Welcome to the holiday issue of The Atari Jaguar's Lair! As with most any
holiday issue of something it is usually the biggest and we are no exception
finally breaking the 100k mark! This issue is PACKED with press releases.
And of course, MORE... MUCH MUCH MORE.

Also notice the "new" look. I have started to beef up my use of extended
ASCII Characters, be sure that you are viewing this from an ASCII text
viewer, like Notepad for Windows or DOS Edit work real well!

I am really encouraging feed back. If I am doing a good job please tell me.
That gives me two things. One encouragement, I am not paid for this and I am
doing my best (putting in many hours online & off), and two it lets me know
just how far the Lair has spread. The bigger we get the more information I
can get, because saying to Joe Shmoe "I represent 5,000 Jaguar owners" sounds
a lot better than "Hey, I represent five Jaguar owners." I have currently
estimated(based on feedback and download counts)that I have a monthly reader
install base of over a 1000! Lets spread the word!

About the Lair. The Lair started out as a "wouldn't it be a good idea if I..
."
and here we are. It is a one man, solo, freelance, newsletter. Currently
its published once a month, and updates go out as available. This marks the
forth issue! The Atari Jaguar's Lair started as a WW4NET sub on a local
BBS and is available nationally.Any Registered WWIV BBS can get on the lair.
Tell the Sysop TYPE : JAGUAR HOST : 8314 The Lair then spread to AOL,
where a current mailing list of 80 receive text updates,ZIPS & JPEGed screen
shots. Any AOL (American Online) subscriber can be a part of the Lair. Just
e-mail ProVega@aol.com & ask for a subscription. Be sure to leave the AOL
address that mail is to be sent to. The Lair requires PKZIP v2.04g & a
JPEG Viewer, note that text files such as this are available to all,no other
viewers etc.needed. INTERNET users may subscribe on a TEXT only BASIS! Since
no files can be sent through the INTERNET via AOL (yet) . Subscriptions are
the same as above. Just e-mail ProVega@AOL.com.

Also note: the lair is generally written between 10:00pm & 02:00am so
please don't complain about spelling mistakes etc. ;-)

Thanx. - Aaron L. Elder

[CHRISTMAS]

Well, this is a little early for a Christmas issue, esspecial since SOOOOOOO
much is coming out over the next month. So look for an update around the 1st
week of December. Anyways, this Christmas should be great!

By December 24, 1994 you can expect to see the Jaguar at over 3000 retail
outlets across America (and all over Europe). As well as about 20-30 games
to go with it. The following section contains what should be out before
Christmas, a little review (if available) and an ESTIMATED rating, based on
several sources and other statistics. (Note this is a very risky thing to do,
these scores are based on others (and some personal) experiences with the
games. I will provided real reviews as I get them in there FULL version.

Games for this Christmas:

Doom : 99%
----------
Almost exactly like the PC, it runs full screen, with 16-Bit (65,536)color
is said to run around 25-30+ FPS! Great sound, JagNet support. A real
winner this Christmas.

Checkered Flag : 80%
--------------------
Polygon racing comes to the Jag! Higher Res. and more colors than the 32x
VR Deluxe, CF LOOKS great! Just play control maybe a problem, I will let
you know when I play it. 20-30 FPS.

Club Drive : 78%
----------------
A real 'virtual world'. Multi-player polygon driving action. Go anywhere
do anything. The play control and over all value may be better than CF,
but the graphics do not look as developed. This will be a great title
for $49.99- 20-25 FPS.

Iron Solider : 100%
-------------------
Everyone says this rocks! FAST & SMOOTH Polygon Mech ACTION! Great sound,
and excellent play control will make this a must have. 25-30+ FPS.
Texture mapped enemies, and two player support (JagNet, JagModem?)

Rayman : 100%
-------------
ULTRA Smooth & VERY colorful animation! Make this cool, kid a sure winner
for the Jaguar! Move over Sonic! Huge levels, & loads of fun.

Kasumi Ninja : 90%
------------------
The BLOODIEST game ever made. Some say enough is enough. The graphics, are
top notch, but play control & game difficulty may be a problem.

