Juno Hacker Text v2
by nidgid
Ok, I put version 2 first because version one was widely-spread and I think anyone who ever used Juno read it, so I put it at the bottom of this text. Version two tells you how to get in ANYONE's account who has their account imported on your machine. Send emails to nidgid@cyberspace.org. Don't ask me to tell you how to get rid of the adds. That's not hacking. If you want to have a lot of fun with Juno, read both versions, all information on this text still works on all versions of Juno software (www.juno.com). It might be good to read version 1 first because it gives information on how Juno's directory structures work and other useful information.
Now on to the good stuff.
Version 2
Here's a neet trick with Juno. This one cracks me up.
Juno stores password information in the C:\Program Files\Juno\lib\passwd.frm file.
If you delete this file, Juno still functions properly because it keeps a backup of the password encrypted in the C:\Program Files\Juno\USER000*\juno.ini file.
(Juno has a directory called USER0000 for the first user, USER0001 for the second and so on).
Here is my username and encrypted password from the juno.ini file below:
[UserInfo]
User=nidgid < -- my username
Password=E538D05B2195F0AE < -- my encrypted password
Salt=1D6F7D8798D4D639
On to the good stuff....
Delete the C:\Program Files\Juno\lib\passwd.frm file.. then open the users juno.ini file that you want to hack. Locate his/her encrypted password. Replace it with your encrypted password from your juno.ini file. Save juno.ini. Open the Juno program.
Log in to their account with YOUR password.
Note: Juno will NOT allow you to check their email because when you choose to 'get and send mail now', the software first sends the server the password you logged in with.
And since they wont match, the server gives you an incorrect password error. But since you're in the account, you can still read already downloaded email. =)
HAVE FUN!
