DemoNews is a weekly publication dedicated to the demo scene. It is
produced at the Internet FTP site ftp.eng.ufl.edu (aka WASP or HORNET).
This newsletter focuses on all aspects of demos and demo-making (including
music, art, and coding).
There are currently three active demo-operators at this site:

We have around 20 megs of space for uploading. If you want some of
the stuff deleted visit some of the "mirror" sites--ftp.uwp.edu still
has most (if not all) of the ANSI and probably music.
LYNX/MOASIC
For those who use the GUI environment check out our DemoNews.0xx.html in the
/demos/news directory. We hope to add graphics in the coming weeks...
Anyone want to create a DEMONEWS logo for the graphic version of this?

Well, this week I ordered the trophies for MC2. I pick them up next
Tuesday. Also, the voting forms were sent out last Saturday, and most of
them are in. As per the schedule in mc2upd3.txt, the final results SHOULD be
out next Saturday.
Unfortunately, the /artists directories had to be deleted. This has
freed up about 20 MEGs. With 3.7 Megs, I have re-uploaded all of the MC1
entries.

Good news! I have found a DAT machine. After the MC][ results have
been released, I needed to transfer the winners onto DAT so that they could
be transfered to the Escape Demo/CD. This week, I made arrangements with
the University of Akron to use their DAT for a day.

Please do not create DIRECTORIES on this site (ftp.eng.ufl.edu) we
have a TOUGH time deleting them and getting them deleted.
There are about 420+ subscribers to this newsletter. Does anyone have
a "mail server" program? It is sometimes a pain to type in all the
addresses--like over 20 this week. We have about 1-10 bounces a week
partly depending on how well I type/jot addresses down. Anyways, I
hope things don't start bottle necking anytime soon--there is a 11
second delay between each mailing and the news is sent out at
12:30am SUNday.