Air Cars : 95%
--------------
Up to 8 players with JagNet, this game looks EXTREMELY fun. 20-30FPS

Dragon : The Bruce Lee Story : 85%
----------------------------------
This game sort of came out of nowhere, a fighting game based on the moive
& of course Bruce Lee's life. Color & well animated graphics, this game
will most likely be real fun, but Ultra Vortex & Kasumi Ninja may steal
some of its heat.

Troy Aikman NFL Football : 89%
------------------------------
Just like the other version, just better sound, graphics, color, animation
, & play! Thats the Jaguar for you. ;-)

KEEP IN MIND THE ABOVE RATINGS ARE ESTIMATES BASED ON OTHERS & SOME PERSONAL
INFORMATION ON EACH GAME! SOME OF THESE PROBLEMS MAY HAVE ONLY BEEN IN BETA
VERSIONS OF THE GAMES, I DON'T KNOW. DO NOT RE-POST THESE PIECE-MAIL, I
REPEAT THESE REVIEWS ARE TEMPORARY, AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE UPON RELEASE!!!!!!

[2a] BRUTAL SPORTS FOOTBALL QUICK REVIEW!

The Atari Jaguar's Lair (c) 1994 Official Review of Brutal Sports Football
[Quick Version]

Brutal Sports Football - Preview with ratings...

Telegames - 1994
$69.99

Available : NOW!

RATINGS:

Case & Box : 6 (The box look like it what really thrown together, and the
case design is non-existent it just says "Brutal Sports Football")

Manual : 7 (Basic, tells you what you need to know. Small, and black & white)

Opening : 7.5 (The TELEGAMES logo opening is nice, as is the BSF starting
picture. But once again, like most Jag games, there is no real opening.)

Graphics [Colors & Animation] - 8.5 (Everything is VERY colorful & looks
good. The field scrolling is not PREFECTION, but is above average.)

Graphics [Effects] - 9 (Nice, scaling, rotating, the usually cool eye candy.)

Sound [Music] - 8 (Nothing to write home about, but it is not so bad you want
to turn it off. In fact it goes with the game nicely.)

Sound [Effect] - 9.5 (The sound effects are great, screams, & yells YES! Only
improvement, more of the same.)

Game Control - 8.5 (You pick it up after about 5 minutes! Control is easiest
(even for beginners) if you set control to intermediate.

Fun Factor - 10 (This is an all out blood fest of FUN! This game is an
excellent 2 player game!)

Overall Rating - 8 (this game gets a B, it is worth owning if you have two
joypads & love to beat the crap out of everything.!.!)

Audience Rating : TEENS+ (12 year olds & up, yes it is bloody but very
cartoony.)

Quicky - BSF is a Brutal Sport! Your goal is to get the ball in the other
players goal anyway you can! That means, pick up that axe, or sword or shield
and hit you oppenent over the head with it, they while he's down, kick him a
few times so he won't get up. Then RUN! Each player on the team has a health
box, as it drops, so do the players stats. If it gets too low, the next hit
they get will be their last, as their head goes spinning off. Of course the
head then becomes a weapon that you can throw at people. This game is FUN. It
does not 'show off the Jaguar's abilities', but if BLOWs away anything
comparable on other systems!

[3a] - Virtual Reality for the Jaguar!

Sub-section 1:

... ATARI IN DEAL TO DEVELOP VIRTUAL REALITY GAMES FOR THE HOME ...

LONDON (Reuter) - Virtuality Group, British designer of virtual reality
systems, Tuesday said it had signed a deal with U.S. computer games giant
Atari to produce the first virtual reality games for the home market.

Virtuality will design a prototype headset for use with Atari's Jaguar
video game console. Atari will start making the equipment in bulk in the
second half of next year and will aim to have it on the market by Christmas
1995 selling at less than $200 each.

Virtual reality is technology that allows users to feel they are actually
inside a three dimensional electronic image. Virtuality's headset - called
a head mounted display -- is a strip which is worn over the eyes and
fastens at the back of the head.

Virtuality's chief executive Jon Waldern said: ``This deal offers both
companies great opportunities to build on an early position in the home
market for immersive VR (virtual reality).''
He said this was Virtuality's third major technology licensing deal.
"We have now signed licensing agreements with Atari, IBM and Sega and
continue to negotiate licences with other potential partners,"
he said in
a statement.

