Young Global Leaders annual summit
Young Global Leaders and Alumni Annual Summit: Co-Creating a Sustainable Future
The Forum of Young Global Leaders (YGL) is an initiative of the World Economic Forum. A sought-after peer network, driving each other to do more and be more.
For the first time, the Forum of Young Global Leaders and its Alumni community will gather in the United States for what is expected to be the largest and most sustainable gathering in our history. Under the theme Co-Creating a Sustainable Future, this year’s Summit will use San Francisco as a window into emerging technologies and trends and examine ways to harness the Fourth Industrial Revolution as a positive force while mitigating its unintended consequences.
On the agenda
The Summit is designed to inspire fresh thinking on current geopolitical, economic and social issues; explore the policy and practical adaptation required to thrive in the Fourth Industrial Revolution; and drive progress towards building a sustainable future.
A Sustainable and Carbon-neutral event
The World Economic Forum is committed to limiting its environmental footprint. To support this mission, the Forum of Young Global Leaders is organizing this year's Annual Summit as a carbon neutral event. This entails fuel-efficient transport, sourcing from sustainability vendors, and minimizing energy usage, among other methods. As the most environmentally sustainable event in our community’s history, this summit will serve as a model for future events, within the community and the Forum.
Who is taking part?
This October, we are expecting more than 600 attendees, representing our community of impressive young leaders from multiple sectors, regions and backgrounds. Last year’s YGL Annual Summit 2017 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, attracted more than 400 YGLs, Alumni and spouses.
For the first time, the summit has been designed and delivered in partnership with co-hosts. The Forum of Young Global Leaders would like to thank our co-hosts for making this summit a success.
