Differences from the book:

- The characters of Tim Allerton and his mother, of Cornelia Robson, of Guido Richetti and of James Fanthorp, present in the book, are completely absent in this film.

- In the novel is Cornelia Robson (and not Rosalie Otterbourne) to witness the wounding of Simon by Jacqueline.

- The scene of the film in which Poirot finds a snake in the toilet of his cabin is not present in the novel.

- In the novel Rosalie Otterbourne will marry Tim Allerton and not Mr. Ferguson, who wanted to marry Cornelia Robson.

- In the novel, Colonel Race appears after the Wâdi Halfa tour, but in the film he is present from the beginnin.

- The story of the pearls stolen in the novel is much more debated, in the film it is only a marginal question.

- Jacqueline Bellefort is in the novel present on Karnak since the first day, in the film instead appears next to departure.

- The interrogations in the film are conducted in a very negligible way, in the novel are more detailed and Poirot takes notes after each deposition.

- In the novel Poirot had already met Simon and Jacqueline in a restaurant in London, before leaving for Egypt.

- The scene in which Simon and Linnet rise on the pyramid is only present in the film.

- Louise Bourget is found dead by Poirot and Race after lunch, and not by a waiter as in the film.

- In the film Poirot gives the solution of the case by bringing everyone together in the salon, in the book this scene does not happen, but speaks individually with the two suspects.

- Jacqueline in the novel, shoots Simon as he is carried in a stretcher down from the Karnak once they reach Shellâl, and not in the dining room as in the film.

- In the novel, Jacqueline commits suicide by shooting herself at the heart, while in the film she shoots herself in the temple.

- The first interview between Jacqueline and Poirot does not take place at the day market, as in the film, but in the hotel garden in the evening.

- In the novel Race is on Karnak to look for an enemy spy, in the film instead it is incognito on behalf of the English lawyers of Linnet.