ATARI JOINS FORCES WITH VIRTUALITY
TO OFFER HOME VIRTUAL REALITY GAMES BY CHRISTMAS 1995

SUNNYVALE, CA (October 25, 1994) -- Atari Corporation
(AMEX:ATC), the name that created the video game industry, has joined
forces with Virtuality Group plc, the leader in virtual reality
technology and arcade games, to create the world's first immersive
virtual reality games for the home market.

According to the just signed agreement, Virtuality will finalize
development of a consumer version of its head mounted display
technology (virtual reality headset) that Atari will manufacture and
market for use with the Atari Jaguar 64-bit multimedia home
entertainment system. Terms of the agreement call for Atari to
contribute toward the development cost and pay a license to
Virtuality to produce and market the product. The virtual reality
headset will be available to consumers by Christmas 1995 with a
targeted price of less than $200.

"The Atari Jaguar platform is the only 64-bit system currently on
the market and is ideally suited for immersive, virtual reality
games,"
said Jon Waldern, chief executive officer of Virtuality.
"This deal propels both companies to the forefront in the home market
for virtual reality gaming. Thanks to the Atari Jaguar, fans of our
many hit arcade titles will soon be able to play their favorite
virtual reality games at home."

Atari President Sam Tramiel explained that both Atari and
Virtuality have worldwide reputations for offering the most advanced
gaming technology and performance. "Combining Virtuality's ability to
deliver low cost solutions for virtual reality technology
applications with the processing power capabilities of the 64-bit
Atari Jaguar will result in a very high quality virtual reality
experience at a very affordable price,"
he said.

Tramiel added, "By Christmas 1995, Jaguar owners will already be
wearing their virtual reality headsets and playing virtual reality
games at home. While others in the industry play catch up trying to
offer 32 and 64-bit systems, Atari is extending our technological
advantage over our competitors by delivering a high-quality virtual
reality experience."

Atari Corporation markets interactive multimedia entertainment
systems, including Jaguar, the world's only 64-bit game system, and
the only video game system manufactured in the United States.

Virtuality Group plc is the world leader in the design of high
quality virtual reality technology, arcade gaming systems and
software.

CATnips.... Jaguar notes from Don Thomas

Atari has a brand new VHS preview tape and it's better than
ever! Over 30 Jaguar titles have been captured on video
tape and just in time for the Holidays. This tape has been
meticulously produced under the direction of Mr. Greg
LaBrec using state-of-the-art direct-to-tape equipment and
techniques. The action sequences selected were provided
by the game producers or the guidance of the third party
developers. Okay, okay... forget the hype... it's a darn
cool tape and it has a cool plastic box and label too.

This new edition updates the previously released software
preview videos with exciting captures to show off last
minute changes to games that are now in production. There
are incredible sequences featuring action games such as
Iron Soldier and high-resolution fantasy games such as
Rayman by ubi Soft.

Although this tape has been developed primarily for the use
of Jaguar retailers, I have twisted marketings arm and
they (actually he) has finally allowed me to sell copies to
our faithful online Jaguar fans. I told him how everyone
wants to see what has been taking so long. I mentioned that
gamers want a good preview of things they are being asked
to spend $50 to $70 on. I assured him people want an update
of what has been going on in the past few months since CES.
Now he's convinced and I have to sell more than three tapes
fast or he'll never believe me again. <g>

[3f] Jaguar goes to Japan!

For Immediate Release

ATARI JAGUAR STALKS JAPAN

SUNNYVALE, CA (November 21, 1994) -- Atari Corporation
today announced that the Atari Jaguar, the world's only
64-bit video game system, will now be available at all
25 Toys "R" Us stores and other selected stores in
Japan. Mumin Corporation of Tokyo, Japan, will handle

"The Japanese are very serious about their video game
systems, and they will choose the system with the best
graphics and most sophisticated playing environment,"

said Sam Tramiel, CEO of Atari Corporation. "We think
that if they are given the chance to compare, Japanese
gamers will choose Atari Jaguar."

