To sample the state of either mouse button, use the AES function
graf_mkstate. As I don't have my GEM manual with me now, I
don't remember exactly how it works, but this function returns
the state of the two mouse buttons as well as the shift, alternate
and control keys.

With graf_mkstate you can *sample* the state of the mouse buttons. But the
question is, how to wait with event_multi on either mouse button. I did not
solve the problem and I'm waiting too for contributions.

Hey Netters,

Just one small question. Is there a MOVE FILE function in TOS 1.2?
If yes, how do I use it?

Hi there. I have a couple of games which I don't play anymore
which I would like to get rid off. Everything has the orginal docs and boxes
except dungeon master(no box). All the prices include shipping...also make
me offers on bundles of the games....

Barbarian $5
Death Sword $6
Tracker $6
Barbarian II $15
R-Type
$15
Shadowgate $10
Impossible Mission II $10
Carrier Command $12
Heroes of the Lance $10
Empire $15
Dungeon Master $10

I would part with the whole lot for $90.

Thanks!

Can someone reccomend a decent small-sized (under 50k) GEM-based text editor
for me? Preferibly in .ACC format, but not necessary. I've been looking
around for something like this for the last week, and all I've been able to
find is an ACC called DIARY that has a STATIC buffer size of 8k, and then
something called PEDIT which took up 100k and didn't even have a GEM interface.

HelP!

Thanks for the TOS 1.6 info John! I was beginning to worry about
a shaft - go through hell to have TOS 1.4 installed and then 1.6
comes out, would not have been fun! i now have TOS 1.4 and Turbo 1.6
and the speed increase is outstanding1

Could someone post the binaries to OPUS Vers. 2.2

them and I'll post them.

Thanks.

I saw the Portfolio at the WAACE Fest and i've also been very impressed
with the Atari ads that have been appearing in the NY Times, Wall Street
Journal, and USA Today. My dealer now has two Portfolio's and is taking
orders - he is waiting for all the accessories to come out before selling
Portfolio.

Did you look at the code? I wonder how well it would run over a
telebit to a unix host (in xmodem mode instead of uucp mode).

I had given some thought of doing something like this for a PC. The
machine in my living room has 2 337MB drives, but the one in the
kitchen does not have a drive for DOS. I am not familiar enough
with the ST to even think about doing what Paul has done. The C
portion may be able to be ported to a PC allowing the PC to serve
the ST. I tried Paul's program connected to a 286 running Xenix
and all i get are "Chksum reading block 0" and then "Timeout"
errors. Has anyone been able to get this working on a ST talking
to a 286 or 386? I tried running it at 4800 baud with the exact
same results, the only thing i can think of is that the data that
the ST requires is byte swapped.

I have been giving some thought to using Paul's Unix partion of the
code to serve to a DOS machine allowing the same server software
to work with both the ST and PC. Anyone interested in swapping
ideas? Please respond via mail if you are, or know what the problem
is with running the C portion on a 286.

Is there a simple Backup program that works on a 520ST? The ST's
hard drive was dropped and i did not have a backup, hence my desire
to get pmfs working.

About a week and a half ago, I asked about the availability of TeX
and related utilities, as well as of a newer version of gulam. The
only answer I got was that the last gulam version posted to the
binaries newsgroup is about two years old. I got no answers regarding
TeX.

Could some kind soul who has the stuff (there are some of you out
there) send it to Steven so he'll post it? Or is it too huge for the
net? (excuse my ignorance). The same goes for a newer version of
gulam, in case such a thing exists. How about you, Steven? Can you
ftp some of this stuff and post it?

ChessMaster 2000 runs fine, except that the system always bombs when you
save a game. The file is saved (fortuneatly!), but it is annoying. thus
far this is the ONLY program that I've trouble with under TOS 1.4

I don't think that my problems are related to the 'weak chips', all programs
now run fine, now my only problem is with booting the system. After a long
search I think I've narrowed the problem down to either a bad .ACC or
a problem with the ICD adaptor board, the system is in for a look-see at
my dealer now - the diagnoistic cart showed no problems with the Mega 2.
(murphy's Law, bring it to a dealer and it will work fine!)

The compiled binary that came with the original distribution disks did
just the same.

Didn't find the bug (didn't look very much :-)
