... DC apparently was working at eliminating anything representing excitement from their books. Clark met Lois yet again for the first time in _Superboy_ #63, March 1958, in a story called "Clark Kent Cub Reporter." Otto Binder and John Sikela did the honors this time. Clark applies for a summer job at the Daily Planet to see how he'd like being a reporter. Editor Perry White picks Clark over a girl named Lois Lane. For some reason, Clark thinks she reminds him of Lana Lang, "my curious neighbor back home who is always trying to prove I'm Superboy." This is at first sight, mind you! Lois only appears in one panel in this story. This is a trend in th ...

Lois stands out as well. Despite being the damsel in distress, she manages to make a couple of escape attempts and taunts Rajiv about his crumbling criminal empire. Of course, when your base of operations is a hollowed out butte in Northern Territory, Australia, you make yourself an easy target for jokes. ... someone I love just as much," and her thoughts reciprocated her sorrow over her sacrifice: "you are, truly, the only man I will ever love." (SUPERMAN #63, Jan 92) Clark eventually learned that the mermaid actually survived under the ocean depths. In time, Lori left Tritonis and moved to Metropolis, where she even lived with Lois a while. Despite Lois's jealousy, the romance between the college sweethearts was over. Clark and Cat Catherine Grant, gossip columnist for the DAILY PLANET, was a rather flirtatious woman when she met Clark Kent at the office. She immediately went after the handsome reporter, and Clark fought to remain a gentleman despi ...

And in SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL #63, hitting stores on October 30, the powerless Clark Kent (who's lost his super-abilities as a results of the events of THE FINAL NIGHT) is kidnapped and forced to reveal that he's Superman! NOTE: Because books for October arrival were solicited in the August issue of PREVIEWS, DC is having to do a bit of rescheduling. First, SUPERMAN: THE WEDDING ALBUM has been retrosolicited in the September issue of PREVIEWS. Also, ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN #541, ACTION COMICS #728, and SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL ...