The launch in Japan marks another significant milestone
in building distribution for the Atari Jaguar system.
Introduced in October of last year, the Jaguar was only
available in New York and San Francisco during last
year's important holiday shopping season. Today, the
Jaguar is available throughout the United States,
Canada, Europe and, now, Japan.

"We have the best game system in the business, hit games

Doom, and we are expanding our distribution,"
Tramiel
added. "The momentum for Jaguar is building every day."

Since its release in November 1993, Atari's Jaguar game
system has been named the industry's "Best New Game

System"

today announced that initial production of its new
Alien Vs. Predator game, launched October 21st in stores
around the world, has nearly sold-out. Atari is working
with suppliers to rush additional quantities to stores in
anticipation of increasing pre-Christmas demand for the
game. Alien Vs. Predator utilizes the sophisticated
graphics and power available from the 64-bit Atari Jaguar.

"In less than three weeks, over 50% of our installed base
purchased Alien Vs. Predator,"
said Sam Tramiel, CEO of
Atari Corporation. "This is the most enthusiastic
reception we've ever seen for a game and is indicative of
what a truly great game Alien Vs. Predator really is. We
have also seen a strong increase in sales for the Jaguar
system coinciding with the release of this game and the
launch of our expanded advertising program."

Atari's new Alien Vs. Predator for the 64-bit Jaguar
system provides such realistic graphics and life-like
digitized sound effects that it creates a compelling,
first-person perspective. Gamers can choose to be the
Predator, Alien or Colonial Marine as they battle
through the Predator ship, the Marine Training Base or
the Alien ship, enjoying hours of entertainment. Alien
Vs. Predator is licensed from Twentieth Century Fox and
is based on the films of the same names.

Key game reviewers have been effusive in their praise for
Alien Vs. Predator . Paul Anderson of Game Informer
Magazine stated: "I was overwhelmed with the cutting edge
graphics and the innovative game play of AVP --no question
it's the best Jaguar game to-date."

"Alien Vs. Predator is the best 3-D action game that I have
ever played -- the graphics and game play are second to
none,"
wrote Dave Halverson, editor-in-chief of DieHard
GameFan. "If you own a Jaguar, you must own this game, and
if you don't own a Jag, it's time to get one. More games
are on the way!"

Atari plans to release more startlingly realistic games.
Games scheduled for late November release include Club
Drive, Dragon: the Bruce Lee Story and Doom.. December
releases include Iron Soldier, Val D'Isere Skiing, Kasumi
Ninja, Zool II and Bubsy.

Since its release in November 1993, Atari's Jaguar game
system has been named the industry's "Best New Game
System"
(Video Games Magazine), "Best New Hardware
System"
(Game Informer) and "1993 Technical Achievement
of the Year"
(DieHard GameFan).

Atari Corporation markets interactive multimedia
entertainment systems, including Jaguar, the world's
only 64-bit game system, and the only video game system
manufactured in the United States.

Other news... if you have not heard. As of 11/22/94,
Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story has started to ship and Doom
will be in stores within the next week. The games are
beginning to roll in. We may not all agree about which
ones we like the best, but we will all agree there will
begin to be a LOT of great ones to choose from. I have also
confirmed that the wheels are now in motion to put Primal
Rage out on the Jaguar. Don't ask me how much or when. I do
not know yet. Happy Thanksgiving!

By the way, you can help a LOT by passing this offer
electronically to another Forum, Roundtable or BBS or make
a hard copy and give to friends. Thanks! If you are reading
this news belated, go ahead and place your order! We will

NOTE: YES YOU READ IT CORRECTLY,

Development of Primal Rage for the Atari 64-Bit Jaguar is confirmed.
There is an estimated release of summer 1995.

[THE NEW LAIR]

Greetings all, I have been pondering many things, and the first and foremost
is, what to do about the lair? The lair has grown rather large, and I am
finding the texted based online news letter, rather limited. For example, I
was going to provide complete maps for AVP in this issue, and then realized
how nice it would be to have them neatly printed out. So I then realized
that it would be nice to have the entire thing printed out. So this is what
I am proposing.

There will be two kinds of memeberships to The Atari Jaguar's Lair.

1 - The paying member.

The paying member will receive full, online access.

