This guide is a kind of inverted movelist. Why an inverted movelist? Because
an edit wrestler can only learn one move per move input type, and a movelist
such as this, which is grouped by move input type, can be of help determining
what goes where, who to learn it from, and what you'll give up. It
can also help prevent duplication. Sometimes the same move appears in a
different move input and it will help avoid getting a redundant move.


Manipulating the System
-----------------------
Moves appropriate to the wrestler type are learn much more easily. The
first type (average wrestler size) learns strikes and technical throws more
easily. The second type (larger girth) learns throws and suplexes more easily.
Finall, the third type (slimmer build) learns holds more easily. There is
a fourth type, a comical wrestler, which is not initally selectable, but you
can make your wrestler one with certain costume items obtained from the Giant
Channel mini-game. I'm not sure if being a comical wrestler makes certain
moves easier, but it doesn't seem like he learns anything easily, so it may
not be likely.

The striker type is probably the easiest to work with to manipulate the
system. He will learn the strikes you want very quickly. However, you are
giving up learning Brain Buster-based moves like the Orange Crush as his
version isn't compatible.

The very first thing you'll want to do is to turn off the time limit. You
can stop a training session at any time, and without a time limit, it will
be easier to learn certain things, and it will be possible to make some holds
better at bone-breaking by applying them until they make a limb 100% (which
will give it the lightning bolt icon). You can end a training session by
pressing start to pause, then picking the second selection.

First, choose the strikes you want. Train with those who will teach you these
moves, and as soon as you learn what you need immediately stop the session.
Don't worry about the stamina loss. Stamina is the easiest thing to obtain.
For the time being, DO NOT FIGHT BACK. The only thing you should be doing is
bk+A, to take the strikes without being staggered. You still learn strikes
while in this semi-block. The full block (with the spark) will not allow you
to learn moves. It will be a big help if you are good at reversing so that
you will do some damage without having attacked yourself.

If you want to make getting Opponent Down moves easier, you may want to
consider getting Kawada's asobisegiri in the fw,dn,X slot of strikes. When
you miss or have it semi-blocked, you are considered down and the CPU will
act accordingly. That's for later, though. For the time being, do not attack.

You want to stop immediately to prevent learning something you don't want.
Save as soon as you've gotten what you needed from the session, and re-load
if you learned something you don't want. Don't forget that a lot of hammer
throw techniques are strikes, and Wolf from VF has a Frankensteiner which is
considered a technical throw.

It may take a bit of a while (much longer with the other types) to learn all
the strikes you want. As long as you did not attack in any way, you should
be still considered a striker with no specialties.

Save and exit back to the title screen and go into options and change the
difficulty to Hard if not already there.

Now, do a training session with the intention of learning a throw or suplex
you want. Initiate a grapple with A, then hold forward until you start
pushing your opponent. Push for a step or two (as long as you don't push into
the ropes and have to do a clean break). Then do nothing and wait for the CPU
to take control of the grapple and do a move. If the computer just breaks
start again.

Once you learn a throw you want. Try to do that throw ONLY ONCE. You could
just do a body slam, but moves you do when you are starting out will be marked
as your trademark moves (the flame icon) and it is almost impossible down the
road to lose it if you don't want it on a move. Moves with a flame icon may
trigger the triple-take replay in a match if it's a big one.

After the session where you've successfully landed that one move, you will
now be considered a Power type. Now powerful throws will be learned very
quickly. Continue using the technique of initiating a grapple and letting
the CPU take control of it. Stop when you've learned all you need from that
session and save. Re-load when a slot gets filled with something you don't
want.

Getting the CPU to do Free Standing throws is trickier. Initiate a grapple,
then press down on the controller without pressing a button. The CPU should
immediately break the grapple. Timing is crucial now. You have to do dn,B
before the CPU starts a strike. If you started another grapple, try again as
soon as you let the CPU break it. You know when you've succeeded when the
CPU does a Free Standing move. This is the only way to get the computer to
do some of the moves like Kobashi's Argentine Driver, and getting Hase to
regularly do more than two sequential Uranage.
Remember to refrain from using any moves.

The CPU adjusts what moves it does depending on its meter color (green, yellow,
red) as well as yours. Once you reach the point where you've learned all the
throws you can with the CPU always in the green, it's time to start fighting
back. Now, in training sessions, only fight back as much as is necessary to
get the CPU to yellow. If you're really patient, you can try to get the CPU
to yellow on reversing his moves only. Once the CPU is yellow, it will do
more damaging moves.

As far as holds go, you can learn them even as a Suplex type. Just don't
fight out of them. It may take you until your limb gets to 100% but if the
CPU keeps it on that long, you'll learning. This applies to moves like the
Cross Arm Breaker, or the Triangle Lock Submission. However, the CPU won't
keep some holds on long enough, such as the STF, or the Sasorigatame
(Sharpshooter/Scorpion Death Lock).

To learn these moves, do sleepers and arm locks until you become a Submission
type. Then you can learn these quickly. For ground-based holds, this is
where the asobisegiri kick comes in handy. Once you have a certain hold you
want, start the session and do the asobisegiri until the opponent does the
hold. The prime chance for ground holds is when the opponent is in the yellow.
Once in the red, chances are he won't do it any more. If you don't learn it,
re-load and start over until you get it.

If you want to change back to a striker or throw type, do moves until you get
changed. However, as you do more and more moves it will become more difficult
to change types.
