Only about four dozen days or so before we all die... how I can't wait.
I'm really surprised that massive panic or a large religious upheaval
hasn't started yet. If they wait much longer, they'll be no chance
to beat the paranoia that occurred during the first millennia.
. . . : ; The "GOOD BYE, MISTER PAD" Notice
I took a class of Graphic Arts long long ago, and one of the assignments
was to create a pad of paper. I remember fondly making a large pad of
orange paper whose sole purpose was to help manual war dialing. I just
finished using the other side of the pad a couple of days ago. It shall
be missed. Meeemmoorriees!
. . . : ; ANNOUNCEMENTS and it's hot in my house...
THE HORROR SECTION: Released midnight of the last Halloween of the
millennium, I was rather surprised at how well The Horror Section did for
itself. Knowing that there were a kazillion other horror sites on the
net, I had the impression that people wouldn't notice. Or care. I was
pleasantly surprised to see, within a week's time, almost half of the
Unknown images identified, numerous compliments and suggestions, and all
around, a good turnout. Thanks! There are some nifty things in the
future for The Horror Section, so be prepared.
NEW DEVIL SHAT (#FiftyEight): Part three of a ten part series from Rown
Garnbii fills the bulk of this issue. Containing a riveting interview
with a real live priest (ooOoOhhh!), he covers commandment three: graven
images. In complement, find two articles from Morbus, one rather short,
and another about home town horror and the hunt for the next Columbine.
Excitement at it's finest.
NEW GHOST SITES (#32): Steve Baldwin continues his fight against web rot
with another issue of the ever popular Ghost Sites. Containing more
political, media, and collegiate sites than you could tempt a
necrophiliac with, he also reveals a dastardly wrong against Ghost Sites
itself. Don't hold your breath any longer. Go!
NEW NETSLAVES: Primarily because I'm lazy and it's 3 o' freaking clock
in the morning as I clack these words, I'll lift the following straight
from the newest issue: "Stephen Gilliard appeared one day on the
NetSlaves radar screen and has become an integral part of what we do on
this crazy site ever since. Those of you who hang on our discussion list
know what we're talking about. For the rest of you, there's the great
articles he's written for us -- Steve plays it fast and loose and hard.
He's a natural-born writer and a profile of him is long overdue. In the
following interview, Steve reveals the man behind the words and as
usual, spares no one."
NETSLAVES BOOK RELEASED: The NetSlaves hard cover book was released this
October 27th, and immediately shot up to #11 on Amazon's top 100 list.
If you haven't seen it, go down to your local book store and bitch them
out for not ordering a crapload. It's a fine read.
DEVIL SHAT UPDATES: Some minor email updates to Devil Shat over this
past month: new emails added to issues four, six, thirty nine, fifty
two, fifty three, fifty five, fifty six, and fifty seven. I really do
need to redesign the stupid site. Hopefully, soon. If you have any
suggestions, be sure to drop me a line.
BREAKING FIVE MILLION: The Disobey.com site broke five million accesses
this past month. May we make the next five million in less than a year.
We're heading there swifter than we hoped.
LACK OF UPDATES: You'll notice that there wasn't a huge amount of
updates for the month of October and early November. This is solely due
to The Horror Section. Most of my waking and normally-sleeping hours
were filled with thoughts and mad panic about how to get The Horror
Section respectable by the time I had promised. Although it wasn't
perfect, the release did relieve a lot of stress (I was snapping like a
tortoise by the time Halloween came around).
. . . : ; EVERYTHING else and i've got sweaty palms!...
OE 5.0 GOES BYE BYE: I'm one of those people that have to have
the latest software and the newest crap. That's just how I am. I could
care less if the old software isn't broken and is working wonderfully, I just
have some inane desire to increment a version number and then frown
down on people who are using older versions. Long story short, I
downloaded the Outlook Express 5.0 for one of my Mac's the day it came
out. Within a week, I had regressed back to 4.5, which is rather
shocking and hard for me to do (go backwards! gasp! I won't
have the newest!). Granted, there were some neat features in 5.0, but so
many backward steps that it became less of an enjoyment but more of "why
the FRIG did they change THAT!".
MOVIES WATCHED: A lot of them, considering it was Halloween and all. Of
the movies I own, I watched THE HAND, which was Oliver Stone's first
screenplay (and actually wasn't that bad), as well as seeing two CHILD'S
PLAY movies, two HALLOWEEN movies, and almost all the movies on AMC's
MonsterFest. Most of said MonsterFest movies are now crammed on to blank
tapes so that I may enjoy them again. (For superlative subject linking,
make sure to read the "Question of the Week" below).
NEW CDS: Had to pick up some new music. Just had to. It's amazing that
one can have a crapload of CDs that come from all different walks of
life, but can immediately get repulsed when looking through his
collection for something to listen to. Thus, the newest NIN and MISFITS
have been rotated more times than they probably should have. I need
more.

[Annoyance-of-the-Week]-= Sucking at Math
---I must have screwed up monetary wise about a thousand times this
---month. Getting more money back, getting less money back, thinking
---I was out of debt, everything. All wrong. I'm also very ready to
---move to another bank. Somewhere along the line, every single
---teller at the local Fleet has pissed me off in one way or
---another. Freakin' banks.
[Question-of-the-Week]-= SP, LP, SLP, EP, PEE PEE?
---Reading above, you know that I taped a lot of MonsterFest off of
---AMC. Here's a question though: is there any degradation in quality
---between using Single Play, Extended Play, Long Play, or any of the
---other abbreviations you see floating on boxes? I'm assuming yes,
---since the tape has to move slower to fit more on it, but is it
---a noticeable difference? I taped everything on the four hour setting,
---roughly, two movies a tape, since I didn't want to waste money
---by doing one movie per tape or have crap by doing three per tape.