A- Will receive everything they get now online, updates, press
releases, screen shots, etc.

The paying member will receive a printed copy of the Lair!

A- Were not talking cheap photocopies here, if I am going to do
this I will do it right! Each issue of the Lair (printed) will
be fully illistrated, and will be printed at 600DPI and
reproducted at 600DPI at a PROFESSIONAL copy center. That means
photos etc. will be GRAYSCALE not just Black & White. Each issue
of the Lair will be about 5-10 pages long, front & back, and will
be mailed to your house.

B- Depending on turn out, I may include a disk with each issue,
which would have demos, and COLOR screen shots, saved in the
highest quality

The non-paying member will receive partial online access.

A- This means they will receive everything online, texted based.
No zips, screenshots, waves, or demos, etc.

B- They will receive the Atari Jaguar's Lair in text form, as well
as press releases, and updates.

Pricing - I have not decided yet. Most likely $1.00 or $2.00 per issue.

This program will most likely go in to effect with the first issue shipping
in January. It all depends on turn out. E-Mail A.S.A.P. if you are interested
in this program, I will only do this if I get more than 50 people to sign up.
The price per issue will most likely to $2.00, since that will cover
production costs, disks, & online time. But E-Mail me and let me know. ASAP!

[BLOCKBUSTER VIDEO LETTER WRITING!]

Over the past year Blockbuster Video has tested the Atari Jaguar at some of
its stores. Due to the Jaguar's lack of rentals & games Blockbuster deemed
it unprofietable and therefore did away with it. Christmas is upon us, the
Jaguar user base has expanded, and 25+ games are about to flood the market.
The only thing else that would make a Jag owners Christmas better would be
being able to rent these 25+ games at Blockbuster Video.

So here's what where going to do.First things first. We REALLY need EVERYONE
to join in, if a hundred people write in NOTHING will happen. In fact if
a 1000 people write in nothing will happen. There are currently 90,000 of us
(last I heard) and we need a good portion of us to write in. Only then will
Blockbuster see that it is to THEIR benefit to rent Jaguar's & Jaguar games!

So write to the address below. Tell them how much you like your Jaguar. Tell
them how much you would like to see the Jaguar at Blockbuster Video. Tell
them how you have enjoyed renting games for other systems from them in the
past, and how you would continue to rent games from them for the Jaguar!
Tell them anything & everything truthful that you think will convince them
we want to rent Jaguar games!

Here is the address...

[Cool Quotes of the Month]

Quotes, comments, and statements in this section do not necessarily
represent the views of the writers. The following section is by no means
fact. It is provided as a form of comic relief. Enjoy...

{Quote #1}

" They should change the title from Rayman to Rain man. That way Atari could
use the character in their "
Do the math" campaign. "

- KenSimone@aol.com

{Quote #2}

"Re: Alien extending its jaw in the threedio commercial on tv...

Hmm, if I wanted to get some free publicity off of AvP on the Jag, and
if I were in the non-enviable boots of 3d0, I would also want to flash
a millisecond (almost subliminal) image of an Alien in my cheesy 3Do
ad. Why you ask? Please allow me to expound...

Setting: The 3d'OH war room.

The Odious Deed:

Tripmeister: Dang that AvP on the Jaguar, we don't have anything
like it. What do we do?

Stooge: Lets spread some misinformation about the Jaguar!

Tripmeister: We already tried that, do you know how much money
that Dorfman character wanted for that? If I wanted
such advice, I would have asked the guy I fired for
giving it to me. By the way, YOU'RE FIRED!

Stooge 2: (Trying to look smarter than the last guy) I have a
clever way that we can capitalize off of AvP!

Tripmeister: (Glint appears in his eyes) Please enlighten me!

Stooge 2: In our new television ad, the one with the subliminal
images images, lets insert a quickie sequence of an
Alien extending its jaw. We can always claim it's
some unspecified FMV stuff if anybody catches on!

Tripmeister: Excellent! You just got promoted to Stooge 1's job!
You already started!

Projected Result:

Halfwit 1: Hey dude, heard about that waaay kewl new game, like, uh,
Alien vs Predator or something?

Halfwit 2: Yeah, I, like, saw something about it on tv during the 3dO
commercial!

