... lis for the first time when a cave-in blocked the tunnel, but he was able to change to Superman in the darkness. He remembers battling "It" (_Action_ #162) and his greatest nemesis, Lois Lane, to protect his secret identity. He remembers plugging a hole in a dam while dressed as Clark because he just didn't have time to change. He flies back to erase Clark's shoe prints (pressed into the dam while carrying the heavy boulder) but wonders if anyone has already seen them and used them to track him down. He remembers hurling a meteor back into space to keep it from striking a desert town. But he doesn't think anyone saw him except a passing plane pil ...

... the Kryptonian Cybernet, of course.) One of the most famous imaginary stories is "The Amazing Story of Superman-Red & Superman-Blue" from _Superman_ #162 (1st series, 1963). Superman is divided into two colour-coded heroes that quickly solve all of Superman's problems, including restoring the bottle city of Kandor, finding an antidote to Green Kryptonite, eliminating crime and evil, and resolving the Superman, Clark, Lois, and Lana love quadrangle. Sometimes these stories were presented as straight imaginary tales and were announced as such either on the cover or on the inside splash page. In other stories, Superman used a computer to create pre ...

Other single stories, such as the famous "Amazing Story of Superman-Red and Superman-Blue" (SUPERMAN #162, 1963), have presented the Man of Tomorrow wearing different clothing in the comic books. I personally find it ridiculous that an alien civilization would choose a symbol so very similar to a character in the Latin alphabet. Instead, I am pleased with John Byrne's explanation for the symbol and the suit as described above. The modern comics story makes the existence of the suit and its various pieces plausible as more than just a pretty costume. Conclusion After the Kents designed Clark's first ...

... ould finally solve all of his problems, and live happily ever after. "The Amazing Story of Superman-Red and Superman-Blue" first appeared in Superman #162, in 1963. It was most recently reprinted in "The Greatest Superman Stories Ever Told". Just in case you haven't read any of my other reviews, this book is truly the best Superman stories. No need to hype it - it's great. I believe the hardcover version is out of print, but the trade paperback is still available. If you don't have it, GET IT!!! The story was by Leo Dorfman, and the art was by Curt Swan, inked by that Silver Age staple, George Klein, except for cameo inking of Lois' and Lana's fa ...

... Mike McKean provided me with the information that the ÒSuperman Red and Superman BlueÓ story which placed in last monthÕs survey appeared in Superman #162. He also wrote: ÒSuperman Death StoryÓ by Alan Moore: IÕm almost certain the respondents were referring to ÒWhatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?Ó I can recall only two other Superman stories by Alan Moore: ÒFor the Man Who Has Everything,Ó which made the list of favorite stories, and DC COMICS PRESENTS #eighty- something, which co-stars Swamp Thing. Superman is feverish in this story and may seem on the verge of death, so it is possible that ÒSuperman Death StoryÓ refers to this story. But ...
