedure is the correct one.

Thanks, everyone, for your responses.

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between the two above-metioned
AES event messages? MWC defines WM_TOPPED as 21 and WM_NEWTOP as 29. The
only documentation which I've seen make any mention of WM_NEWTOP is Abacus'
"GEM Programmer's Reference" and it is none too clear on the subject.

Thanx in advanx,