Halfwit 1: Right! That must be it...

Okay, these were simulated conversations, but the point is hopefully
understood. "

[BIRTHDAYS THIS MONTH]

[7a]

On November 9th, Travis Guy turned 33! Happy Birthday Travis!

Travis is the Editor of Atari Explorer Online. He has faithfully supported
Atari products for many years and still swears by almost all them even as
Atari's focus has changed. Travis is foremost concerned that Atari's best
side is always showing and goes to great lenths to do what he can to help us
do that. Travis' support, as with so many Atari enthusiasts, is volunteer
and everyone at Atari appreciates the fact that he has "hung around".

- Don Thomas

[7b]

On November 2nd, Aaron Elder turned 18! Happy Birthday Aaron!

Aaron is the Editor of The Atari Jaguar's Lair.

Notice on door: Howdy and welcome to this Gaming RTC with Bill Rehbock!

Please come on in and make yourself comfortable!
Room is presently Listen-Only.

<[Wally/Sysop] ST.WALLY> Will do, Bill! I nearly did the same myself.

<[Bill@Atari] B.REHBOCK> Thank you to Darlah and Wally for inviting me here
tonight. I'll be happy to field most questions you'd
like to throw out. We're just in the process of
releasing the last batch of Atari-published Christmas
titles for the year. We still are targeting 30
titles by the end of the year. My wife is in the
other room playing Theme Park from Ocean on our
Jaguar right now; our 4 month old son is fascinated
by it. (Although he prefers playing DOOM :-)
A brief introduction... I take care of the Jaguar
Third-Party Licensing Program here at Atari, I am
also Executive Producer for a few of the Jaguar's
games such as Wolfenstein, DOOM, Fight For Life,
Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story and Val d'Isere Skiing
and Snowboarding. That said, I'll turn it back over
to Wally. Thanks again!

<[Wally/Sysop] ST.WALLY> Thank you Bill! It sounds like you really are busy!
Well, with that, you all can /RAIse your hands and
we'll start!

<[Nathan] POTECHIN> Glad you could make it this evening, Bill and I'm
really glad to see the success of the JAGUAR!
I'd love to hear about some of the games with which
you are personally involved? ga

<[Wally/Sysop] ST.WALLY> Go ahead with your question, Clint!

>>>- Nathan gets cut off here... :-)

<[Wally/Sysop] ST.WALLY> Go ahead, Clint! You're on!

<[Bill@Atari] B.REHBOCK> Clint or Nate? :-)

<[Clint /APE] C.SMITH89> Bill, when is the Jag CD due and has a decision been
made as to if there will be a pack-in? ga

<[Nathan] POTECHIN> Clint first ;-)

<[Bill@Atari] B.REHBOCK> Clint, the Jaguar CD unit is in pilot production
right now. Initial units... will be available this
year in limited quantity.
The main hold-up has been feature-creep on the
software, but I think we'll see about 6 titles for
the CD before the end of January......
We will most likely have a pack-in game, but the
title hasn't been decided yet. ga

<[Wally/Sysop] ST.WALLY> A follow up, CLint?

<[Clint /APE] C.SMITH89> Nope. GA

<[Wally/Sysop] ST.WALLY> Thanks, Clint! Charlie has the next question! GA

>>>- What happened to Nathan... :-)

<[Charlie] ARCHIVIST> Bill, it seems Atari has turned to a rather 'closed
mouth' attitude in the past few months, for example
Fight for Life and Val d'Isere were unknown until
recently. Is this deliberate on Atari's part? Is it
a reaction to feedback on
the nets about the somewhat 'over optimistic'
release dates for some of the early titles? ga

<[Bill@Atari] B.REHBOCK> The Release date thing is definitely an issue, and
Fight For Life is a big project that will blow away
the games of the same genre
on other platforms, so we didn't want to have any
details going out too soon.
It is a ruthless industry, you know :-)

<[Charlie] ARCHIVIST> hehe

<[Bill@Atari] B.REHBOCK> With the titles... that are in production, and those
that are shipping, it is less of an issue to keep
talking about "titles to be" when really fantastic
stuff is here now. ga

<[Wally/Sysop] ST.WALLY> Thanks, Charlie. J.Kantarjian is next with a
question.

