FOR SALE: 20 Meg Supra $350.00 for atari st

I bought this from someone on the during the summer and since
have bought a 129X Toadfile. Since I have the Toadfile I don't
need the Supra anymore.

It does not have the clock chip but it is full of 20 megs
PD software.

This is a repost. My first article did not mention this was for an atari st.
I have cancelled (i think) the first article

hi.
I thought I saw an article in the net about a PD cassette jacket printer. I
would like to know where I can get it. Thanks.

This has nothing to do with computers, but can anyone tellme how to p me how
to post
an article to the alt.rock-n-roll newsgroup? Thanks.

Subject: Comments on STE -- (un)known facts

I have just got hold of my 1040 STE (Friday) and thought the
Net might be interested in some facts, which should be well known.
If they are or not... Well.. Read the following:

What it has

- Smooth one-pixel scrolling in hardware
- Two 8-bit D/A-converters for stereo sound
- RCA stereo output
- Blitter (thanks guys!)
- Six (6) joystick ports [Atari BUSINESS Computer, ha!]
- A palette of 4096 colors. almost useless with the RF-modulator

My first impression is that it could have been better. Much better.
Sure the scrolling is impressing. But the sound... Nah, I've heard
better. The future can't be playing raw sampled sound -- takes too
much memory.

Along on the language disk with handwritten label that follow are two
different demos, apparently written with Turbo C 1.1 (Yes, I've
disassembled them. I had to!) that shows the new capabilities.
Why not put them together, it would be more impressing!

The sound demo sounds good -- but the samplings are boring and really
not that good. You could have done better!

The scrolling demo consists of nine pictures in pattern of 3 times 3
screen where you can scroll softly to any point by moving the mouse.
Nifty!

But, listen now Atari, a large BUT. *No* documentation about the
new chips followed. Not even a list of adresses, not even a little
"read.me" on the language disk!
Why? Don't you want people to use these new features, just the
software houses, or what?

More information follows as soon as I manage to find out. Any
information about the STE can be posted to me. I will summarize to
the net if it's interesting.

[BTW, funny with the hbls in "desktop info"! Not much work, but
it really looks nice...]

ok, easy enough

oh ick!, will it still work for a pc this way?

where might I find this? If I mailed you a disk and an SSAE to return
it could you give it to me? I have very limited net access (via long
distance so it might be cheaper to do so)

Formatting, no problem, the pc across the room will do that! Fiddling
with the jumpers seems not to be a problem.

Thank you greatly for your assistance.

Subject: gpib (ieee-488) interface for st?

Does anyone know of any devices that allow the ST to use gpib/ieee-488
equipment? I remember hearing of one that plugged into the cartridge
port but I couldn't remember the company/address. Also, I need information
on the gpib interface itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Subject: HD questions..

Since a deal for a compleye hard drive set-up fell through..
I am now entering the world of home brew HD.
basically everyone has suggested that I get the ICD Host Adaptor so that is
settled.
1) Can I hook up any SCSI drive to this adaptor(such as the N drives from
Seagate)

2) What Controller card apart from the adaptec 4070 and 4000(a) work with
standard HD mechs(non scsi). IS there a WD, Xebec or possible OMTI substitution

3) What turns out to be faster, an N series drive or a controller/HD combo.

4) Can someone post all the ram expansion boards out for the ST that allow
for either 256k drams or 1 megabits.

thanks for any and all help

Subject: My drive won't stop

Scott Settlemier mentioned that his drive (floppy a:, right?) keeps
spinning after boot up.

I have a vague memory that someone mentioned that this was a bug in TOS
(that happens when autobooting from HD) and that it was fixed in TOS v1.4.

The way that I get around this problem is to access the drive in my
profile. So that when msh comes up the drive is read and stops spinning
after the read. I just do a "ls a:\" at the end of my profile.

I know that this is pretty Kludgy, is there another fix/workaround?

To the best of my knowledge, the TT is NOT available in Canada (at least, not
in Vancouver, British Columbia) yet.