<J.KANTARJIAN> Once the CD unit comes out will there be any more
cart games? ga

<[Bill@Atari] B.REHBOCK> Absolutely! One of the best things about Jaguar
over 3DO, PSX, and Saturn is the low entry point.
There is still a place for carts... Third parties
will still be compelled to do carts because the user
base will always be larger than CD units. ga

<J.KANTARJIAN> thanks ga

<[Wally/Sysop] ST.WALLY> Thanks, J.K!
Next is Dimitri!
Go ahead, Dimitri!

<[Dimitri L.] AEO.6> Bill, though we have quite a lot of info on imminent
cart games, we don't know much about what's going on
in the... CD realm. Can you tell us what's coming
up in regard to titles, and maybe describe some,
like Battlemorph? ga

<[Wally/Sysop] ST.WALLY> That's a Tall order, Dimitri! <Grin>

<[Bill@Atari] B.REHBOCK> Battlemorph is the sequel to Cybermorph, with
textures, plus very cool cinematics...
where we get to see just where the heck that little
ball goes to when it leaves the planet...

Blue Lightning is based on the Lynx original, 100%
texture-mapped and loads and loads of scenery and
missions. It also has a way cool soundtrack.

Readysoft are doing Dragon's Lair and Space Ace,
faithful to the original arcade versions. We are
also working on Chaos Agenda, the game where you
play a goverment operative that must walk the fine
line between loyalty and doing the right thing.

We also will release Highlander, based on the
animated television series.

There are others, but I think time prohibits going
into detail :-) ga

<[Wally/Sysop] ST.WALLY> Thanks, Dimitri! Fugazi, your turn!

<[Fugazi] F.KEYLARD> If Philips makes the CD-ROM, what about potential
CD-I compatibility? GA

<[Bill@Atari] B.REHBOCK> CD-i does some very quirky things with hardware.
While it's not impossible, it is a little bit
prohibitively expensive for the consumer right now.

<[Fugazi] F.KEYLARD> Okay, just heard a rumor a while back...

<[Bill@Atari] B.REHBOCK> It can't be ruled out in the future, though. ga

<[Wally/Sysop] ST.WALLY> Thanks Fugazi. Nathan?

<[Nathan] POTECHIN> Hiya Bill. Let's try this again ;-)
Glad you could make it this evening, Bill and I'm
really glad to see the success of the JAGUAR! I'd
love to hear about some of the games with which you
are personally involved? ga

<[Bill@Atari] B.REHBOCK> DOOM-Jag, well kicks Sega's 32-X ass. The 16-bit
color makes the shading look spectacular. The
Jaguar has 23 levels plus a secret level, whereas
the 32-x version has less than 15. The DOOM-II
textures look great in the upper...
levels of the game. Jag-DOOM has all of the original
character animations, whereas in the 32-x version,
most had to be pulled out because of limitations.

Fight For Life is a 3D One or Two Player tournament
fighting game... With full character texturemapping,
morphing, amazingly fast camera tracking and more
flexibility than Virtua Fighter could ever hope to
have. The title-track for the sound track is "Fight
For Life"
by Joe Vitale (he has worked with many
bands including The Eagles and has a few albums of
his own out) and Joe will be including the song on
his upcoming album. It has been written
specifically for Fight For Life on Jaguar.

Val d'Isere Skiing and Snowboarding will be out
before Christmas and is a
60 frame per second Skiing/Snowboarding simulation
that allows you to compete or play Freeride, where
you work you way through Val d'Isere mountain's ski
runs in France. Watch out for snowcats and
snowmobiles, though :-) ga

<[Nathan] POTECHIN> Sounds great.I volunteer to beta TEST all of them!
;-)

<[Wally/Sysop] ST.WALLY> Thanks Nathan!
Man, Bill, you get to work with some great folks!

<[Nathan] POTECHIN> Seriously though, you make them sound quite exciting.
;-) Thanks. ga

<[Wally/Sysop] ST.WALLY> Nate @ HVS is up next!
GA, Nate!
<[Nate@HVS]A2PRO.GELAMP> Okay, the burning question... What is the framerate
on the release version of Checkere
